Marie Brock Duncan, 79, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, after an extended illness. She was born in Chipley, Fla., to Lon and Hattie Brock and later moved to Panama City. Marie was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City and retired from the Singer Company. Marie's special interests included her love for flowers and gardening, cooking and a sincere desire to help others by her volunteer work. Survivors include a brother, Quincy Brock; a son, Doyle Duncan and his wife Nita; two daughters, Renee' Duncan and John Kessinger, Kathy Vossler and her husband Charles; grandchildren: Robert Ecker III, Charles Vossler III, Edward Duncan III, and Ryan Nowell; granddaughter, Lauren Marie Vossler; one great-grandchild, Justin Tyler Duncan, born April 2, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Arthur Duncan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Chewning officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, at Piney Grove Cemetery
in Chipley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. If desired, Marie's sweet and courageous spirit may memorialized by donations to American Parkinson Disease Assoc., Inc., 1250 Hylan Blvd., Suite 4B, Staten Island, NY 10305. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the devoted care-givers at National Health Care. The family will be staying at the home of Renee' Duncan and John Kessinger, 2514 Country Club Drive, Lynn Haven, FL 32444.

RICHARD LOUIS FILSINGER
Mr. Richard Louis Filsinger, age 69, of 6700 Oakshore Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at his home after an extended illness. A native Oregonian, he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years, where he served 10 years aboard Air Force One. After retiring from the Air Force, he was a charter boat skipper at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. He was a life member of VFW Post No. 3057, Westport, Wash. Mr. Filsinger is survived by his wife, Jeannine Filsinger of Panama City; a stepson, Russell Doyer of Marysville, Wash.; and a stepdaughter, Christine McAuliff of Tacoma, Wash. No services will be held. Memorialization will be by cremation.

Funeral services for Nathaniel D. Foster, age 19, of 180 Hitching Post Lane, Wewahitchka, Fla., who died April 1, 2000, will be held at 2 p.m. today., April 4, 2000, at the United Pentecostal in Wewahitcka with the Rev. Alan E. PRENTICE MOODY HAYNES
Prentice Moody Haynes, 84, born in Emerson, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2000. He had been a resident of Panama City, Fla. since 1997. Prior to his moving to Panama City, he lived in New Orleans, La., where he resided with his wife for 56 years. Mr. Haynes is preceded in death by his beloved wife Eleanor Elizabeth and daughter Elizabeth M. Felton. He is survived by daughter, Sylvia Maceluch of Panama City, Fla.; and son, Larry Bentley and wife Dolores of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Lawrence Haynes of Shreveport, La., Franklin Haynes of Emerson, Ark.; two sisters, Gracie Barker of Shangaloo, La., and Laurine Walters of Jackson, Miss., eight grandchildren: John Jr. II, Keith, and Paula Maceluch, Doug Felton, Susan Didier, Robyn Poston, Rhonda Pannocchia, Russell Bentley, and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ken Taylor officiating. Those desiring to may make a donation to American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. in memory of Mr. Prentice Haynes.

WILLIAM FRANK 'BILL' HERRING SR.
Mr. William Frank "Bill" Herring Sr., age 63, of 4913 Hispanola St., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at a local hospital. He was a resident of the area for five years, moving from Jacksonville, Ala. Mr. Herring was a retired air traffic controller and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Mr. Herring loved his family and his dog Nicholas. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Herring of Panama City Beach; a son, William F. Herring Jr. of Marietta, Ga.; his mother, Mardell Calhoun of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Laura H. Carpenter of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, James C. Herring Sr. of Woodstock, Ga., and Bobby L. Herring of Greensboro, N.C.; and three grandchildren: Joey Herring, Rachel Coffey and William Herring, all of Marietta, Ga. No funeral services will be held. Mr. Gordon Lawrence Smibert, age 74, of 17002 Firenzo Ave., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Sunday, April 2, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1978, coming here from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. Mr. Smibert enjoyed playing golf, reading and was a member of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Angeline Smibert of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Caroline Jordan and her husband Henry of Rogers, Ark.; two sons, Robert Simbert and his wife Carol of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada, and David Smibert and his wife Heather of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; two sisters, Norma Johnson of Port Moody, B.C., and Faye Howden and her husband Bill of Seattle, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, at Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ken Churchill officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, April 5, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., preceding service time. Infant Lorna Elaine Tschudi, daughter of Tech. Sgt. Kenneth Tschudi and wife Linda Hudgins Tschudi, of Port St. Joe, was stillborn on Thursday, March 30, 2000, in Panama City. Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister, Kenetha Tschudi of Port St. Joe; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Tschudi of Pittsburg, Pa., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. EDT today, April 4, at the graveside in Forest Hill Cemetery. Interment will follow.

BESSIE MARIE WHITMER
Mrs. Bessie Marie Whitmer, age 76, of 12030 Hwy. 231, Youngstown, Fla, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since June, 1960, coming here from Columbus, Ohio. Mrs. Whitmer enjoyed crafts and crochet work. She is survived by her Daughter, Carol Ann Whitmer of Youngstown; son, Edward "Eddie" Whitmer of Youngstown; grandsons, Robert Eugene "Gene" Whitmer and his wife Kim of Panama City and Bobby Lee Whitmer of Youngstown; great-grandchildren: Kendra, Sabrina and Jared; a sister, Billie Coslett of Las Vegas, Nev.; special friend, Sue Oswald; and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bill Plazarin officiating. Interment will follow. Helen Rose Binford, 85, of Lynn Haven, died April 3, 2000, in her home. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Lynn Haven. She had been a resident here for 20 years, moving here from Glenview, Ill. Her husband, Charles W. Binford, precedes her in death. She is survived by two sons, Charles W. Binford Jr. (Chuck) and his wife Inga of Great Lakes, Ill., Allen Binford (Al) and his wife Susan of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; eight grandchildren: Elizabeth Binford, Deanna Binford, Cheryl Binford, Lori Curtis, Penny Binford, James Wallace, Erica Wallace, Jonathan Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Brian Curtis, Marcus Wallace; and brother, Matt Mersdorf and his wife Jane of Sun City, Ariz. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Lynn Haven with the Rev. Doug Pennington officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery
