POLZER, Geraldine Betty (Gerri), born Oct. 27, 1921, died Dec. 1, 2001. She was 80. Gerri moved to Margate Florida with her husband in 1966 from her native home Columbus, Ohio. She moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1972. After retiring from the State Attorney's Office in Hillsborough County, she came to Clearwater to be close to her family. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine (Lori) a nd Joseph S. Battaglia; granddaughter and her husband, Tammie and Tony Straughn; grandson, Michael Leake; two sisters, Opal Taylor and Joann O'Learey; many nephews, nieces and friends. QUANTOCK, Robert Emory, loving husband and father, died December 3, 2001, at 85. A longtime resident of Tampa, he is survived by his children, Robin Q. SMITH, George H., 84, of 55 Kondracki Lane, Wallingford, Conn., husband of Emma G. Smith, died December 4, 2001 at Brook Hollow Health Care Center. Born in Liberty, N.Y. on September 15, 1917, he was raised on a family farm in Port Jervis, N.Y. He had resided in Meriden, before retirement, when he moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. He remained there for 14 years, returning to Wallingford five years ago . Mr. Smith was employed by the C.A. Baur Co. in Meriden from which he retired in 1982. He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Zephyrhills, sang in the church choir, and was an avid vegetable gardener. Besides his wife, Emma, he is survived by a daughter, Linda A. Polito of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Paul Cumberlidg e and his wife, Joyce, of Wallingford, and David Cumberlidge of Meriden; and two grandchildren, Peter and Nathan Cumberlidge. A native of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., he has resided in the Tampa area since 1974 coming from Richfield Springs, N.Y. He was a resident of Crystal Springs Nursing Home for 4 1/2 years.
