Ms. Wanda Jean Laird, age 58, of Wildwood, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at her father's home in Panama City. She is survived by her son, Greg Laird and his wife Julie of North Pole, Alaska; a daughter, Cynthia Vi-Ann Knapp and her husband Steve of Phoenix, Ariz.; father, Wade Motley of Panama City, Fla.; sister, Jan Holley and her husband Charles of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Gerald Motley and his wife Betty; and grandchildren: Trevor Laird, Krystal Laird, and Jeremy Laird. Mr. Daniel S. "Danny" Minkey, age 17, of 7581 Yellow Bluff Road, Callaway, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, as the result of an automobile accident. Danny was a senior at Rutherford High School where he was on the weight lifting team and the camera crew for the football team. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and loved to explore the outdoors with his friends in his truck they called "The Beast". Danny's parents, family and many friends describe him as loving, kind, respectful, and sensitive. Danny was a Boy Scout, made his own fishing lures, and loved animals. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Danny is survived by his parents: Stephen and Joanne Minkey of Callaway, Fla.; a sister, Stacey Anne Minkey of Callaway, Fla.; maternal grandparents: Henry and Margaret Dudka of Henderson, Texas ; godparents (aunt and uncle), Frank and Gail Tamberino of Callaway, Fla.; uncle, William Minkey Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; aunt, Jeannette Ludwig of Baltimore, Md.; goddaughter, Anna Marie Robinson of Dale City, Va.; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Evelyn and William Minkey Sr. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Zalewski officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Laredo Ginn, Dakota Ginn, DaWayne Maddux, Andrew Josker, Ryan Botzong, Steven "Bubba" Walker, Josh Cosby, and Byron Willis. Capt. Robert E. (Bobby) Moore, passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Cameron, La., after suffering a heart attack. He was a resident of Panama City from 1941 through 1983 and a Bay County High Alumni. Mr. Moore is survived by two sons: Robert E. Moore Jr. and Gary Lee Moore of Dequincy, La. He was the grandfather of eight grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Jo Ann Stephenson of Panama City and Pat Kelly of Houston, Texas ; two brothers: Charles L. Smith of Panama City and Andrew Moore of Cameron, La. Bobby will be missed.

Mrs. Warene Addie Peoples, age 84, of 4419 N. Hwy. 231, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999 at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1995, coming here from Fort Walton Beach, Fla.. Mrs. Peoples was a member of the Hiland Park Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Gurtis Castleberry and husband Gene of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Thelma Wamble of Bonifay, Fla.; granddaughters: Angela Heil and husband J. R. of San Diego, Calif. and Teresa Black and husband Bill of Lynn Haven, Fla.; grandsons: Jim Castleberry of Atlanta, Ga. and David Peoples of Austin, Texas ; great-granddaughter: Alexandra Peoples of Pflugerville, Texas ; sisters-in-law: Annie Bell Gavin and Lurlene Gavin, both of Panama City, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Edna (Bill) McDaniel Rollins passed away, Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken S.C. She was a pioneer resident of Panama City the daughter of Former State Senator William Riley McDaniel and Sadie Stanfil McDaniel. She was a retired registered nurse at the Emergency Room at Southern Kraft Paper Mill. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Panama City. She was the widow of the late Joe Rollins. She is survived by a sister, Thelma McDaniel Key of Aiken S.C.; three nephews: Truby Shaw and his wife, Barbara of Chiefland, Fla., J.W. Gainer and wife Helen of Shalimar, Fla., H.M. Gainer and wife, Gloria of Birmingham; two nieces: Dorothy Whitehurst and Charlotte McCann of Aiken S.C. Mr. Alvie "Al" Smith, 88, of Cottondale died at his residence Monday afternoon, Nov. 29, 1999. He was a resident of this area since 1935 after moving from Elba, Ala. Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church of Cottondale where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a past president of Cottondale Kiwanis Club; a member of A.A.R.P. and loved his gardening and enjoyed squirrel and dove hunting in past times. Mr. Smith was a office manager of Kerr-McGee Fertilizer Co. in Cottondale. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Thelma "Dee" Smith of Cottondale; one daughter, Carole McDaniel and her husband John of Marianna; one sister, Izettie Mauldin of Elba, Ala.; several nieces and nephews. James Stringfellow, 88, of Panama City, died Nov. 29, 1999, in a local hospital. He was a retired major in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He was a resident here for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City and the Brothering Sunday School Class. He was a Mason in Montgomery, Ala., where he received the Fifty Year Pin. He was a Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Al Sihah Temple, in Macon, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Frances Stringfellow; stepson, Robert F. Shores, two stepdaughters: Renae Dykes, all of Panama City, and Terri Walker of Pace, Fla.; brother, D.C. Stringfellow Jr. of Houston, Texas ; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Frank R. Clark, 92, of Panama City, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999 in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1907 in Augusta, Ga. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1928 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Georgia Tech. After graduation, he went to work for the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey setting benchmarks in the Rocky Mountains. He then was employed by Western Electric for 37 years, where his major projects included communications for the DEW line and the SAGE air defense systems. He retired to Stuart, Fla., from Atlanta, Ga., in 1973 and later moved to Panama City in 1997. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Martha and one son, Captain Frank R. Clark, USAF. He is survived by one daughter, Susan C. Lester and her husband, David of Panama City; four grandchildren: Frank R. Clark of Williamsburg, Va., John C. Lester and his wife, Kimberly of Gainesville, Fla., Margaret L. Williams and her husband, Daniel of Yorktown, Va., and David D. Lester and his wife, Shirley of Alexandria, Va.; and three great-granddaughters: Sarah and Abigail Williams of Yorktown, Va., Julia Lester of Gainesville, Fla.
