BROCK, Steven `Mark`, 33, of Dade City, died Wednesday, October 20, 2002 in Brooksville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Chapel Hill Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Memory Gardens. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, he had been a lifelong resident of Dade City. He is survived by one son, Joshua Brock of Dade City; one daughter, Christin Cessna of Dade City; two sisters, Kimberly Tait of Dade City and Jessie Riley of Dade City; his father, Earl Brock of Hazelgreen, Ky.; his grandmother, Jessie Holt of Dade City; four nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; and step-father, Thomas Yingling. Friends and family are requested to meet at Chapel Hill Gardens on Saturday at 1 p.m.

CARSON, Stewart Noel, 77, of Black River, New York and winter resident of Zephyrhills, died Monday, October 28, 2002 at East Pasco Medical Center in Zephyrhills. He was born in Watertown, New York and was a winter resident of Zephyrhills since 1988. He was a manager with New York Telephone Co. with 39 years of service and a US Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. Stwart was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Watertown, N.Y. and a 50 year member of Bethany Lodge #342, F&AM in Black River, N.Y. He was also a member and past Exaulted Ruler of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2035 in Gouverneur, N.Y.; a member of the Town & Country Golf Club in Dade City, and N.Y.; a member of the New York Telephone Pioneer Club; Past Commandant Marine Corps League in Watertown, N.Y.; and Past member of the Rotary Club in Gouverneur, N.Y., the VFW, the American Legion and the 4x4 Golf Club, all of Watertown, N.Y. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary J. Carson of Zephyrhills; daughter, Carolyn Stowe of Penfield, N.Y.; two sisters, Dorothy Trombley of Holley, N.Y. and Betty Jeffers of Watertown, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

DORNTON, Mary Louise 78, of Zephyrhills, passed away October 28, 2002 in Zephyrhills. Survived by her husband, Carl Dornton of Zephyrhills; two sons, Thomas Dornton of Arizona and Gary Dornton of Michigan; a daughter, Barbara Aubert of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Kevin, Brian and Craig all of Michigan; brother, Theodore Tucker of Michigan. Mary was a bookkeeper in a furniture store, and a member of the Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church. Born June 25, 1924 in Deaborn, Mich., she came to the Zephyrhills area 14 years ago from Michigan.

He was born January 27, 1924 in Agrigento, Italy and came here seven years ago from Chicago, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Angela; three sons, Sal, Joe and Sam, all of Chicago; three daughters, Carmella Fasano, Giuseppa D'Avolio and Anna Conforti all of Chicago; and two sisters, Anna Catalano and Rosalia Abbinante, both of Chicago; and 14 grandchildren. No services are planned.

FITZGERALD, Ruby C., 64, of Dade City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at Pasco Regional Medical Center. Born in Wainwright, Missouri, she moved here in February 2002. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. Mrs. Fitzgerald is survived by her husband of 15 years, Ed; one son, Chuck Payne of Inverness; three daughters, Vicky Hurshman of California, and Michelle Medick and Julie Dickson, both of Tampa; four brothers, Robert Carroll of Maui, Hawaii, Herbert Carroll of Cahokia, Illinois, Buddy Carroll and Jerry Carroll, both of Milstadt, Illinois; one sister, Faye Faskin of Houston, Texas ; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean; three daughters, Jeannine (James and Jeff) Gazella of Zephyrhills, Michelle Ambrose Gotthardt of Carroll, Ohio and Susan Gazella of Stuart, Fla.; three sons, Richard (Lisa) Gazella of Carson City, Mich., James Gazella Jr. of Crystal, Mich., Gerald (Lori) Gazella of Chesterfield, Mich. and; two brothers; six sisters; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services to be held later at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in San Antonio.

GILBERT, Shirley R., 71, of Hudson, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at her residence. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Florida seven years ago from Watertown, N.Y. She was the retired co-owner of Empsall's Department Store in Watertown after 37 years and was very well known as a fashion show coordinator. She was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Hudson and a past president of East Lake Landings Association. She is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann Reardon of Estes Park, Colorado, and Kathleen Gilbert of West Bend, Wisconsin; and two grandsons, Scott and Jeremy Reardon, both of Seminole, Fla. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2002 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: The Susan G. Groot Jr. of Mesa, Ariz., Dale Groot of Zephyrhills and Gary Groot of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Groot of Mesa, Ariz., Hunter Groot and Hayden Groot, both of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and a brother, James Adams of Zephyrhills. She was predeceased by a son, Wayne Groot. Services will be held 2 p.m. (Today), Friday, November 1, 2002 at Whitfield Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Don Lavallee officiating. Mrs. Groot was a Teachers Aide with the Public School System. She was born August 8, 1928 in Chicago, Ill., a Protestant, and came to the Zephyrhills area four years ago from Brooksville, Fla.

HAINER, Ruth Elaine, 78, of Zephyrhills, passed away October 30, 2002. Mrs. Hainer was born in Atlantic Mine, Michigan and moved to Zephyrhills in 1979 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Dade City, Florida. Survivors include her son, James Sies of Waukesha, Wisconsin; sister, Mary Kuusisto of Zephyrhills, Florida; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, at 2:30 p.m., November 2, 2002 in Dade City, Florida with Pastor Gary Logan officiating.

He is survived by his sister, Enid Graham of Cherry Valley, N.Y.; four nieces, Eileen Morton of Sharon Springs, N.Y., Claudia Constantino of Melbourne, Fla., Charlene Graham of Weatogue, Conn., and Gloria Seccomb of Collinsville, Conn.; and three nephews, Dennis Graham of Cold Springs, Texas , Douglas Graham of Ilion, N.Y., and Wayne Graham of Cherry Valley, N.Y. Mr. Herman was a Dairy Farmer, and a Protestant. Born April 5, 1917 in Rudd, Iowa, he moved to Zephyrhills in the early 1980's.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and came here 20 years ago from Richboro, Pa. He was a truck driver for Biters Trucking Co. North Brunswick, N.J. and a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a Presbyterian. His memberships include, American Legion Post #179, Clayton, N.Y.; Teamsters Local #107, Philadelphia, Pa. and Teamsters Local #701, North Brunswick, N.J. He is survived by his wife, Marian M. Kiker of New Port Richey; a son, Grant C. Kiker, Jr. of Fairless Hills, Pa.; a daughter, Debra Smith of Spring Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren, Heather Brown, Victoria AmRhein, Kelly and Grant Kiker III; and three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Raymond III and Megan Brown.

MALTBY, Myrtle A. , 97, of New Port Richey and formerly of Holiday, died Saturday, October 26, 2002 at home in New Port Richey. She was born in Lost Lake, Wisconsin and moved from Milwaukee, Wis. to Holiday in 1958 and then to New Port Richey in 2000. She owned a delicatessen. Myrtle was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild and the Hobby Club of Holiday, Fla. She was also a former member of Arts & Crafts Club of Tahitian Gardens in Holiday. There are no immediate survivors.

McAVOY, Donald T., 70, of Port Richey, passed away Oct. 30, 2002 at his residence. Born in Rochester, N.Y., he came here in 1971 from Rochester. He was a computer operator for Nielson Media Research Co. in Dunedin. He was of the Lutheran faith, U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea and a life member of V.F.W. Post #10167 in Holiday. Survivors include a son, Ernest McAvoy of Barstow, Calif.; two daughters, Pamela Poteat and Suzanne Lisk, both of Port Richey; his father, Peter McAvoy of Port Richey; a sister, Maryann Delehanty of Mesa, Arizona; two grandchildren, Danielle and Christopher Poteat of Brandon, Fla. Visitation will be Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9-11 a.m with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Bell Funeral Home. Interment will follow with military Honors at Cycadia Cemetery, Tarpon Springs.

MOUNT, Donald D., 53, of Dade City died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at his residence. Born in Miami, Florida he moved to this area two and a half years ago from Suwanee, Georgia. Mr. Mount was a manager in an auditing firm and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. A Funeral Service for Mr. Mount will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Oakley Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. just prior to the service on Saturday. Mr. Mount is survived by his wife, Roberta; two daughters, Cherie Minghani of Rock Springs, Georgia and Jennifer Mount of Keystone Heights, Fla.; two brothers, Douglas Mount of Boulder, Colorado and Dennis Mount of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his mother, Geneva Hinkle of Dade City, Fla.; and one grandson, Dylan Minghani of Rock Springs, Georgia.

PIKE, Paul Edward, Sr., 81, of Dade City, died Wednesday October 30, 2002. He was born in Blyeville, Arkansas and raised in San Antonio, Florida. He retired as a truck dispatcher after 45 years with Lykes - Pasco Packing. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Dade City as well as a 4th Degree Colorguard with San Antonio Knights of Columbus, Dan Cannon Assembly #1444. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Alma; son, Paul, Jr. and wife, Vera of Dade City; two daughters, Diane and husband, Al Heiler of Port Richey and Gail and husband, Fred Godfrey of Aripeka, Fla.; brother, Richard and wife, Lilly Pike of Clermont, Fla.; two sisters, Louise Johnson of Valdosta, Ga. and Leona and husband, Jim Baynes of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday (tonight) November 1, 2002 at the funeral home from 5:30-7 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rita Catholic Church in Dade City. All are invited to join the family for a covered dish luncheon in the church hall following Mass.

SALDO, Salvatore `Sal`, 75 of Spring Hill, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2002 at home. He was born in Queens, New York and came here 15 years ago from East Meadow, Long Island New York. He was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He was a WWII U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. He retired from Levitz Furniture, and was a member of the Gulf Coast Homing Club. Sal enjoyed pigeon racing, and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his brother, Anthony Saldo. He is survived by his beloved wife: Marie of Spring Hill; two daughters: Lisa Saldo of Spring Hill; Rosemarie and her husband, Kevin O'Kane of Red Hook, NY; one son: Anthony Saldo of Spring Hill; one sister: Genevieve Downey of Oldsmar; four grandchildren: Kerrin; Meghan; Anthony and Ryan. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on November 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Raymond O'Neill officiating. Sal will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell following the service.

She is survived by three sons, William Franklin, Hawthorne, Jack Franklin (Daisy), Riverview, and Raymond Franklin (Sharon), Lithia; five daughters, Hilda Wilford, Alpharetta Ga., Mary Tullis, Mulberry, Joann Keene (Hank), Lithia, Irene Greene, Buford, Ga., and Rosalyn Bedingfield (David), Montgomery, Ala.; two brothers, Milton Cook, North Carolina, and Woodrow Cook, Cairo, Ga.; three sisters, Gertrude Hooks, Cairo, Ga., Rosaline Mills, Cairo, Ga., and Wilma Hicks, Ochlocknee, Ga.; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. She was employed by Hillsborough County School System for 20 years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, 11 a.m., at Little Union Primitive Baptist Church, Lithia, Fla. Elder Steve Wilkinson will officiate. Interment to follow at Fellowship Cemetery. Family will receive friends, Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, 6 to 8 p.m. at Stowers Riverview Chapel. Her grandsons are to be pallbearers.

ASHBURN, Lois Bohannon, age 82, of Plant City, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2002. Mrs. Ashburn was predeceased by her husband, Sydney Ashburn; and her son, Leslie Ashburn. Survivors include three sons, Randall Ashburn of Ocala, Wayne Ashburn of Plant City and Larry Ashburn of Marshfield; one brother, Raymond Bohannon of Zephyrhills; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2002 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be on Saturday, 12:00 p.m. at Bloomingdale Cemetery with Reverend John Martin officiating.

He is survived by two sisters, Jewel Scott-Billingsley of Riverview, Fla. and Evelyn Toole of Lithia, Fla.; aunt, Hazel Hurst of Tampa, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a lifetime resident of Hillsborough County and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held at Stowers Riverview Chapel Friday, (today) November 1, 2002 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

DUBY, Gertrude (Bond), of Tampa and formerly of Plymouth, Mass., died Monday, October 28, 2002. Beloved wife of the late, Dr. Hyman Duby, Gertrude was the devoted mother of Dr. Robert A. and Emily Duby of Tampa and the late, Richard B. Duby; sister of Maurice Bond and the late, Eleanor, Abraham, and Jonas Bond; and the dear grandmother of Stephen, Jason, Scott and Ronn Duby. Graveside services will be at Sharon Memorial Park in Massachusetts on Sunday November 3, at 11:45 a.m. Memorial observance will be private. Remembrances may be made to a charity of one's choice.

FITZPATRICK, The Reverend Veronica `Bonnie`, died in Tampa, on October 29, 2002 due to complications from a motor vehicle accident on November 8, 2001. She is survived by her husband, David of Brandon; two daughters, Kellie Anderson and husband, Andrew of Scotland, Julie Dixon and husband, Derek of Tampa; sister, The Rev. Kay Price and husband, Wilbur of Ijamsville, Maryland; grandchildren, Madison Dixon, David `Tripp` Dixon and Rachel Anderson. Bonnie was born October 22, 1942 in Frederick, Maryland to Henry Russell Eury and Alice Estella Suter Eury. She was educated at Frederick High School, Towson State Teachers College (Maryland), Peabody College (Tennessee), Vanderbilt University (Tennessee) and University of the South at Sewanee (Tennessee). She received both her Masters of Education (1971) and Masters of Divinity (1990). A life-long educator, Bonnie taught special needs children at various schools in Nashville, Tennessee and Hillsborough County, Florida (1970-1979). In 1980, Bonnie was ordained a vocational deacon in the Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Southwest Florida. She served at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, Valrico, Florida and at St. Andrew's Episcopal, downtown Tampa, where she was Director of Christian Education. Latterly, she found much joy and fulfillment as Chaplain and teacher of Divinity at St. John's Parish Day School in Hyde Park, where she was a much loved and respected colleague, teacher and friend. Bonnie was involved with numerous charities for vulnerable individuals. Her achievements were many. She was well known for her quiet genero sity, unconditional love and abundant spirit. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed. A service celebrating Bonnie's life will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 509 E. Twiggs St., Tampa on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Spring, P. O. Box 4772, Tampa, FL 33677 or Joshua House, P.O. Box 1907, Lutz, FL 33548. These charities were especially close to Bonnie's heart.

GREENE, Barry I., 55, of Tampa, passed away on October, 28, 2002. Survivors include his mother, Adele; sister, Barbara Ellen Hoffmann; brother, Dr. Stuart A. Greene; and five nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Connie (Atkins); two sons, Harlen and Garland; two daughters, Teresa Stinson and Angela Woods all of Tampa; three brothers, Roger and Melvin Lambert of Florida and Joseph Darling; two sisters, Drema Hawkins and Rhonda Coulter all of Ohio; step-father, John Darling, and an aunt, Shirley Lowe of Huntington, W.Va.; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Darling (nee Carsey); grandparents, Samuel and Hazel Carsey; and his father, Virgil Hatfield. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Limona Cemetery.
