Antanas Janonis, age 74, of Sunnyhills, Fla., passed away at his residence Friday, Feb. 4, 2000. He had been a resident of Sunnyhills for the past five years, coming from Darren, Ill. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Funeral services will be today, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Francis Szczykutowicz officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery
with Brown Funeral Home directing. Survivors are his wife, Julia Janonis of Sunnyhills; one daughter, Ingrid Schechel of Naperville, Ill; two sisters, Ksavera Jancys of Dareau, Ill and Danute Gogelis of Lithunia.

Mr. George Allen Keith, 82, of Lynn Haven, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000. A native of Blakely, Ga., Mr. Keith had lived in Lynn Haven for the past 61/2 years, moving there from Apalachicola. He retired as the assistant director of the James Haley Veterans Administration Hospital in Tampa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with Company "E" 106th Engineers National Guard, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and was a member of St. Michael Angelican Catholic Church in Panama City. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Margie Marshall Keith of Lynn Haven; two daughters, Frances L. Keith of Crawfordville and Annelle Keith Blanchett of Tallahassee; one brother, John D. Keith of Pensacola; one sister, Lena James Thompson of The Woodlands, Texas ; four grandchildren: Margie Quillman and Patricia Keith-Minasian, both of Tallahassee, George Keith Thompson of Crawfordville and Paul Scott Blanchett of Live Oak; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. EST (9 a.m. CST) in Kelley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery
in Apalachicola, with military honors observed graveside. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael Angelican Catholic Church in Panama City.

Mrs. Charlotte Evelyn McCusker, age 64, of 271 Sims Ave., Callaway, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000 at her home. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the area. Mrs. McCusker was a member of the Callaway Assembly of God Church, auxiliary president of the East Side Camp of the Gideons and the Bosom Buddies of the American Cancer Society. She was also nominated for the Jefferson Award. Mrs. McCusker was a devoted wife for 48 years, a mother, and grandmother. She was survived by her husband of 48 years, James R. McCusker of Callaway; daughters, Diana Schwoerer and her husband Ed of Callaway and Pamela McCusker of Callaway; a son, Randy McCusker and his wife Tina of Callaway; mother, Essie Robbins of Bayou George; grandchildren: Joshua and Jennifer Schwoerer, James Marshall and Jessica McCusker; sisters, Myra Elliott and Teresa Jensen, both of Panama City; and brothers: David Robbins of Lynn Haven, Jack Robbins of Fountain and Joe Robbins of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her father, William Benson Robbins and a brother, Larry Robbins. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Callaway Assembly of God with the Rev. Bobby Thompson, the Rev. Wiley T. Davis and the Rev. Dewey Myers. Interment will follow at Callaway Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pall bearers are: Butch Blanks, Bill Langley, Harold McFatter, Spencer Beach, Curtis Kent, Ryan Caporale, Scott Lingerfeld and Danny Vinkler. Mr. Shelly Wade "Pappy" Smith, 92, of 1117 Frankford Ave., Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in a local hospital. He was born in Dale County, Ala. Mr. Smith moved to Panama City in 1953 and was employed by the State of Florida as a park ranger and a member of the St. Andrews Methodist Church. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mrs. Verlie Smith; two sons, Ben Grady Smith and wife Betty of Panama City, Jennings Earl Smith and wife Jeanette of Dothan, Ala.; three sisters: Martha Paremore of Napier Field, Ala., Rebecca Lamb of Frost Proof, Fla., Grace Bennett of Bozier, La.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Robert Edward Whirley, age 78, of 5804 N. Lakewood Drive, Panama City, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000 at his home. He has been a resident of the area for most of his life. Mr. Whirley was a member of Callaway Baptist Church and worked as the Housing Referral Manger at Tyndall Air Force Base. Mr. Whirley served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an avid local bream and bass fisherman. He was a loving husband to the late Frances Whirley and a loving father to his son, Dr. Robert Gary Whirley and his wife Loreen of Santa Rosa, Calif. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 9 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Carr officiating. Mrs. Ruby K. Anderson, age 89, of 3611 Transmitter Rd., Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at her residence. She has been a resident of the area since 1932, coming here from Geneva County, Ala. and was Baptist by faith. She had been employed by Bay Medical Center. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Markley of Panama City and Fountain Hills, Ariz.; a sister, Juarene Henderson of Panama City, Fla.; brothers: Harry Sasser of Orlando, Fla. and Joe Sasser of Dothan, Ala.; granddaughters, Janice Lehman and her husband Fred of Sherman, Texas and Brenda LaRusso and her husband Dr. Phil of Folsom, Calif.; six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda Markley.
