Evelyn M. O'Brien, 90, of Ponte Vedra Beach, died Sept. 28, 2002. She was born July 3, 1912, in Weston, Ill., and moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1995 from Peoria, Ill. She was a retired nurse.
She is survived by her son, Robert (FloAnne) O'Brien of Jacksonville; sister-in-law Agnes Koener of Jacksonville and two grandsons.
Interment will be in Illinois with memorial services at Palms Presbyterian Church scheduled at a later date. Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach.
Charles 'Woody' Lewis Wood Sr.

Charles "Woody" Lewis Wood Sr., 74, of Jacksonville Beach, and formerly of Waynesboro, Va., died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, a Mason and an employee of Days Inn.
He is survived by his wife, Aline Hartless Wood, three children, five brothers, six sisters, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at McDow Funeral Home, 1701 W. Main St., Waynesboro, Va. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Victoria Luzmila Barraza

Victoria Luzmila Barraza, 84, died Oct. 20, 2002. Born Jan. 22, 1918, in Tacna, Peru, he moved to Jacksonville Beach earlier this year to live with her daughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Manuel Barraza.
She is survived by her children, Maria Elena Barraza of Peru, Maria Antonieta Pantoja of Jacksonville Beach and Maria Cecilia Vildosa of Jacksonville; her sisters and brother, Maria Isabelle Barreda, Irene Barreda de Alarcon and Jose Barreda Masias, all of Peru; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation continues 6 p.m. to 8 p.m today in the chapel of Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home, 3600 S. Third St., Jacksonville Beach. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Quinn-Shalz chapel, followed by interment in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.

Mary Jo Norman "Ms. Jody" of Jacksonville Beach, died Oct. 18, 2002.
Born on May 19, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio, she is survived by her daughter,Julie Norman of Orlando; sister, Rita Huneycutt and her husband, Dick; niece, Mary Ann Bacurin, her husband, Mark, and their two daughters, Molly and Maggie; niece, Stephanie Davidson and her husband, Tony, all of Nashville, Tn; nephew, Kerry Hopkins of Hendersonville, Tn; plus a myriad of "second family" and friends.

Diana E. Perritt, 61, died Oct. 21, 2002. Born Nov. 20, 1940, in Manhattan, N.Y., she moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1999.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Fuller of Jacksonville, Starr Pannone of Callahan, Fla., Anthony Leotta of Patchogue, N.Y., and Rodney Leotta of Callahan; her sister, Virginia Castaldo of New Jersey; one grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday in the chapel of Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach.
Maurice Talbot
Ponte Vedra Beach
Maurice Talbot, 61, of Ponte Vedra Beach, died Oct. 19, 2002 at his home. Born on April 12, 1941, in Front Royal, Va., he was a retired producer of UNC public television in North Carolina. He produced the show "Globe Watch" for PBS, which involved extensive world travel. Mr. Talbot moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1999 from Chapel Hill, N.C., and was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville Beach.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Anderson; father, Maurice E. Talbot of Miami Springs, Fla.; mother Louise Gentry of Ponte Vedra Beach; step-daughters Maria Owens of Leesburg, Va., and Jenny Pszonowsky of Ohio; brother Randall Gentry of Tampa; sisters Cheryl Stacy of Tampa, Claudia Almasri of Ponte Vedra Beach and Glenda Butler of Baton Rouge, La.; six nephews, and a niece.

Richard M. Wagner
Atlantic Beach
Richard M. Wagner, 69, of Atlantic Beach, died Oct. 18, 2002 at his residence. Born on March 19, 1933, in Buffalo, N.Y., Mr. Wagner was an accounting technician and was in the Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret W. Wagner; sons William (Trish) Wagner, Richard Wagner and Steven (Erica) Wagner; daughters Diane (Frank) Butler, Catherine Wagner, Sheila (Tom) Neville and Judy (John) Bujnoski; sister Jacqueline (Phil) Manns; 11 granddaughters, and four grandsons.

Billy Carroll
Retired Navy commander
Billy Carroll, a retired Navy commander of Atlantic Beach, died May 21, 2003.He was 79. Born Dec. 16, 1923, in Akron, Ohio, he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a naval pilot and was president of the Raleigh, N.C., Aero Club; vice president of Raleigh Host Lions Club; member of the Carolina Aero Club; commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 1 in North Carolina; commander of North Carolina Amvets Post 1; member of the American Legion Post 1 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2001, a life member of the Association of Naval Aviation. Mr. Carroll was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Byrd Carroll, and a brother, G.E. Carroll.
He is survived by his wife, June Carroll; daughters Holly Carroll of Atlantic Beach and Crismas Carroll of Lakeland, Fla.; brother Mack A. Carroll of Lake Placid, Fla., and grandchildren William A. and Crismas II Carroll. Following cremation, Mr. Carroll's ashes will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery

Richard 'Richie' L. Reese

Richard "Richie" L. Reese, 39, of Atlantic Beach, died May 18, 2003. Born Sept. 7, 1963, in Portsmouth, Va., he worked in lawn maintenance and was a member of Oak Harbor Baptist Church and Sons of the Legion, American Legion Post 316.
He is survived by his mother, Lucy M. Reese; father, Louis W. Reese; sisters, Debra Lynn (A.J.) Santoro and Rebecca Lisa Reese; four nieces and a nephew.

Donald C. Sheldon, 81, of Atlantic Beach died May 27, 2003. He retired from Seaboard System Railroad (CSX Transportation) as A.V.P. of Personnel & Labor Relations. He graduated from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, held a Florida Real Estate license, was a member of the Masonic Lodge #356, Selva Marina Country Club, and a past President of Seaboard Railroad Golf Association.
He is survived by two sons, Donald Sheldon, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN., Bruce (Patty) Sheldon of Atlantic Beach, a brother, Ralph D. (Lorraine) Sheldon, two sisters, Margaret (Jimmy) McAdams, Doris (Sam) Thomason and five grandchildren, Marshall, Jesse, Ted, Michael and Samantha. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat and a granddaughter, Kimberly.
