George Harris
George Harris of Lake Wales, Fla. died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at the Lake Wales Medical Center. He was 76.
He was born October 18, 1927.
Mr. Harris was employed in the construction industry.
There are no known relatives.

Arnold Lentz
Arnold Lentz of Nalcrest, Fla. died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at The Grove Center in Lake Wales, Fla. He was 82.
He was born Feb. 21, 1922 in Bowmanstown, Pa. coming to Lake Wales from Gillsville, Ga. in 1998.
Mr. Lentz was a retired Sergeant Major from the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a retired U.S. Letter Carrier from Jacksonville, Fla. He was of the Church of Christ faith, a veteran of World War II, Korea and Viet Nam. He was a member of the American Legion, DAV, and VFW. Mr. Lentz was a member of the Marine Corp League, Fleet Reserve Association, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Toastmasters. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Lake Wales Country Club.
Mr. Lentz is survived by his companion, Frances Offenbaker of Nalcrest; a sister, Pauline Ruth Blose of Palmerton, Pa. and two nieces.
Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. until service time at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., at the funeral home with Reverend Phillip Short officiating.
Interment was held at the Florida National Cemetery at 1 p.m., Monday following the services.

Jack L. Moore
Jack L. Moore of Bartow, Fla., formerly of Lake Wales, Fla., died Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Lakeland Hills Center, Lakeland, Fla. He was 83.
He was born July 15, 1921 in Ashland, Ky. He came to the area from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. in 1990.
He was retired from advertising at the Fort Lauderdale News. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed watching Fox News on T.V.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Moore in 2003.
He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca McMann of Bartow, formerly of Lake Wales; a son, John Moore; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Private inurnment will be held. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Adam Wesley
Adam Wesley of Lake Wales, Fla. died Monday, July 26, 2004 at Heart of Florida Medial Center, Davenport, Fla. He was 87.
He was born July 10, 1917 in Thomasville, Ga. He came to Lake Wales from Thomasville in 1958.
He was a citrus worker.
Mr. Wesley was preceded in death by his wife, Isabella Wesley.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonita Johnson of Lake Wales and two sisters, Anna Wesley of Willow Grove, Tenn. and Lean Wesley of Bronx, N.Y.
Visitation was held Friday, July 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Epps Mortuary.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Edward Leroy Whitcomb
Edward Leroy Whitcomb of Jacksonville, Fla. died Friday, July 30, 2004 at Beauclerc Manor Mandarin, Fla. He was 82.
He was born July 10, 1922 in Plant City, Fla.
Mr. Whitcomb had been employed at Citrus World, Inc. as a laborer. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and he was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Boots Whitcomb in 2002.
Mr. Whitcomb is survived by two daughters, Deborah Karen Hall of Richmond, Va. and Christine Marie Griffin of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Lt. Col. Edward Leroy Whitcomb of Yorktown, Va. and Leonard Leroy Whitcomb of Lynchburg, Va.; a brother, J. O. Whitcomb of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Stella Morgan of Brandon, Fla., Mary Heathcox of Wesley Chapel, Fla. and Joy Crawford of Valley Hills, Texas; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. with Reverend Jim Furno officiating.
Interment was held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.

Idella Howard
Idella Howard of Lake Wales died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. She was 90.
Mrs. Howard was born on May 10, 1914, in Suwanee County, Florida. She came to Lake Wales from there in 1925.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Institutional Missionary Baptist Church of Lake Wales and the New Light Chapter #132 Order of Eastern Star Lodge.
Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her husband, John Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughter, Adell McGriff of Frostproof; two sons, Alfred Reynolds and Bobby Lee Reynolds, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 16, at Epps Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 17, at Epps Mortuary Chapel.
