Mrs. Myrtle "Mutt" Brogdon, 76, of 536 Springfield Ave., in Panama City passed away Saturday Feb. 26 in a local hospital. Mrs. Brogdon had been a lifelong resident of Bay County. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Brogdon is survived by a son, Doug Brogdon and his wife Brenda of Panama City Beach; three daughters: Willa Jo Earnest, Ellen Olivia Retherford and Donna Brantley with her husband Charles, all of Panama City; a sister, Myrtice Johnson of Panama City; brother-in-law, John Thomas Brogdon of Panama City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday Feb. 29 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.C. Warren officiating. Internment will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Charlie Ward, James Ward, Mike Lisenby, Chris Ramer, T.G. Kelley and J.T. Brogdon. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Crow and Charles Brantley. Mrs. Alberta (Bert) W. Anderson, 92, of 519 E. 13th St., died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Gulf Coast Medical Center. She was a native of Fayetteville, N.C. but was a longtime resident of Bay County. Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held Saturday, March 4, at 1 p.m. in Greater Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Newton, officiating. Mr. Harry Shaheen Deen of 819 Huntingdon Road., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at a local hospital. He was born in Mahtarah, Lebanon, on April 5, 1909. He came to the United States when he was three years old. He had been a resident of the area since 1970, coming here from St. Paul, Va. Mr. Deen was a member of the Kazim Shrine Temple in Roanoke, Va. He was a devoted family man, and loving father, and lived by the golden rule. Mr. Deen is survived by his wife, Adele R. Deen; four daughters: Nadia D. Gorman, L. Adele Leslie and her husband Robert H. Leslie, Amelia D. Brown and her husband C. Lynn Brown, and Ada Afaf Yorde; three sons: Kemal Harry Deen and his wife Maj, the Rev. Omar T. Deen and his wife Sandra, and Fred Fareed Deen; 16 grandchildren: Adele el Yorde, Said Yorde, Leila el Yorde, Aida Yorde, Jeffrey Duane Deen, Thomas Fred "Dino" Deen, Freddy Deen, Delilah Dennis, Mary Adele Weiss, Thomas Omar Deen, Amelia Nazeera Deen, Norman Leslie, Kemal Leslie, Tyrone Leslie, Stella Braham, and Robert H. Leslie Jr.; and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, March 3 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She was a nurse and Presbyterian by faith. Mrs. Farnum is survived by one son, Glen Farnum and wife Mary Ellen of Hisperia, Calif.; one daughter, Kathryn Hancock of Lynn Haven; five grandchildren: Race Foster, Lance Hancock, Janet Toda, Karen Surmani and Julie Artopoeus; eight great-grandchildren: Race W.
