Alex Williams (better known as Preacher), 67, of Malone died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at his residence.

He is survived by: two sons, Elmer Williams of Malone and Vince Williams of Pensacola; a daughter, Ollie Williams of Bascom; a step-daughter, Joyce Smith of Malone; two sisters, Lenzie Miley of Malone and Essie Hutchinson of Elizabeth, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at noon at the St. Luke AME Church in Malone with the Revs. Reba Sorey, W. Baxter, K. Smith and J. Garrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will lie at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Vann Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Kay Alene Griffin Delsignor, 80, of Cottondale died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, in Marianna.

She was born Sept. 27, 1923 in Chester, W.Va. She left Ohio at a young age after graduating high school to start a career, moved to Washington , D.C., where she worked at the Pentagon. She later took her nurses training at Walter Reed Hospital during World War II. Her career took a back seat and she moved to Ohio to get married and raise her children. After a time, Mrs. Delsignor moved to Florida and worked for the Jr. Food Stores for many, many years where she worked her way up to district manager.

She was preceded in death by: her loving husband of 43 years, Patrick Delsignor; and three brothers, Vernon, Gordon and Gilbert Griffin.

She leaves behind: her son, Don Delsignor and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl of Cottondale; her daughter, Cynde Tuggle and son-in-law, Gale, of Tampa; two brothers, George Griffin and Phil Griffin, both of Ohio; two sisters, Ellen Moore of W.Va. and Linda Howell of South Carolina; two grandsons, Michael Tuggle of North Carolina and Sean Delsignor of Cottondale; two granddaughters, Nicole Delsignor of Tallahassee, and Madalien Delsignor Joyner of Cottondale; one great-granddaughter, Vallari Kay Joyner of Cottondale; and many nephews and nieces. She will be greatly missed by family and friends who will always love her.

The funeral will be held Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Sharkey officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 1, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lillian Lucille Bennett Hunt of Marianna, 91, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in the Marianna Convalescent Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hunt was born in Dellwood, living most of her life in Jacksonville, Fla. She moved back to Marianna in 1999. She was a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Jacksonville, a housewife, loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Hunt is survived by one daughter, Polly Ann Richards and her husband, Junior, of Marianna; one son, Edward Earl "Jaybird" Hunt of Marianna; one foster son, Lonnie Scott Walker and his wife, Sandy, of Jacksonville; two brothers, R.D. Bennett and his wife, Jackie, of Greenwood, and Hiram Bennett and his wife, Nettie Joe, of Sneads; one brother-in-law, John W. Lawrence, of Two Egg; one sister-in-law, Edith Hunt Whitten, of Marianna; two grandchildren, Mark J. Richards of Marianna and Jennie Ann Hunt Dean and her husband, Gary, of Marianna; two great-grandchildren, Mark Junior Richards II and Josh Dean of Marianna; and extended family, Estelle Richards of Marianna, Conrad White and his wife, Crystal, and daughter Coral of Marianna, and Bunny White of Marianna.

Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Hunt, and a son, Larry F. Hunt.

The funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 3, at 9:30 a.m. at the Lord Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robin Jumper officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Greenwood Baptist Cemetery, Greenwood, Fla.

The family will receive friends today, Sunday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lord Funeral Home.

Kay Alene Griffin Delsignor, 80, of Cottondale, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, in Marianna.

The funeral will be held today, Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Sharkey officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ethan Wilson Barwick, born Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, joined Jesus on Oct. 28. He was the infant son of Ralph and Lory Barwick of Princeton, W.Va., formerly of Marianna.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Collins Barwick in 1995.

He is survived by: his parents, Ralph and Lory Barwick; a sister, Mary Barwick, all of Princeton, W.Va.; grandparents, Rudolph and Martha Barwick of Marianna, and Hoyt and Bertha McBrayer of Sneads; aunts and uncles, James and Cheryl Barwick of Grand Ridge, Alice and Jerry Tharpe of Marianna, Jennifer and Matthew Barfield of Macclenny, Paula and John Spitzer of Macclenny, and David McBrayer of Tallahassee; and cousins, James Barwick, Elizabeth Barwick, Faith Tharpe, Candace Tharpe, Michelle Tharpe, and Cody Barfield.

A graveside funeral was held Monday, Nov. 3, at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Rudolph Barwick and James Barwick officiating. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel handled the arrangements.

Russell Frederick (Freddie) Golden, 59, of Graceville died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born Jan. 29, 1944 in Graceville and lived all of his life in Graceville. He worked for 34 years for West Florida Electric and had been retired for the past 4 years.

He is survived by: his wife, Gwendolene Golden of Graceville; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Shea Golden of Graceville; one daughter, Tina Marie Pickron of Graceville; his mother, Winifred Marie Golden of Graceville; two brothers, Gerald Golden and James Golden, both of Graceville; three sisters, Jeanette Scott of Bartow, Joan Bader of Boulder, Colo., and Barbara Cruthfield of Dothan, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Lillian and Katrina Golden of Graceville, and Rusty and Anna Pickron of Graceville.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Scott of Christ Memorial Baptist Church of Lakeland and the Rev. Bob Johnson of First Baptist Church of Graceville officiating. Burial will be in Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Graceville.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home today, Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 6 until 8:30 p.m.

Mayfield Murdock June, 89, of Marianna died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, in the Jackson Hospital.

She had lived in this area for the past 15 years.

She is survived by her loyal and devoted friends, Sharon and Rich Alexander of Greenwood.

Memorialization will be by cremation. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Rodgers Wade Roulhac, 59, of 4470 Jackson Street in Marianna died Saturday evening, Nov. 1, 2003, in the Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

He was a native of Jackson County and a resident of Escambia County for many years.

He is survived by: his mother, Lillie Roulhac of Marianna; one brother, Carl Granberry of West Palm Beach; and two aunts, Ella Roulhac and Annie Roulhac, both of Marianna.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Peoples Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Wooden officiating. Burial will be in the Roulhac Cemetery in Marianna with Peoples Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie at the funeral home chapel two hours prior to the funeral.

Mary Alice Purvis, 82, a former resident of Slocomb (Malvern community) died Monday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2003 at the home of a daughter in Marianna after an extended illness.

She was born in Geneva County, Ala. on Sept. 1, 1921 to the late Allie Warren and Effie Newton Warren. She lived in the Malvern community prior to moving to Marianna to reside with her daughter, Betty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Purvis, in November 2002.

She is survived by: three daughters, Betty Peacock of Marianna, Marie Livingston of Tallahassee, and Jackie Watson and her husband Bob of Dothan; one son, Robert Allie Purvis of Marianna; a brother, G. W. Warren of Easley, S.C.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, in Malvern Baptist Church with the Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The body will be placed in the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Malvern Baptist Church or the church of your choice. The body will be placed in the church one hour before service time. The family will be at Mrs. Purvis' home at 647 Purvis Road, Slocomb.

Earlene B. Evans, 78, of Chattahoochee died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, in Marianna.

A graveside service will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 6, at 9 a.m. CST at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee. James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will direct.

Cullie Mae Calloway, 82, of Campbellton's Holyneck community and a life long resident of Jackson County died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larrow Calloway Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children: three daughters, Jessie R. Glover of Tampa, Marie Harris and her husband, Russell of Marianna, and Retha M. Keys and her husband, Charles of Marianna; two sons, Roosevelt Calloway and his wife, Cythina of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Raymond A. Calloway of Campbellton; one aunt, Ida Henry of Miami; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Holyneck Missionary Baptist Church in Campbellton with the Rev. Richard Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.

The body will lie at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 7, at McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel.

Judith Ann Barfield, 55, of Freeport died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003 at her home.

She was a lifetime resident of Bay County and was Pentecostal by faith.

She is survived by: her daughter, Bobbi Jean Silver of Bruce; two sons, Scott Silver of Panama City and Mark Silver of Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Miriah Reddick, Sarah Silver, and Emily Silver; sisters and brothers, Ethel Plotke of Bayou George, Dennis Barfield and his wife, Pat of Marianna, Margaret Butts of Altha, Terri Huggins, Buddy Barfield and his wife, Joyce, Ezella Creamer and her husband Early, Eugene Barfield and his wife Dolores, Tony Barfield and his wife Lovie Dale, Essie Lee Barnes, Tommy Barfield and his wife Brenda, Ephrom Barfield and his wife Cynthia and Bobby Ray Barfield, all of Southport; and a special sister, Joy Adams and her precious pet, Tasha.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Nixon Riley and Dennis Barfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 7, 2003 at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Ephrom and Cynthia Barfield, 1313 First Street in Southport.

Sidney Earl Adams, 75, of Marianna died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Jackson Hospital.

He was born in Cottonwood, Ala. He has lived in Jackson County for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Marianna Community Church.

He is survived by: his wife, Luvon Adams; one daughter, Dorothy Peacock and her husband, Ladone, all of Marianna; two sisters, Myrtle Jones of Cottonwood and Elaine Noblin of Malone; and one granddaughter, Toni Peacock of Marianna.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. CST Saturday, Nov. 8, at Maddox Chapel with the Rev. Ed Quattlebaum officiating. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 7, at the funeral home.
