Ms. Mary Evelyn Harris, age 79, of 1507 Beck Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1943, coming here from Opp, Ala. Mrs. Harris had been employed with Margaret Fashions and was Baptist by faith. She is survived by her daughters, Trish Russell and her husband Kyle of Prattville, Ala., and Kay Myers and Donnie of Panama City; a son, Philip Roy Harris and Joyce of Lynn Haven, Fla.; brothers, Recho W. Mack and his wife Hazel of Panama City, and Henry Winton Mack and Marguerite of Bainbridge, Ga.; grandchildren: Vicky Harris Moody and her husband Mark, Stacy Davis and Danny, Jason Myers, Phillip Russell and Brook, Chris Myers, Loris Childree and her husband Johnny, and David Reese and Sebrina; a special great-grandson, Jordan Davis; great-grandchildren: Jessica Childree, Brook Childree, and Marissa Sullivan; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Mauren Beatle, Maudie, and Mattie. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Harrison and the Rev. David Halstead officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. A special thank you to Dr. T. Frank Syfrett, Dr. Purohit, the staff and nurses at Gulf Coast Medical Center, 3, North, ICU, and Step-Down. The family will be staying at the home of Recho Mack, 1309 Fairland Ave., Panama City, FL.

KEVIN PEREZ
Mr. Kevin Perez, age 38, of 6604 Lake Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area for more than 20 years. Mr. Perez was a devoted father and is survived by his sons, Dylan Perez and Reno Perez and their mother Jenny Perez, all of Panama City Beach, Fla.; his parents, Julius and Anne Perez of Callaway, Fla.; a sister, Helen Perez of Callaway; brothers, Steven Perez and his wife Monica of Callaway and Robert Perez of Springfield; and a special friend: Dee. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jack Hankins officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Feb. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

WILLIE MAE PERKINS
Mrs. Willie Mae Perkins, 87, of Vernon, Fla., passed away Feb. 13, 2000, at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley. Visitation will be held today, Feb. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Hammack and the Rev. Lavelle Enterkin officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, Johnny R. Perkins of Vernon; sons, Jimmy Perkins of Vernon and Ronald Perkins of Pensacola; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Glenn of Vernon; half-brothers: John Alfred Kolmetz of Caryville, Henry Helton Kolmetz of Panama City, Doyle Kolmetz of Fort Worth, Texas , Victor Kolmetz of Crestview; half-sisters: Bertha Jean Padgett of Vernon, Everlye Bryant of Fort Worth, Alscie Strickland of Ebro; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by two sons, Wallace L. Carter and Huell Perkins.

FRANK DAVID SIMPSON SR.
Frank David Simpson Sr., 59, of Panama City Beach and formerly of Waterbury, Conn., left this world unexpectedly Monday morning, Feb. 14, 2000, at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Known as Grandpa and Papa to his granddaughters, Angelica Marie Pereira (his little Angel) and Genevieve Marie(ski) Kunkel, he will be missed by many and loved by all. Having lived in Panama City Beach with his loving wife, Pamala Louise Simpson and his constant companion, Snowball, for 13 years, Frank pursued his hobbies of fishing, gardening, garage saling, making sausage and spending every waking moment with his granddaughters (the lights of his life). Frank was born in Waterbury to Adeline and George Simpson on Sept. 28, 1940. Frank "The Moving Man" was employed as a truck driver for nearly four decades before retiring to Bay County. He is preceded in death by mother, Adeline; sisters, Barbara and Susan; brothers, Richard and Donald. He has left behind to cherish his memory his wife, Pam; children, Kim Simpson-Pereira, Deborah Kunkel and husband, Daryl, Deanna Simpson and Frank Simpson Jr.; grandchildren, Angel and Genny-o; father, George Simpson Sr.; sisters, Eleanor McDonald, Louise Hines and Donna Carpentier; brothers, George Simpson Jr., Roger Simpson; and "children" David, Christopher, and Scott Simpson. Also, an abundance of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., today, Feb. 16, at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with loving words from Brother Si Mathison. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Shands Hospital Neonatal unit in Gainesville in memory of Frank Simpson Sr. "Dad, you will be so missed, see you later alligator ... "

NANCY JO SPENCE
Nancy Jo Spence, 39, passed over into glory Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000. Nancy Spence was born to Rod and Florence Learned in Tucson, Ariz. Nancy later moved to Panama City, Fla., where she married her devoted husband Charles Spence. Nancy attended Faith Christian Church where she was an active member serving God under the leadership of Pastor Mark Bishop. She served in the United States Air Force for 12 years, and later pursued a career as a claims analyst. Nancy was loved by many and she loved many. But first and foremost she loved God, and now she joins Him in the Kingdom of Heaven. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories; husband, Charles Spence; daughter, Shawan Patterson; parents, Rod and Florence Learned; three sisters: Susan Manchester, Janet Learned and Robyn Talbott; one brother, Bob Learned and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services for Nancy Spence will be held Thursday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. in Faith Christian Family Church, Panama City Beach with Minister L. Smedley presiding.

Ms. Ruth Andress, age 88, of 1213 Emory Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at a local nursing home. She was Methodist by faith and worked in the hotel industry. Ms. Andress is survived by her sister, Mrs. Eva Raike of Panama City; and many nieces and nephews.

BENJAMIN GREEN BUSH
Mr. Benjamin Green Bush, age 90, of 3615 E. 7th St., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at a local nursing center. He has been a resident of the area for 18 years, coming here from Gainesville, Fla., and was self-employed as a landscaper. Mr. Bush served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a member of the Orange Hill Methodist Church in Washington County, Fla. Mr. Bush is survived by his sister, Mary Whaley of Panama City; a brother, Counce Bush of Pensacola, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at Orange Hill Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Dalton officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, today, Feb. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.

MARY CARROLL MIRIZIO
On Sunday February 6, 2000, Mary Carroll Mirizio of 2601 Ferol Lane, Lynn Haven found peace and began her journey to be with our Lord. All who knew her well will feel a deep sense of loss at her passing, but her extraordinary kindness, strength, courage, humor, and faith will be with us forever. She followed her beloved husband of 27 years, Stephen Michael Mirizio. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother to her son, Thomas and Nora Mirizio and their children Celeste and BethMary of LeRoy, Minn.; her daughter, Frances and Todd Olds and their son Emmett of Palm Harbor, Fla.; her daughter, Rosemary and Craig Cazenave and their daughters Jennifer and Danielle of Lynn Haven, Fla.; her daughter, Stephanie Scarborough and her daughter Cody of Winter Park, Fla.; her son, Stephen Mirizio and his children Rachelle and Stephan of Winter Park; her son, Vincent and Betsy Mirizio of Jacksonville, Fla., and her son Joseph Mirizio of Orlando, Fla. Mary was a loving sister to her brothers John and William Carroll, and her sisters Johanna, Lisa and Roseanne Carroll, all of whom reside in California. She adored her extended family including: Fred and May Cazenave, Rick Blandin, Frank Scarborough, Deborah Tucker, as well as Jane Keller, Jane Sapoznikoff, Teresa and Teri Powell, Terry Sistrunk, Helen Gregor, Diana Roberts, Nancy Vitti, Joe Burleson, RN., Lori Lascivita, RN., Nancy Ackerman, RN., Don and Carmen McBrayer, Paula Moon, and Kathy Majka. Mary was a native of New York and moved to Winter Park, Fla., in 1972. In 1989, she moved to Lynn Haven where she spent the past 11 years living with her daughter Rosemary "Rose" Cazenave and her family. Mary dedicated the remaining years of her life helping Rose with her physically challenged granddaughter Danielle and her sister Jennifer. She was a member of Palo Alto Church of Christ and saw only the good in everyone she knew. She never let obstacles stand in her way; saying "If there's a will, there's a way". Come celebrate her life in a memorial service which will be held at Palo Alto Church of Christ on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. Her friend and minister, Don McBrayer, will conduct services. We invite all who loved her, and were touched by her life to attend the service and afterwards joining the family for lunch at the church.
