JOAN E. POHLMAN, 82, of Zephyrhills died Monday at home. A native of Flint, Mich., she moved to this area in 1991 from Toledo, Ohio. She was a buyer for The Lion's Store in Toledo. She is survived by her husband, Walton, and a brother, Ross Wetherald of Toledo. National Cremation Society, Tampa.

CLAUDE "BILL" G. POND, 89, of Zephyrhills died Tuesday at East Pasco Medical Center. A native of Mexico, N.Y., he moved to this area 35 years ago. He was a teacher and a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an officer on the USS Benevolent. He is survived by two sons, Victor of Dade City and Curt of Zephyrhills, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. National Cremation Society, Tampa.

HENRY R. APLIN, 88, of Lutz died Tuesday at University Community Hospital. A native of De Funiak Springs, he moved to the area in 1931 from Alabama. He was a trim carpenter and Baptist. He is survived by three sons, Henry Jr., Robert and Bennie Sr., all of Lutz; four daughters, Jane White of Lutz, Joann Rairigh of Tampa, Janet Scoggins of Mango and Betty Barton of Dade City; 24 grandchildren; 70 great- grandchildren; and five great-great- grandchildren. CLEVELAND ARNOLD, 77, of Tampa died Friday at Carrollwood Care Center. A native of Jefferson County, he moved to the area in 1940. He was a concrete finisher for Quality Concrete and an Elk. He is survived by his wife, Marie; six sons, Eugene Payne of Tampa, Robert Payne of New Orleans, Cleveland Jr. of Tallahassee, Thomas, Anthony and Ray, all of Atlanta; two daughters, Annie Robinson of Dover, Del., and Mary Davis of Tampa; four sisters, Margaret Rollins of Archer, Willie Mae Henry of Williston, Mary Davis of Florida and Lucille Parker of Jacksonville; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
