KING, Anne Preston Farrior , of Hilton Head Island, S.C., died October 11, 2002 after a protracted illness at her home, Argyll, in Sea Pines Plantation. Anne Preston has been a resident of Hilton Head since 1977. She was the former Anne Preston Farrior born in 1929 in Tampa, Florida. She was graduated from Randolph Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg, Virginia, then received her teaching degree from the University of Florida. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia after marrying Mitchell C. King, Jr. There, she was active in Daughters of the King and teaching Sunday school at Saint Phillips Cathedral. She was also active in The Junior League of Atlanta, Mimosa Garden Club, United Way, Egleston Hospital, The Society of the Lee's of Virginia and The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. She traveled throughout the United States with Lee, one of her three daughters, playing National Mother/Daughter tennis competitions. After moving to Hilton Head she and her husband became active in St. Luke's Episcopal Church and served on the vestry and search committee for a new rector. She was active in the Tour of Homes, Stephens Ministry, Lay Eucharistic Ministry, missionary work and Cours olista. She attended Community Bible Study for five years. She was a member of the Sea Pines Garden Club. She was the singles champion at Sea Pines Country Club. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Mitchell Campbell King, Jr.; three daughters, Jeannette King-Flom of Tampa, Florida, Kathleen and Jay Goodfriend of Portland, Oregon, and Lee Campbell King of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister, Jennie Finley Cornelius of Akron, Ohio; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 18 at 4 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Hilton Head Island with the reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, PO Box 105, Beaufort, SC 29901, or Van Landingham Rotary Club, PO Box 5013, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938. The Island Funeral Home and Crematory, Hilton Head Island, S.C. is in charge of arrangements.

KREN, Kenneth A., 78, of Tampa passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Joan D. Kren; children, Michael R. Kren and wife Mary, Frances A. Kizilbash and husband Masood, Rebecca E. Escalona and husband Wilfredo; brothers, John and Edward Kren; sisters, Elizabeth Lesko, and Frances Bodner; grandchildren, Brittany Escalona, Sabir Kizilbash, and Imran Kizilbash. Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

LIVESAY, William H., Sr., age 75, of Maryville, Tenn., died Oct. 15, 2002 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mr. Livesay moved back to Maryville in 1990 after retiring from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa. Preceded in death by parents, Kermit and Georgia Livesay; brother, Gene Livesay; and sister, Ruth Vance. Survivors include wife, Augustina Livesay; son, William Livesay of Miami, Fla.; daughter, Kathy Melfi of Maryville, Tenn.; step-children, Mike and Fermin Perez and Carrie Pereira; grandchildren, Michael Melfi and Michele Bullock; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Livesay; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will assemble at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 at Grandview Cemetery for graveside service and interment. LOPEZ, Vicente, Sr., age 87, of Tampa, passed away October 15, 2002. A native of Ponce, Puerto Rica and resident of Tampa for the past 22 years, Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Aurelia; daughters, Carmen Velez, Luisa Rodriguez, Nereida Rivera, Alicia Torres, Sonia and Julia Lopez and Priscilla Colon; sons, Joaquin, Fernando, William, Pedro and Miguel Lopez; sister, Inez Hernandez; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

MEAD, Margaret, 77, of Tampa, died October 15, 2002 at Delta At Care Nursing Home. She is survived by sons, William H. Beach of Merimack, N.H., Brian F. Beach and wife, Rita of Thonotosassa, Fla., Colin K. Beach and Jay T. Rowman, both of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Carol Holshu of Antrim, N.H.; sisters Athea Croteau of Mesa, Ariz., Norma Godin of Dixville, N.H.; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mead is predeceased by her husband, Richard Mead; and grandson, Corey Beach. Memorial services will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of God, 10320 Main Street, Thonotosassa, Fla.

MIKLOICHE, Joseph, 80, of Land O' Lakes, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2002. He was predeceased in death by his wife, Mary. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. He was a longtime resident of Pasco County, a member of the First Baptist Church of Land O' Lakes, the President Emeritus of International Independent Showman's Association, and a member of the Greater Tampa Showman's Association. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, 11 a.m. at Marsicano-B. Marion Reed-Stowers Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.

PADGETT, Claude B., 62, of Eurica, Fla., formerly of Tampa, passed away October 14, 2002. He was retired from GTE following 30 years of service. He was a US Navy veteran, a member of the NRA and the Oklawaha Civic Club. Survivors include a son, Claude R. of Greenville, Tenn.; a daughter, Sybil Ann of Plymouth, Mich.; a brother, Mack E., of Lubbock, Texas ; two sisters, Marie Stewart of Salt Springs, Fla. and JoeAnn Cox of Eurica; three grandchildren; and a loving companion, Yvonne Larkins of Thonotosassa. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, October 17, at the chapel of LEWERS FUNERAL HOME.

PARSON, Sarah B., died October 13, 2002. She was born in Lacey Springs, Alabama. Predeceased by son, Joe Daugette and survived by daughters, Linda Reed of Spring Hill, Micki Kirkland of Brooksville, and Elizabeth Cos of Lutz; son, Henry Daugette of Tampa; sister, Mildred Clark of Tampa; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. RALEY, Alma B., 88, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002 in Monroe Ga. she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Charles. She is survived by three sons, Richard and Greg Raley both of Riverview, Fla and Jeff Raley of Seffner, Fla.; a daughter, Laquita Pucillo of Highland, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A native of Cleaton, Ky. she moved to Hillsborough County in 1973 coming from Chicago, Ill. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon. Memorial services will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at 7:30 p.m.

SARMIENTO, Helen B., 91, of Tampa, passed away October 14, 2002 in Tampa. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sarmiento. Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Anita Murgado of Tampa, Fla. and Evelia Marhefka of Glen-Burnie, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. Interment will take place in Monmouth Memorial Park, Monmouth, New Jersey at a later date.

SCIONTI, Claudette Nieves Lucia Manteiga, age 66, our beautiful wife and mother, was called by our Lord on Tuesday, October, 15, 2002, after a three and a half year battle with peritoneal cancer. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, A.J. `Tony` Scionti; her children, Cathy and Paul Messina, Lisa Vaughn, Richard and Dee Scionti, A.J. Jr. and Dawn Scionti; her ten grandchildren, Paul Michael, Amy, Anthony Joseph, Megan, Catrina, Gianna, Joshua, Richard Jr., Tessa and Anthony Joe III; her sisters, Ramona Manteiga, Sandra Scionti and Jeane Emery; her brother, Joe Scionti, Jr.; her many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved friend, Jeane Espinola. Pallbearers are Joe Scionti, Jr., Patrick Manteiga, Paul Messina Sr., Paul Messina Jr., Anthony Messina, Joe Scionti III, James Scionti, and Christopher Brent. Honorary pallbearers are Michael David Scionti, Michael Joseph Scionti, Robert Scionti, Robert Emery, Jo Jo Scionti, Jay Stark, Rubin Espinola, Sam Salemi, Buster Mirabella, Frank Mirabella and Elwood North. We are comforted by the fact that she was greeted in heaven by her father and mother, Victoriano and Ophalia Manteiga; her brothers, Roland Manteiga, Mike Scionti and James Emery; and her cousin, Harry Farris. SCOTT, Annie Mae, 81, of Riverview, Fla. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002. She is survived by four sons, Verlyn Scott of Evanston, Wy., Frank Scott of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Lynwood Scott of Riverview, Fla. and John Scott of Homestead, Fla.; a brother, Mike Melovich of Tampa, Fla.; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. A native of Lithia, Fla. she was a member of the Riverview Seventh Day Adventist, taught Bible study to children and helped the needy. Funeral services will be held at the Stowers Riverview Chapel Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be, Paul Scott, Frank Scott, Jr., George Koch, Thomas Scott, Jeff Scott and Jonathan Scott. SIMMONS, Alice Murray, 92, of Pinellas Park, Fla. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002. Survivors include, son, Charles Murray and his wife, Chris of Pinellas Park; sister, Pearl Heath of Tampa; four grandchildren, Adrianne Murray, Andy Murray and his wife, Jenny, Amy and her husband Michael Mendez and Aaron Murray. A native of Tampa, Fla. she was a member of the Church of Christ in Plant City. Funeral services will be held at Stowers Brandon Chapel Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

SIMPSON, Mary Ruth (Durrance), 90, of Lakeland died Oct. 13, 2002. Survived by four brothers, Morris, Freeman, Richard and Kenneth; and sister, Mabel Sweat.

STANSLY, Pauline E. (nee Schiop) died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2002 at age 84 in the Hawthorne Nursing Home in Brandon. Previously she lived at the Alterra Clare Bridge of Brandon. Her husband Philip G. Stansly preceded her in death. She is survived by brother, Joseph Schiop of Temple Terrace; her sister, Rose Marie Hunyadi of Roseville, Mich.; and her loving nephew, James Schiop and his wife, Kathleen of Temple Terrace. Pauline was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Detroit, Mich. She graduated from Nazareth College in 1940 and worked at Parke Davis Pharmaceuticals during World War II. Her career in biochemistry took her from Grace Hospital and the Detroit Cancer Research Institute in Detroit to the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md. She bestowed the love of education and music to her many nephews and nieces, and though she never had children, she loved her family deeply and generously. She will be forever loved and remembered by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to LifePath Hospice of Tampa.

Also missing her will be 35 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. WHIPPLE, Richard O., 87, of Jensen Beach died Monday, October 14, 2002 at St. Lucie Medical Center. Formerly from Tampa, he retired from Channel 3. Survivors are his wife, Dolly Whipple; daughters Patricia Stovall of Delton, Mich., and Charlotte Adams of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a stepdaughter Violet Mozelle Lord of Jensen Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Climax Prairie Lodge No. 59 F. & A.M. in Michigan. A funeral service service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Mark III Funeral Home South Tampa Chapel. WRIGHT, Paul Edward, 74, sailed off on his final voyage on Monday, October 14, 2002. Paul is survived by his wife, B.J.; two daughters; four sons, 11 grandchildren; and two sisters. He served his country in the Navy in the 1940's and worked as an Engineer at the V.A. Hospital in Tampa, Fla. until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed 12 years of retirement, sailing, fishing, caring for his grandchildren, and watching the grass grow. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd. BARNES, Charles E. `Charlie`, age 70, of Bristol, Tenn., died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the son of the late James G. and Hazel S. Barnes Sr. He was a retired salesman from Radio Electric Supply, an avid golfer, longtime bowler and tennis player. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, James G. Barnes. Jr. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Barnes of the home; one daughter, Patricia. Barnes Sanders of Zephyrhills, Fla.; one son, Michael W Barnes of Bristol, Tenn. Also surviving are one granddaughter, Tasha Che' Barnes, one nephew, one niece, two great-nieces, one great-nephew and his beloved dog `Pokey`. His family and friends will sadly miss him. Funeral Services will be conducted at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery, at 11 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 with Dr. David Wadsworth officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Daryl Freeman, Bill Templeton, Danny Brown, Frosty Sweet, Walter S. Baumgardner, and Randy Cross. All attendees are requested to be at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Friday. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Marcus Williams and the entire staff of SICU of BRMC.
