DOUGLAS, Jerry Jerome W., of Sun City, Fla., age 91, passed away on April 3, 2002 at the Courtyards Assisted Living Facility. He was born August 21, 1910 in Sheboygan, Wis. He graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1934 and after starting his dental practice in Sheboygan, joined the U.S. Navy Dental Corps during World War II. While stationed at the Naval Attache in London wi th duty in Grosvenor Square, formerly called SHAEF (Eisenhower's headquarters), he replaced a filling for Eleanor Roosevelt, and checked the teeth of Ed Stettinius, U.S. Secretary of State, and Senator Vandenburg, Secretary of War. After the war he returned to his practice in Sheboygan until retiring in 1957, to join the K. W. Muth Co., Sheboygan, Marketing Division until fully retiring in 197 5. At that time he and his wife, Margaret Welch Douglas, who preceded him in death in June 1988, moved to Florida to pursue their shared passion for golf. Dr. Douglas continued to be an active member of the Kings Point golf courses until the age of 89, and accomplished two holes-in-one during his golf career. He is survived by son, Thomas Douglas, Tampa, Fla.; and daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Anne) Wollner, Greensboro, Ga. and Mrs. Jay (Marilyn) Francis, Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at Courtyards Assisted Living, Sun City Center. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester, Minn.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 37 years Ray S. Gilbert and many very good close friends. Gwen was sister of Shirley, Christine, Vera, Bill, the late Cecil and daughter of the late Captain Charles C. Olden (of England) and the late Dorothy Olden. Gwen was an avid reader and library patron, very active in her community with her church's Bible Camps, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Tampa Palms Elementary School programs, active in Rosary Groups and always available when her friends needed her.
