Richard Lee Marsh, 52, of Cottondale died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002. The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor James Vickery officiating. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 8, at the funeral home.

Jacob Harrison Dykes died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Morris Hills Elder Care Center in Morristown, N.J. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rowe and Landerman Funeral Home, 71 Washington St. in Morristown, N.J., (973) 538-0520. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Polk Cemetery in Sneads.

Myrtice Toole, 91, of Campbellton, died Monday, July 29, at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital following an extended illness. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, at Springhill United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service. Flowers are accepted or those wishing may make memorials to Springhill United Methodist Church.

Brenda Kay Donovan, 42, of Marianna died Monday, July 29, 2002, in Marianna. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at Maddox Chapel with the Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Burial will be in Sapp Church Cemetery with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, July 31, at the funeral home.

Charles Wilton Lanier, Jr., 67, died July 7, 2002, at his home in Sneads. There will be a private family viewing today, Tuesday, July 9, at the Lanier-Andler Funeral Home in Sneads. Friend are asked to attend a memorial service at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 4339 Lafayette Street, Marianna-32446, or to the Parkman Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church in Chattahoochee, 507 Main Street-32324.

Linny V. (Weeks) Neel of Sneads, 53, died peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2002, at her home after a long illness. The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 10, at 2 p.m. at James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel, with the Revs. Jack Howell, Danny Sutton and Skeeter Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with the funeral home directing. The family will receive friends today, Tuesday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thomas “Tom” Brokaw of Marianna, 89, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, in the Chipola Nursing Pavillion. Arrangements will be announced by Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Deacon James Howard Garris Jr., 81, of 4239 Oak Street died Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2002, in the Marianna Convalescent Center following a lengthy illness. The funeral will be held on Monday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the New Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wooden officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Church Cemetery in Marianna with Peoples Funeral Home directing. The body will lie at the church one hour prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Aug. 18, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Samuel Pittman, 74, of Marianna died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, in the Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, N.J. The funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Ararat African Methodist Episcopal Church with presiding elder Thelma Shaw Young, and Revs. Ervin W. Floyd and Samuel Everett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors, Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna directing. The body will lie at the church one hour prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Aug. 18, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Aletha Evelyn Syfrett, 80, of Panama City died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 at her home. The funeral was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R.C. Warren officiating. Burial was held in the Alford Cemetery, Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Those desiring may make a contribution to the American Cancer Society in memory of Aletha Syfrett.

Earline McCroan Hinson, 73, of Quincy died Aug. 13, 2002 in Tallahassee. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 at the First Presbyterian Church of Quincy. Burial was at 2 p.m. (CDT) (3 p.m. EDT) at the Cottondale Methodist Cemetery in Cottondale. The family received friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, McClellan Funeral Home of Quincy. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1727 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, 32308 or First Presbyterian Church, Box 627, Quincy 32351.

Frances King, 80, of Sneads, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Marianna Convalescent Center. She was a resident of this area for one year after moving here from Prentiss, MS. She was a member of the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Quincy.

Pearl Mears Bevis, 80, of 100 Bolivar Street in Chattahoochee, died in Jackson Hospital in Marianna on Sunday, July 21, 2002.

Jesse Hardy Whitehead of Grand Ridge, 85, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. He was born in Houston County, Ala., and had lived in Jackson County for more than 60 years. He retired from Florida State Hospital after more than 27 years of service. He was a member of Grand Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Grand Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Kynesville with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna, directing. The family will receive friends today, Tuesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Brenda Kay Donovan of Greenwood, 42, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at her residence. Arrangements will be announced by James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel.

Annie Murl Norwood, 76, of Blountstown died Tuesday, August 6, 2002, in Blountstown. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. (CDT) Thursday, August 8, at Maddox Chapel with Revs. Terry Estes and Wendall Rudd officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. The family will receive friends today, August 7, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (CDT) at the funeral home.

Steven Everett Cary, 57, was united with the Lord on July 31, 2002. He died at his sister’s home in Lynn Haven. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Doug Pennington Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Marianna at 2 p.m., Southerland Family Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Friday, Aug. 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church Building Fund, 108 E. 9th Street, Lynn Haven, FL 32444.

The funeral for Stanley Bernard McNealy, 36, will be Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Revs. Riley Henderson, Willie Golden, and Jeffery Wooden will be officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Sneads, Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Kathy Jean Burch, 43, of Grand Ridge died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan. The funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. CDT at Grand Ridge Baptist Church with Revs. Lee Bott and Ken Baggett officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, at the funeral home.

Marvin Frank Hand, 46, a systems analyst, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, in Tallahassee. The service will be at 2 p.m. (EDT) Friday at Concordia Baptist Church in Concord, with burial at Concord Cemetery. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bevis Funeral Home (385-2193). Memorial contributions may be made to Coon Bottom Volunteer Fire Department, Fairbanks Ferry Road, Havana, FL 32333.

Henry Clark Sr., 83, of Campbellton died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002 in the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. The funeral will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Springfield AME Church with Revs. Nathan Brown, O.W. Waddell, Arlester McCalister and Prophet Willie Clark officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Friday, Aug. 9, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Daniel Arlo Truett, 75, of Grand Ridge died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 in Jackson Hospital. The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Bott officiating. Burial will be in Cypress Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Eva Jewel Mayo, 76, of Alford died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. CDT at Round Lake Baptist Church in Round Lake with Revs. Buddy Smitherman and Judy Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, at the funeral home.
