WILLIAMS, Rubye L., of Tampa, died March 20, 2002. Mrs. Williams retired from Dale Mabry Elementary School as the Head Custodian. She is survived by four children, Henry, Nicole, Broderick and Karen; 13 grandchildren; two sisters; aunt, Benzena Jackson; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23 at 3 p.m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel.

BAKER, Thelma V., age 92 of Plant City, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Mrs. Baker was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Baker and her son, William Rudolph Baker. Survivors include four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2002 at 1 p.m. with service to begin at 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, with Rev. Hugh Long officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice or a charitable organization. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery, Dover.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Nance Ballas; his children Beck and Malloree Ballas; his father and stepmother, Peter and Sally Oakes Ballas; his mother and stepfather, Stephanie Crew and Ted Rubbo; his brother, Thomas and wife, Amy; his paternal grandmother, Inge Borg Ballas; his maternal grandmother, Edith Crew; his maternal grandfather, Larry Crew and many other family members. Michael was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed surfing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; son, Matthew; daughter, Kathleen Boardway; brothers, John and Michael; sister, JoAnn Kingsley; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. from the chapel with Rev. Erwin T. June, pastor of Sydney Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at 6-7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bryan attended Idlewild Baptist Church, Central Campus and was presently employed with C.P. Ships in Communications. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Idlewild Baptist Church, Central Campus, 2923 N. Tampa St. The family will visit with friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church.

Gaines, Ga. A former resident of Tampa, Mr. Giles was retired from the Tampa Fire Department as a Paramedic. He was a member of the Tampa Fireman's Association, was a Navy veteran of World War II, and the Korean Conflict and was former Coroner of Clay County, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Frances Moore Giles; a son, James A. Giles Jr., both of Ft. Gaines; a daughter, Carol Elaine Giles of Takoma Park, Maryland; two brothers, John Giles of Ft. Joiner and Randy Joiner; her four daughters, Virginia Whidden, Gwen Albritton, Donna Morrison and Brenda Stratton; her brother, Melvin Albritton; and her sisters, Eva Thompson and Treeta Herndon. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Born in Lithia, she had been a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Dry Prairie Baptist Church and retired after 33 years as a school bus driver for the Hillsborough County School District. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Dry Prairie Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Alafia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday (today) at Stowers Riverview Chapel. Flowers will he gratefully accepted or those who wish may contribute to the Dry Prairie Baptist Church Building Fund in her memory.
