ELIZABETH J. ANDERSON
Ms. Elizabeth J. Anderson, age 48, of Lake City, Fla., formerly of Panama City, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at her home. She had lived in the Lake City area for one and one-half years, moving there from North Hollywood, Calif. Ms. Anderson was a court reporter for 27 years and attended St. Dominic's Catholic Church. She is survived by her mother, Agnes Anderson of Callaway; a brother, Robert Anderson of Allen, Texas ; and a sister, Judy Watson of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 30 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories.

TORNE MAE HORNE PETERSON
Mrs. Tora Mae Horne Peterson passed away Wednesday at the home of her daughter in White City. She had been a long time resident of Washington County until coming to White City six years ago. She was a member of Westville Pentecostal Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Webb Peterson, and her son, Carlus Peterson. Survivors include her children: Evelyn Harcus of White City, J.W. Peterson of Panama City, Evie Lee Whittaker of Grand Ridge, and Lessie Mae Windham of Lynn Haven; a sister, Thelma Manning of Ponce de Leon; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Peterson will lie in state at the home of her daughter, Evelyn Harcus, in White City, from Friday afternoon until the funeral on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. EDT Saturday at White City Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Nick Davis the Rev. Hubert Birge and the Rev. Mark Sturdivant. Interment will follow in the family plot in New Ponce de Leon Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

JOHN WILLIAM DAY
Mr. John William Day, age 67, of 1306 Wyoming Ave., Lynn Haven, Fla., died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1978, coming here from Bath, Maine. Mr. Day served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was past Commander of the DAV, Bay County Chapter 106 for 14 years. He was voted "Mr. DAV" in 1986 for outstanding service to all veterans. The commendation went on to say that John was the greatest asset to the Bay County chapter in its' history. Mr. Day enjoyed fishing and was a caring man who would do anything for anybody. Mr. Day is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sharon Day of Lynn Haven; sons: Dennis Day of Jacksonville, David Day and his wife Nancy of Mobile, Ala., James Day and his wife Peggy of Bastrop, La., Jerry Day and his wife Leda of Phenix City, Ala., and Tom W. Day and his wife Julie of Panama City; daughters, Susie Day and Judy Langley and her husband Russ, all of Crossett, Alaska; step-daughter, Lisa Leath and her husband Dale of Jacksonville; and ten grandchildren. He was also survived by his very special friends, Ruth and Wayne Melvin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 29 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the DAV, Chapter 106. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 28.

JOHN EDWARD PIC SR.
Mr. John Edward Pic, Sr., age 68, of Lynn Haven, Fla. passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2000. Mr. Pic was born in New Orleans, La., and moved to Panama City in 1971. He is survived by his five children: John E. Pic Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Fairfax Station, Va., Janet A. Pitts and her husband Bill of Panama City, James M. Pic and his wife Michelle of Panama City, Jeffrey A. Pic and his wife Lori of Springfield, Va., and Joel D. Pic and his wife Christy Michelle of Panama City; six grandchildren; a brother, Robert L. Oswald and his wife Vada of Wichita Falls, Texas ; and a special friend, Elaine Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret D. Pic. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 29 at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Workentine officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.

EVERETT DOUGLAS MOORE SR.
Mr. Everett Douglas Moore Sr., age 77, a resident of Prattville, Ala., died Thursday, April 27, 2000. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, at 2 p.m. from Ridout's Prattville Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Kimbro officiating. Burial will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens with Ridout's Prattville Chapel directing. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Moore of Prattville; four sons: Douglas E. Moore Jr. of Millbrook, Ala., Tony (Charles) Moore and Ricky A. Moore, both of Prattville and Stephen W. Moore of Elmore, Ala. and eight grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers will be: Joe Graham, Walt Jones, Jack Wilson, Bob Dunn, Chuck Johnson and Mike Breedlove. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Susan Adriene Spencer, age 39, of 1722 W. 17th St., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at a local hospital. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Spencer of Panama City; her father, Leroy Lowe of Panama City; a sister, Ellen Lowe of San Francisco, Calif.; and a brother, John Lowe of Dallas, Texas . Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, April 29 at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Phil Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services for Don F. Willis, 81, of 325 S. Bonita Ave., Panama City, Fla., who died Wednesday morning in his home, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Tolbert presiding. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. MARY KRISTIAN
Mrs. Mary Kristian, age 68, of 2607 Grant Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1952, coming here from Enterprise, Ala. Mrs. Kristian was a member of Agape Baptist Church. She was formerly in the Children's Bus Ministry at Westview Baptist Church. Mrs. Kristian was a lovable person who loved helping people. She also liked to cook and dance. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert N. Kristian of Panama City; a brother, Douglas Lewis of Wichita Falls, Texas ; and numerous nieces and nephew. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Agape Church Chair Fund, 122 Airport Road, Panama City, Fla. 32405 in memory of Mrs. Kristian.

MARTHA SHERMAN LEWIS
Graveside funeral services for Martha Sherman Lewis, 81, of 316 Cherry St., Panama City, who died Thursday, April 27, 2000, in a local hospital, will be held today at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Si Mathison officiating. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Thornwell Orphanage, Clinton, S.C., in memory of Martha Lewis.

ROBERT EARL McCURLEY SR.
Mr. Robert Earl McCurley Sr., age 78, of 24 Harrison Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at a local nursing facility. He was in the Navy Seabees in Siapan for 21/2 years during World War II. He first came to Panama City in 1942 and worked at Wainwright Shipyard as assistant superintendent of shipfitting before signing up to serve our country. Mr. McCurley attended L.S.U. on a boxing scholarship and majored in mathematics. He was the featherweight champion of Louisiana in 1939. Mr. McCurley followed the shipbuilding trade after the war in New Orleans for several years at Avondale Yard as superintendent of shipfitting before getting into restaurant and construction of homes in Laplace, La. His next endeavor was to build rockets, so he went to work for Boeing Aircraft Co. in Shalmet, La. After several years of rocket building, he returned to home construction. He moved his family to Panama City in October of 1966. He worked as a structural engineer for Hilton Company and built the first skyscraper on Thomas Drive. He has left his touch on many landmarks. During his retirement, his favorite pastime was fishing, Dixieland music and loving his family. Mr. McCurley is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria McCurley of Panama City, Fla.; sons, Joseph Alan McCurley and his wife Deborah of Panama City, Fla., and Robert Earl McCurley and his wife Kathy, also of Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren: Ronnie Danley, Alan McCurley, Jamie Keithan, Joey Smith, Ricky McCurley and Heather McCurley; and great-grandchildren: Shana James, Dylan James, Kayla Dawley, Chris Dawley, Sidney Smith and Ashtin Noyes. The family will hold a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends may pay their respects by donations to the Stroke Foundation in Mr. McCurley's remembrance or go fishing.

ROY S. MIHLFELD
Roy S, Mihlfeld, 81, of Gainesville, died on April 26, 2000, at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. A native of Lodi, Mo., Mr. Mihlfeld had lived in Gainesville since 1964. He was a legislative auditor with the State of Florida until his retirement. A retired Air Force veteran, he had served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Club, and he was Baptist by faith. He is survived by his wife, Judy Kelley Mihlfeld of Gainesville; one son, Tim Mihlfeld of League, Texas ; two daughters, Amy Amdor of Hawthorn, Fla., and Stephanie Richardson of Port St. Joe; one brother, the Rev. Beryl Mihlfeld of Grand Ridge, Fla.; two sisters, Betsy Carter of Winder, Ga., and Gladys South of Indianapolis, Ind.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. (EDT) today, April 29, at Kelley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola.
