RODRIGUEZ, Luis, 80, of Tampa passed away March 18, 2003. He is preceded in death by his wife Hortensia. He is survived by his loving children, Maria A. Fernandez and Luis Rodriguez; three grandchildren, Lisette Fernandez, Luis Miguel Rodriguez and Adrienne Fernandez. A native of Habana, Cuba he was a member of the Cuban Maristas Alumni Association. SCOTTY, Theodora Grimaldi, 92, of Tampa passed on to be with the Lord March 16, 2003. Teddy was the daughter of a Tampa Pioneer family. She was a graduate of Hillsborough High and then attended Florida State College for Women. She received a BA Degree from the University of Florida and her Masters Degree in education was from Columbia University in New York. She taught at Orange Grove Elementary and DeSoto Park Elementary. She enjoyed teaching in elementary education for over 40 years. Ms Teddy is survived by her nephews, Conrad C. ULLRICH, Franz A. `Tony`, Jr., 64, of Wauchula, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at his residence. He was born in Sebring and was a lifelong resident of Wauchula. He was owner and operator of Ullrich's Welding and Machine Shop and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He was President of the Board of Directors for Peace River Electric Cooperative, past board member of Hardee Parks & Recreation Board, and a founder of Pioneer Park Days. Mr. Ullrich was a US Army veteran, a member of Florida Flywheelers Antique Engine Club, and a member of BPOE #1700, Wauchula. Survivor are his wife of 41 years, Jenny A. COBB, Vera McMullen, 91, of Dade City, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at Pasco Regional Medical Center. A member of the Pioneer McMullen family, she was born in Pinellas County in 1911 to John and Alice McMullen. She moved to Orlando in 1939 after her marriage to Vance Cobb and moved back to Pinellas County in the early 1970's. In 1980, she moved to Dade City and was active in the Literacy Program and was a volunteer for both the Chamber of Commerce and the Dade City Hospital. She was a member of the Seminole United Methodist Church. Her passions were music and the outdoors and she was an avid piano player and gardener. She obtained her AA degree from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1985 at the age of 74. Survivors include a son, Judge Wayne Cobb of Dade City; a daughter, Jane Gergley of Winter Park, Florida; three brothers, Robert McMullen and Webster McMullen, both of Largo and Carl McMullen of New Port Richey; a sister, Betty Jean Johnson of Largo; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vance Cobb; a son, Gordon Cobb; and a granddaughter, Terri Sue Cobb. Funeral services will be held at Seminole United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 with Pastor John E. Denmark officiating. JONES, G.E. Herman, of Zephyrhills, Fla., formerly of Rock Hall, Maryland, died on March 19, 2003 at Royal Oaks Hospice Care Center in Dade City, Florida. He was 65. Born in Fairlee, Md. on April 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Herman Jones and Frances Louise Berger Jones of Chestertown, Md. Mr. Jones was a 1955 graduate of Rock Hall High School and in 1957 married Connie Lee Price of Rock Hall. They resided in Rock Hall where Mr. Jones worked with Jacks Service Station as a mechanic until 1979. Mr. Jones also during that period worked with B.W.I. Airport as a Fire Fighter and served in this capacity until 1991 when he retired as Lieutenant. Mr. Jones was a member of Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Department where he served in several offices including as Chief and Board of Directors. He also served as President of the Kent County Fire Chiefs Association and was a member of the Rock Hall United Methodist Church. Following his retirement he and his wife moved to Zephyrhills, Florida where he enjoyed volleyball, cards, dinner theatres, and playing games with family and friends. He was also a sports enthusiast. He was a member of the Southern Charm Church of Zephyrhills, Fla. In add ition to his mother and his wife of 46 years, he is survived by a son, Gary W. Jones of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a daughter, Vicki L. and her husband Samuel Lewis of Chestertown, Md.; three grandchildren: Samuel Lee, Cody, and Tori Lewis; a brother, Barry Wallace Jones of Rock Hall, Md. and his family, a sister Kay Frances Glenn of Havre de Grace and her family, and the family of his sister Dorothy Loui se Carroll who predeceased him in 1994. SMITH, Mary Bessenger Smith, 73, of Dade City, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 19, 2003. She was born on July 19, 1929, in Floral City. Florida and lived most of her life in Dade City. Mary Reid attended Stetson University and graduated from the Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans. She established the Little School Kindergarten and taught for many years, touching the lives of numerous children and their families. She retired after ten years on the staff of Zephyrhills High School. Mary Reid was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, serving primarily in the Children's Ministry. Mary Reid is survived by her husband, Terry Smith; her mother, Pearl Knight Bessenger; brother, Frank Bessenger (Melinda); daughters, Mary Leslie Olive (Jim) and Harriet Chase (Steve), sons Henry Auvil and Jon Auvil (Leslie); and nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Haley, Carlyn, and William Olive, Julia Knight and Reid Auvil, and Cadis, Sage, and Ivy Chase. CONE, Jean Ann Ramsdell, was reared in Plant City, moving to Tampa in 1951 when she married Douglas Poe Cone. She passed away March 20, 2003. She was a Member of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church which she served as Elder and President of Presbyterian Women. She was a Republican and a member of the Junior League of Tampa, serving as President and Sustainer of the Year, 1984. As a Tri Delta, she was President of the Tampa Alumna Chapter and outstanding member of the year, 1970. A Trustee Emerita of Berkeley Preparatory School, she had been President of the Ladies of Berkeley and President of the Berkeley Blazers, and also was Chairman of the Capital Campaign which built the present campus. A graduate of UNC - Chapel Hill, she was a past member of the National Alumni Association Board of Directors. She also served a term on the Tampa Sports Authority and was a member of the Bulldog Club of America, finishing two Champion Bulldogs. She was past director of the Board of the United Way and Tampa Museum of Art. She is survived by her husband, Douglas; daughter, Julianne Cone McKeel, her husband, Graham, and their two daughters, Marica and Genna; son, Douglas Jr. and wife Debbie, and the ir three children, Sadie, Douglas III and Charles William II; son, Rammy and wife, Linda, and their four children, Ashley, Carlee, Julian, and Chelsea.
