PERKEY, Ruth F., age 98, of Brooksville, Fla., passed away December 29, 2000 at Brooksville Health Care Center. She was born in Homeland, Fla., on October 29, 1902, lived in Ft. Myers Fla. from 1904 to 1940 and then in Crafton, Pa. from 1940 till 1992, moving to Brooksville, Fla. She is the daughter of the late Taylor and Anna (Dagenhardt) Frierson; and the great-granddaughter of the late Judge Perry G. Wall. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Taylor McGinn Egnatoff of Huntington, W.Va.; and Ann Winston McGinn Huddart of Spring Hill, Fla.; also survived by three grandchildren, John E. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Alfred Ratliff, Sr; her son, Alfred Jr. and his wife, Rae of Lutz, son, Jack and his wife, Gwen of Riverview; daughter, Sandra Collins and her husband, Tom of Tampa; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her br other and sister-in-law, Jack and Bernice Broward of Encinitas, Calif.; sister-in-law, Bette Broward of Tampa; and several nieces and nephews; along with many special friends. She was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, and as a young child, her family moved to the Tampa area. She attended Hillsborough High School and enjoyed being a part of the reunion committee. She was a charter member of the Spinn ing Wheels Square Dance Club and a committed advocate of `Toys for Tots` She was a former editor of the West Coast Dancer magazine and for many years a valued employee of Mutual Finance Company. SPAULDING, Harold Sr., 92, of Gibsonton passed away December 28, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Winifred Spaulding of Gibsonton. Survivors include his son, Harold Spaulding Jr. and wife, Donna of Riverview; his daughter, Martha Hopkins of Tampa; his son, Richard Owens of Gibsonton; hisdaughter, Pat Nickell of Abilene, Tex.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are among man y who will dearly miss him. Mr. Spaulding, a native of Burlington, Vermont, was former owner and operator of Spauling's Radiator Service in Tampa for 30 years prior to moving to Gibsonton. SPILMAN, Walter M., 78, of Tarpon Springs, died, Saturday, December 30, 2000 in Perry, Florida in an automobile accident. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Rachel Spilman, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; son, Thomas Earl Spilman, Mt. Airey, Md., son, Tim Spilman, Chattahoochee, Fla., son, Larry Spilman, Winter Park, Fla., son, Alan Spilman, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; brother, Wilbur Spilman, Archer, Fla.; nine grandchildren. He was born in Washington , D.C. and came to Tarpon Springs in 1980 from Olney, Maryland. He attended Duke University for a V12 Officer Training Program while in the United States Marine Corps and was an officer and veteran of World War II and Korea. He received a BS degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland and did graduate work at the University of Maryland. He was a mi crobiologist at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC, after his military service. He then became vice president at Gordon Friesen International Corporation and eventually was owner and president of Health Systems Counseling. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Old Timers Club, Historical Society, all of Tarpon Springs, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and American Public Health Association. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Vinson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Thursday, January 4 at 10:00 am, held in the Faith Chapel at the First United Methodist Church. Burial following at Cycadia Cemetery, Tarpon Springs. TERRANA, Frank, 66, of Tampa, died peacefully December 29, 2000. Survivors include brother Vincent Terrana and wife Judy; brother Jack Terrana and wife Susan; nephews Vincent Perry Terrana and wife Dr. Lisa Carter-Terrana; nephew Anthony Terrana; niece Sherri Terrana; niece Alisha Nelson and husband Rick; great nieces Sabra and Emily Nelson. Mr Terrana is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins; long-time friend Clorinda Salciccioli; and many fraternal brothers and sisters. Frank was predeceased by his parents Giacinto (Jack) and Angelina Terrana. He was a lifetime resident of Tampa and retired from the State of Florida Health Department. He was a member of Unita Lodge #2015, Order Sons of Italy in America, serving two terms as President and in many other positions. He was i nstrumental in beginning the Lodge's Feast of St. Joseph celebration 27 years ago. He was also a member and officer of the Columbus Association of Tampa.
