MOSELEY, Harry E. Jr., 65, of Tampa passed away peacefully August 23, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alice Moseley; daughter, Tina Flinn; son, Ron Moseley; four grandchildren, Anthony, Katie and Michael Flinn, and Christi Maroney; a sister, Sara Tillman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was retired from I.M.C. Agrico. He did volunteer umpiring for District 13 Little League for 25 years. He was a member of University Baptist Church. PALMER, Nancy Vanslyck, age 68, of Lakeland, died August 26, 2002 after a nine year battle with cancer. Nancy was an inspiration to everyone she touched with her life. Born December 15, 1933 in Ironwood, Michigan, Nancy graduated from Ironwood High School in 1951. She attended St. Lukes School of Nursing in Duluth, Minnesota, and covered additional coursework at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Nancy moved to Florida in 1962 and has been a Lakeland resident since 1992. Nancy worked at the Watson Clinic in South Lakeland for 15 years as patient relations specialist. Nancy has been actively involved in volunteer work as a Hillsborough County 4-H Club Leader for 10 years. She was named Outstanding 4-H Leader in 1976. She served as Elder in the Seffner Presbyterian Church and after her move to Lakeland was receptionist at the First Presbyterian Church where she was an active member. For several years Nancy led the L.I.F.E. Choices Cancer Support Group. She served on the Board of Directors of the West Polk Unit of the American Cancer Society. Nancy was the recipient of the Courage Award from the American Cancer Society in 2000 and Hero of Hope Award in 2001. She was a member of the Grasslands Golf and Country Club and the Lakeland Elks Lodge. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Fla., at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in the Columbarium at First Presbyterian Church on Lake Hollingsworth Drive. He had an illustrious career as a navigator in the U.S. Air Force, and retired in Brandon, Florida. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. McINTOSH, Jr., Col. Charles Anderson, (USA Ret.), former Mayor of Dade city, beloved husband and father, respected community leader, educator, career soldier and World War II veteran, died peacefully with his family by his side Monday evening, August 26, 2002, at the Heritage Park Specialty Care Center in Dade City. He was 84. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Virginia May Lackman; two daughters, Anne Lackman McIntosh, and Susan M. Bruno and her husband Francis `Buzz` Bruno; and granddaughter, Sarah McIntosh Salzenberg; step-grandchildren, Chip Salzenberg, Crista Salzenberg and Catherine Salzenberg Prein; his sister, Sara M. Knutson and her husband, Richard; niece, Cathy K. Brown and nephew, Andy Knutson; and two great-step-grand-children. Born in Palmetto, Florida, April 9, 1918, he was raised in Dade City by his mother, the former Catherine Huckabay, whose family was well known as pioneers and leaders in the area. He attended St. Leo College Preparatory School, graduating in 1935 and was elected to the Saint Leo Athletic Hall of Fame. He attended the University of Florida from 1935 to 1938 and entered the Army in 1941, serving in the the Infantry with the V Corps during World War II. As a Major, he commanded soldiers landing on Omaha Beach, D Day, 1944. While in the war, he met his future wife, Virginia of Bradford, Ill., who was serving in the Red Cross. They married May 19, 1945 in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia. In the Army Finance Corp, he served in staff and command positions as finance officer and comptroller from 1947 to 1966, In 1948 he received his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He retired from the Army June 30, 1966, as Commandant of the U.S. Army Finance School, and was awarded the U.S. Legion of Merit. From 1966 to 1976, he was Assistant Dean and head of the MBA program at Syracuse University's School of Management, receiving his MBA there in 1966. He returned to Dade City in 1976 and serve d as Associate Dean at the University of South Florida in Tampa as director of graduate studies in the College of Business Administration until 1967. He served on the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council from 1985 to 1999. In 1998, the Council honored him by renaming its most prestigious award the Charles A. McIntosh Jr. Regional Statesman Award. The American Legion Hall of Dade City was also named for him in 2000. He was mayor of Dade City from 1988-1990 and from 1992-2000. Known simply as Mayor Mac, he served on the Dade City Commission for a total of 15 years. He was board member or chairman of several community organizations including: United Way of Pasco County, Pasco County Housing Authority, the United Methodist Church, First Union National Bank of Florida (Pasco), Pioneer Florida Mu seum, and CARES Crescent Enrichment Center & Theatre project. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of Kiwanis and the American Legion. The viewing will be at Coleman & Ferguson Funeral Home, Dade City Chapel, Friday, Aug. 30, from 5-8 p.m The funeral will be Saturday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, and graveside interment with Full military Honors at the Enterpise United Me thodist Church Cemetery, both in Dade City. He retired as president of C.J. Petters & Sons Inc. which owned and managed citrus groves in the local area for more than 40 years. He also retired as Lt. Col. after more than 30 years with the Florida Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan.
