Mrs. Ora Lee Jones Byrd, 84, of 1108 Cypress Ave., died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, in a local hospital. She was a native of Florala, Ala., and a resident of Panama City for many years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She was very active in several auxiliaries in the church until her health failed. She is survived by her husband, Milton Byrd of Panama City; two granddaughters, Henrietta Cobb and Tempe Long both of Lakeland; two great-granddaughters, Shangaan Thomas (Carlos) and Shelnika Cobb both of Panama City; three great-great-granddaughters; a godson, Jonathan Wilson Jr.; goddaughter, Marvie Jones; five sisters-in-law: Edith Speights, Floriene Thomas (Early), Miriam Byrd, Rose A. Byrd and Margaret Byrd; two brothers-in-law, Henry Byrd and Lonzo Byrd; two step-sons, Johnny Byrd and Charles E. Byrd (Laura); a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Byrd will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. in Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerome Williams, Pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time. Mr. Charlie Worth Jordan, age 82, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at his home. He has been a resident of the area since 1974, coming here from Lafayette, Ga. Mr. Jordan was the owner/operator of the Dairy Dip, the forerunner of the Dairy Queens and McDonalds. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Panama City Beach and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Jordan is survived by his daughter, Charlene McCall and her husband W. R. of Columbus, Miss.; two sons: Charles Jordan and his wife Jan of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Howard Jordan and his wife Kim of Jackson, Miss.; a sister, Sue Ellison of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ruth H. Jordan. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 14 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Love in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Jerrell Hugh Stephens, 83, of 1343 Nassau St., Southport, died Saturday Dec. 11, 1999, in a local nursing home. He was a retired truck driver, working 35 years for Mayflower moving company. He had been a resident here for 65 years. He was a retired ordained minister. He is survived by three sons: Charles Stephens and his wife Carolyn of Dothan, Ala., Gerald Stephens of Bayou George and the Rev. Robert E. Stephens and his wife Judy of Dover, Fla.; sister, Mary Ellis of Southport; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. William "Buck" Kay, 43, of Panama City died Dec. 14, 1999, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He is a native of Panama City and Baptist by faith. Mr. Kay was employed at Southeastern Refractors as a construction foreman. He is survived by his wife, Mandy Kay of Panama City; son, Ryan Kay of Panama City; mother, Leone Kay of Panama City; one brother, Michael Kay of Panama City and one sister, Lorna Williams of Panama City. He is predeceased by his father. A memorail service will be held at William "Buck" Kay's home Saturday, December 18 at 3 p.m.

William Hugh McEnally, 74, of Panama City died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999 at his home. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1980, moving here from Cleveland, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired owner of Control Components Company and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Elizabeth McEnally of Panama City; a son, Ronald William McEnally of Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter, Kathleen Ann Chapin and her husband, Doug of Chargrin Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren, Daniel Chapin and Wendy Chapin Bolakowski and her husband, John; a great-grandson, Michael Bolakowski; his mother, Anne Jacobson of Newport Beach, Calif.; a brother, Jack Wolcott McEnally and his wife, Roseann of Menifee, Calif., a sister, Lassie Jean Mayfield and her husband, Jim of Huntington Beach, Calif., and three step-sons: Joseph Papalco of St. Charles, Ill., Mark Papalco of Cleveland, Ohio and Kenneth Papalco of Willowick, Ohio.
