He is survived by his wife; Violet; two sons, Patrick `Rick` Costello of No. Richland Hills, Texas and James `Jay` Costello of Tampa; a daughter, Judie Streicher of Whittier, N.C. and six grandchildren. CRANFORD, Virgie E., 67 of Plant City, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2001. Mrs. Cranford is preceded in death by her son: Delton High. She is survived by one son: Mark High of Plant City; one daughter: Vivian Shuemake of Lake Mary; her mother: Ruth Schofield of Plant City; two sisters: Carolyn Grimes of Lakeland; Joyce Cook of Plant City and four grandchildren. She was a member of Plant City Church of God and a lifelong resident of Plant City. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 from 1-2:00 p.m. and services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Marlow to officiate. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

CULBREATH, William Edward (Bill), Jr. died Tuesday, January 2, 2001 in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 90. He was born in Palmetto, Florida on March 30, 1910, but grew up in Tampa, and attended Hillsborough High school. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ethel Dent Culbreath, who died on January 5, 2000; father and mother, William and Avaline Culbreath; sister Frances Culbreath Cau sey; and nephew 2nd Lt. Jerry O. Causey, Jr. He is survived by his niece, Jo Ava Causey Overly of St. Petersburg; grandnephew, Martin L. Colley of St. Petersburg; two grandnieces, Marcia Colley Gallagher of Floral City, Florida and Martha Anne Causey Martin of Sylvania, Ohio; sister-in-law, Autry Dent, of Ocilla, Georgia; and niece, Mahala Dent Fletcher of Thomasville, Georgia, Also surviving him are his wife's three orphaned nephews whom be `raised as his own`: T. Lowell Dent of Jacksonville, Mack Dent of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and Jack Dent of Ft. Wayne, Indiana . He was from a pioneer Tampa Bay family and became a respected business and community leader statewide, primarily in Hills- borough and Pinellas Counties. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1933, he became a charter member of `The Rat Hole Gang` at the University of Tampa where he coached, was the Athletic Director, and taught journalism classes. The `Gang` got its name from the other `occupants` at the riverfront quarters of the coaches and teachers at that time. In 1938, he became Chairman of the State Defense Council setting up observation towers for plane spotters, shore watch and blackouts. He se rved with distinction in World War II at Hickam Field in Hawaii where he was a Captain in the Air Force. In the post-war years, he would spend 30 years in the Active Reserves, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. Returning to Florida in 1946, he was appointed manager of the Florida State Employment Service in St. Petersburg, followed by a move in 1953 to Tallahassee where he became Assistant Directo r of the Florida State Industrial Commission. Later, he returned to St. Petersburg as head of personnel and public relations for Pinellas Lumber Company. He helped bring Goodwill Industries to St. Petersburg, was president of the Personnel Administration Board of Central Florida, president of the Florida Exchange Clubs, and president of the Florida Lung Association. He was a member of St. Thomas E piscopal Church, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, and the Retired Officers Association. A Memorial Service will be held in the Grand Salon at the University of Tampa on February 3, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the University of Tampa, Development office, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33606.

FAULKNER, Josephine W., 99, of Tampa passed away January 11, 2001. She was a member of the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church and was a teacher and an artist. Born in St. Joseph, Mo., she was a former resident of Swarthmore and Buck Hill Falls, Pa. and Winter Park, Fla. She moved to Tampa's Grand Court in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Faulkner, longtime tennis coach at Swarthmo re College and several Davis Cup teams. She is survived by daughters, Jerry (Charles `Bummie`) Townsend, Tampa and Joan (Murrell) Weesner, Morristown, Tenn.; grandchildren, Byron (Vicki) Townsend, Bill (Traci) Townsend, Donna (Mike) Carter, all of Tampa; Nancy (Tony) Cothron, Bradenton, Fla., Becky Jo (Randy) Moles, Bean, Station, Tenn.; Susan (Kevin) West, Lexington, Ky; Mary Ellen (Kirk) Horner, Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; and Winn (Marty) Seals, Rogersville, Tenn.; and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church. GARCIA, Domingo `Mike` Alonos, 91 of Riverview passed away January 13, 2001. He is survived by his wife Filippa `Fifi` Garcia,; daughter Eleanor G. Cacciatore, of Riverview,; brother Daniel A. Garcia of Tampa,; and sister, Violet Tamargo of Tampa, two granddaughters, Cathy D'Amico and Susan Miller, both of Riverview. He retired from G. Ferlita and Sons Schlitz Distributors after many years. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 15, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior.

HAHN, Mary Jane, 73, of Tampa died Thursday, January 11, 2001 after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband James A. Hahn of 41 years; children, Mark Hahn, April Thompson, Matthew Hahn and Michael Hahn, all of Tampa; four grandchildren, Benjamin Hahn, Christopher Hahn, Lauren Grace Thompson and Liana Hazelgrove; a sister, Abby Eddy of Buffalo, NY and many dear friends. Mary Jane atten ded E.J. Meyer Hospital in Buffalo and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1949. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Her hobbies were her children, grandchildren and shell collecting. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday (today) at the funeral home. HARPER, Cecil, 75 of Oldsmar and Pensacola, Fla., died Sunday, January 7, 2001 at his home. He is survived by his dog Freckles; son, David Harper of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Sue Sapp of Brooksville, Fla.; two grandsons, Joshua and J.J. Sapp; one sister, Margaret Pressley of Pensacola; one niece and one nephew and many cousins. He was born April 4, 1925 to Clifford and Mildred Harper. Gradua ted from Pensacola High School, joining the Navy afterwards, and serving in active duty during World War II. A lifelong lover of horses, he was a former jockey. He also served as State Steward fro Calder Race Cource and Tampa Bay Downs for many years. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Tampa Bay Downs Racetrack. LANE, David Sherman Sr., 76, of Dover passed away January 13, 2001 at home while under the care of LifePath Hospice. Survivors include his wife Loretta Lane; two sons David S. Lane, Jr. and wife Barbara, Ricky B. Lane; step-son Kenneth Seriel and wife Cheryl all of Dover, Fla.; two step- daughters Lonnie Arroyo and husband Raymond and Linda Lee Wester all of Tampa; brother Stanley Lane of Pace, Fla.; two sisters Edna Barber and Ethel Nobles both of Fla.; 11 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. A native of Chiefland, Fla. he came to the Tampa area in the early 1950's. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, Plant City, Fl. and retired from American Can Company. Mr. Lane served his Country during World War II in the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 a. m. at Hilisboro Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Long officiating. Avera and wife, Lesley, great nieces, Linzee Nicely, Caren Avera, Alison Inabinette and many friends. She was a Native of Fort Valley, Ga., and had lived in the Bay area for years. She was a Retired Registered Nurse, a graduate of Gordon Keller Scho ol of Nursing Class of 1931, and a member of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W. TYNDALL, Susan J., 47, of Plant City, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Frank I. Tyndall of Plant City; one son: Mathew Tyndall of Tampa; her mother and father: Mario and Patricia Branly of Plant City; three brothers: Charles Branly of Plant City, Keith Branly of Memphis, Tennessee, and William Branly of Port St John, Florida; several nieces and nephews. WILSON, James Robert (Bob), of St. Petersburg passed away at home, Thursday January 11, 2001 with family at his side. He was born February 27, 1920 in Savannah, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Joyce C. Wilson and was preceded in death in 1979 by his first wife, Louise B. Wilson. He is also survived by his two sons, J. Randall Wilson, Robert M. Wilson and his wife Pat; one daughter, Kimberly W. Darby and her husband Al, all from Tampa; stepdaughter, Gail C. Razook of St. Petersburg and her husband Fred; and stepson, Robert Crisp of New York; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and four step grandchildren survive Mr. Wilson. He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II serving as Post Master in Okinawa. Mr. Wilson was in the automobile business for over 50 years. He started in Jackso nville working for the Massey Motors Organization and Chrysler Motors Corp. before becoming a Dodge Dealer in Tampa in 1961. He founded Bob Wilson Dodge, Inc. over 27 years ago. Mr. Wilson was a member of The St. Petersburg Yacht Club, San Jose Country Club, and the River Club in Jacksonville. He was a member of the Tampa New Automobile Dealer Assoc- iation, Florida Automobile Dealer Association, the National Automobile Dealer Association, and President's Council at both University of Florida and University of South Florida. Pallbearers are his grandsons, Rob Wilson, Travis Wilson, Michael Kriz, Ryan Razook, and Carter Crisp. Honorary pallbearers are Dayton Andrews, Jack Caruso, Malcolm Henderson, Hayes Tate, Bob Huslander, Dr. Richard Lockey, Dr. Worth Boyce, Dr. Guillermo Cintron, Jim Bo ast, Keith Johnson, Pete Longnecker and George Beech. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Marsicano-B. Marion Reed- Stowers Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd in Tampa and a graveside service will be held in Jacksonville, Fla. at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd. at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 15.
