Mr. Julian Gustav "Buz" Boltz, 64, of Panama City, Fla., died Christmas Eve ina local hospital. Born in Greenwood, Ind., he moved here in 1970 from Charleston, S.C. He was an electronics technician in communications with Precision Communications. He was a veteran of Vietnam and retired Master Sergeant with the U.S.A.F. after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Lions Club of Panama City and graduated from Center Grove High School in 1953. Mr. Boltz is preceded in death by a a sister, Leda Mae Smith. He is survived by his wife, Runay L. Boltz of Panama City; one brother, Charles D. "Chuck" Boltz and wife Dortha Sue of Greenwood, Ind.; two nephews, Steven Boltz and wife Martha of Indianapolis, Ind. and Scott Boltz and wife Jayne of Kokomo, Ind. A memorial service will be conducted today, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Kirkland officiating. Mrs. Janie Sykes Davis, age 90, of 1206 W. 22nd St., Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1947 coming from Enterprise, Ala. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and a member of Central Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 73 years, Mr. Carl W. Davis of Panama City; a son, Mr. Jimmy C. Davis and wife Ellen B. of Panama City; a daughter-in-law, Ms. Geraldine Blankship Davis of Pace, Fla; five grandchildren: Dennis W. Davis, Sherry Ann Dawson, Reggie Davis, Terry C. Davis, and Troy D. Davis. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by a son, Wayne L. Davis. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Central Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Don Shoots and the Rev. T.A. Green officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 28 at the funeral home.

Wanna Opal "Pete" Lynn, 63, of 313 South Star Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Dec. 27, 1999, in her home. She was a former Realtor for St. Andrew Bay Realty. She had been a resident of Bay County for 19 years moving here from Merced, Calif. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Ann Perry. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence A. Mr. Morris Edward Parrish, 68, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at the home of his daughter in Starke, Fla. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and retired from Stone Container and the Florida National Guard. He was also a member of Harry Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 314 and Shaddai Shrine Temple. Mr. Parrish is survived by a daughter, Karen King and husband Rodney of Starke, Fla.; two step-grandsons, Rodney and Rickey Kings of Starke; one sister, Mary Lou Covington of Gainesville, Ga.; two brothers, Houston Parrish of Panama City and Gene Parrish of West Palm Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred. Melvin officiating. Vashti Carter Peterson, 85, of Panama City, died Dec 26, 1999, in a St. Petersburg, Fla., hospital. She was born in Greenhead, Fla., in Washington County. She graduated from Vernon High School and attended Florida State College for Women. She taught school in Bay County in the early thirties, before she married and has lived in Panama City since then. She loved history and geneology. She was active in the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of American Revolution, Daughters of 1812, Daughters of Washington County Sheriffs, Panama City Garden Club, Home Extension Club, Washington County Historical Society, Charter member of Bay County Historical Society and the Gainer Reunion Committee. She was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles E. Peterson; brother, Claude Carter and sister, Barbara Scott. She is survived by one son, Charles Carter Peterson and his wife, Joyce of Southport; one daughter, Elizabeth Gerths and her husband Everett of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one brother, Fitzhugh Carter of Greenhead, Fla.; six grandchildren: Carlena Jackson and her husband Charles of Monticello, Theresa Stubbs and her husband Kenneth of Drifton, Fla., Teresa Brumbeley and her husband Doyle of Wacissa, Fla., Charles James Peterson of Monticello, Pamela Hemmel and her husband Curtis of Palmetto, Fla. and Kimberly Kent and her husband Lee of Knoxville, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren: Michael and Crystal Stubbs, Jason and Daniel Brumbeley. Betty Jean Ross, 73, of 705 Camellia Avenue, Parker, died Dec. 26, 1999, in a local hospital. She worked in the personnel office at the Maas Brother Corporate Office. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1988, moving here from Tampa, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Ross, who died in July of this year. Mrs. Mavis V. Wicker, age 81, of Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, in Panama City. Born on Sept. 13, 1918, in Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Will Steele and Eva Munn Steele. She had been living in Panama City for the past 25 years. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of the Christian Church in Bayou George, Fla. Mrs. Wicker was preceded in death by her husband Bill Wicker and one son, William Darrell Wicker. Mrs. Wicker is survived by two daughters: Sylvia A. Moss and husband Duron (Bean) Moss of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., and Deloris Annette Scheller and husband Bill of Bayou George, Fla.; five grandchildren: Ricky Moss and wife Tami of Bonifay, Fla., Nick Moss and wife Susan of Montgomery, Ala., Tracey Yancey and wife Natalie of Orlando, Fla., Shanna Ray and husband Iston Ray of Panama City, Fla., and Eric Etress of Bayou George, Fla.; three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bessie M. Widincamp, age 86, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at a local nursing home. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City and Protestant by faith. She is survived by husband, Arthur P.
