Mrs. Edna Bernice Bullock, age 74, of 2300 Sherman Ave., Cedar Grove, Fla., died Friday, March 24, 2000 at her home after a lengthy illness. She had been a resident of the area for 65 years, coming here from Dothan, Ala. Mrs. Bullock was a member of Springfield Community Church and Wal-Mart Coffee Club. She loved to shop and loved people, never met a stranger. Mrs. Bullock is survived by her husband, James C. Bullock of Cedar Grove, Fla.; two daughters, Jane Johnson and her husband Larry of Callaway and Dianne Emond and her husband Yves of Foster City, Calif.; grandchildren, J. Michael Johnson of Callaway, Dee Dee Emond and Ralph Emond, both of Foster City, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Margaret Murbine Estes, age 65, formerly of 119 Poston Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, March 23, 2000 at a local hospital. She had been a lifetime resident of the area. The Rev. Estes was the former pastor and associate pastor of Bay Harbor Community Church and with Living Word of Faith Fellowship for 25 years. She is survived by her son, Donnie Davis of Panama City; sisters, Jeanette Carter and Sara Brannon, both of Panama City; brothers, the Rev. T.J. Davis and Ronnie Davis, both of Panama City; a special friend, Caroline Stockwell of Panama City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon today, March 25, in Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt and the Rev. Wilfred Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Millville Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Jimmy Carter, Jerry Carter, Joseph Herndon, Lawton Murphy, Paul Brannon and Robert Paul Evans. HORACE H. FOUNTAIN
Mr. Horace H. Fountain, age 88, of 621 Maine Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at a local nursing facility. He had been a resident of the area for 65 years, coming here from Graceville, Fla. Mr. Fountain retired as the supervisor of the Water Dept. for the City of Panama City after 30 years. He was a member of First Assembly of God and was a good Christian man who loved people. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Fountain of Panama City; a daughter, Shirley Zacchio of Panama City; two sons, Joe Donald Fountain and his wife Joie of Rockledge, Fla., and Horace Edwin Fountain of Panama City; a brother, "Bill" Fountain and his wife Snooks of Graceville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today, March 25, at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Phil Edwards and the Rev. Hilton Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Tony Zacchio, Keith Fountain, Chris Barnett, Jim Barnett, Frederick Kolmetz and Homer Cutchen. Honorary pallbearers will include the Men's Bible Class of First Assembly of God.

Miss Lisa Halbleib, 30, of Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, March 23, 2000 at her home. SHIRLEY T. HICKS
Mrs. Shirley T. Hicks, 64, of Port St. Joe, passed away Wednesday night, March 22, 2000 in Panama City. A native of Bayou la Batre, Ala., she had been a resident here for the past 45 years and was a member of Highland View Baptist Church. Mrs. Hicks was an accountant. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Hicks of Port St. Joe; her children: Robert J. Hicks of Oklahoma City, Okla., Cindy Lee Whatlev of Auburndale, Aaron L. Whitfield of Port St. Joe, and Heidi L. Taylor of Port St. Joe; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four brothers: Irvin Earl Tapper of Grand Bay, Ala., J.T. Tapper of Mobile, Ala., Jimmy Kent Tapper of St. Louis, Mo., and Michael Ray Tapper of Grand Bav. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by a son, a grandson and her parents. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. EST today, March 25, at Highland View Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Judson Waldrop, the Rev. Charles Scott and the Rev. David Nichols. Interment will follow in the family plot in Holly Hill Cemetery. She will lie in state at the church today for an hour prior to the funeral. MILDRED E. JOHNSON
Mrs. Mildred E Johnson, age 90, wife of Henry A. Johnson (deceased) died at 1 a.m. EST March 12, 2000 in her sleep at Bay Saint Joseph Care Center in Port St. Joe, Fla. She was a forrner resident of New Milford, N.J., Albany, Ga., and St. Joe Beach, Fla. She is survived by her two children, Eileen R. Taska of Greenwich, Conn., and Ronald H. Johnson of Mexico Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was employed for 27 years by Sears Roebuck & Co. as a personnel training specialist and after retirement, moved to Albany, Ga. and became an assistant bookkeeper for St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she was a member. She was a life member of the Tenakill Chapter No. 235 of the Order of the Eastern Star, of Tenafly, N.J., and a former member of First Reformed Church in Hackensack, N.J. A memorial service will be conducted at St. James' Episoopal Church, 800 22nd Street, Port St. Joe, Fla., today, March 25, at 11 a.m. EST. Arrangements for a second memorial service and interment on April 8 at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J., are being developed. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her memory to St. James' Episcopal Church memorial fund, P.O. Box 786, Port St. Joe, Fla. 32457. Mrs. Julia Idell Pennington, age 81, of 6525 Winona St., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area for 40 years, coming here from Clayton, Ala. and was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Pennington enjoyed deep sea fishing, raising her family and was a vegetable gardener. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Price and her husband Ronald of Panama City; sons, Edward Dean of Panama City and Jason Dean and his wife Donna of Callaway; sisters, Rehta Smith of Callaway, Ozell Williams and Berdell Cooper, both of Clayton, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Preston, and a son, Ladon Dean. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today, March 25, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery

Mr. James H. (Jim) Tyree, age 80, of 104 Jeanette Ave., Panama City Beach, died Tuesday, March 21 in Gulf Coast Convalescent Center in Panama City Beach. Graveside funeral services were held Friday, March 24, at 2 p.m. in Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Ga., under the direction of a chaplain from the U.S. Army. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home of Thomaston, Ga. was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Tyree was a native of Atlanta and was a retired major from the U.S. Army with 26 years of service. After retirement, he lived in Panama City Beach. Mr. Tyree is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian C. Tyree of Panama City Beach; two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Starr of Auburn, Ala., and Mrs. Elaine Snow of Conyers, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Steven Tyree of Conyers and Mr. Ronald Tyree of Evergreen, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Lucy Mae Barry, 94, of 1406 Deer Ave., Panama City, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Blackwell, Pa., she moved here in 1945 and was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barry is preceded in death by her husband, Pat Barry. She is survived by two sons, Alvin R. Barry and wife Barbara of Panama City, Robert P. Barry and wife Raynell of Austin, Texas ; four grandchildren, Alan R. Barry, Gregory M. Barry and a very special granddaughter-in-law, Pam, all of Panama City, Diane Carr and husband Ted of New Orleans, La., and Donna Barry of Salt Lake City, Utah; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the Southerland funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Walter Lee Bowden Sr., 69, of 2204 E. 16th Court, surrounded by his loving family, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2000. He had been a resident here since 1947 moving here from Alabama. He was a retired boat captain and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Bowden. He is survived by his wife, Betty Dudley Bowden of Panama City; five children, Randy Pierce of Tallahassee, Gloria Jean Morrison and her husband, Donald, Walter Lee Bowden Jr. and his wife, Judy, Julie Ann Mathias and her husband, Michael, and David Allen Bowden and his wife, Tina L., all of Panama City; 10 grandchildren, Michael Tillerson, Thomas Tillerson, Sabrina Tillerson, David Bowden II, B.J. Bowden, Jennifer Bowden, Walter Bowden, Christopher Pierce, Kevin Pierce, Michael Mathias; 2 great-grandchildren, Brittany Tillerson, Michael Tillerson; and numerous other relatives and close friends. Mr. H.C. Conley, 63, a native of Wewahitchka, passed away early Friday morning, March 24, 2000. He was born March 24, 1936, in Calhoun County. He is survived by a son Tommy of Jacksonville, a daughter, Susie of Jacksonville; and two sons, Hank and Josh of Wewahitchka; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will he held at 3 p.m. CST Monday, March 27, 2000, at the First Baptist church of Wewahitchka, conducted by the Rev. Mike Stroud. Interment will follow in the family plot in Jehu Cemetery. The visitation will be held this evening, March 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. CST.
