Richard Elliott
Richard Herman Elliott, 64, of Lakeland, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 22, 1939, Mr. Elliott was a lifelong resident of Lakeland.
He was a retired lieutenant with the Lakeland Police Department, and he worked in ground maintenance at Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens for the past eight years.
Mr. Elliott was a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathryn F. Elliott; his parents, Dudley D. and Lela C. Elliott of Lakeland; one daughter, Deborah Bridges of Lakeland; two sons, Ronald Messinger and Randy Elliott, both of Lakeland; three sisters, Barbara E. Harter of Westfield, N.Y., and Linda Bridges and Jackie Pedigo, both of Lakeland; and four grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Lakeland Funeral Home.
The funeral: Thursday, April 8, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home chapel.
Kenneth Richardson
Dr. Kenneth Wayne Richardson, 70, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna.
A member of the Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church and a native of Eustis, Dr. Richardson graduated in 1959 from the University of Miami School of Medicine and known as a talented musician.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty J. Richardson, of Chatta; two daughters, Connie Michael of Fort Worth, Tex. and Debbie Cliver of Highland City; four sons, Ronald Ranew of Rincon, Ga., Kenneth W. Richardson, Jr. of Lebanon, Thomas Richardson of Bradenton, and Steven "Mark" Richardson of Roswell, Ga.; one sister, Gail Baildon of Bartow; two brothers, Ivan Richardson, Jr. of Bartow, and Keith Richardson of Bartow; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sarah Eva Kiggans
Sarah Eva Kiggans, 93, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Carrington Place Nursing Center.
Born in Ohio, Ms. Kiggans moved to St. Petersburg from Clover, S. C., in 2002.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Blundell of Murphy, N.C., Lena Morgenstern of Lower Salem, Ohio, and Ethel Hopp of Lowell, Ohio; three sons, Lawrence Earl of Clover, S.C., James Willard of Frostproof, and Sam Kiggans of Lowell, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements: National Cremation Society in Largo.
Estelle McClellan
Estelle "Sissy" McClellan, 90, of Fort Meade, died Saturday, April 10, at Florida Hospital in Wauchula.
Born Dec. 12, 1913, in Fort Meade, she was a registered nurse and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Fort Meade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur McClellan, and two sons, Neal and Walter McClellan.
Survivors include three daughters, Juinita Boone of Lakeland, Anne White of Temple Terrace, Louise McClellan of Zolfo Springs; four sons, Bobby McClellan of Zolfo Springs, Lacey McClellan of Treasure Island, Art McClellan of Ona, and Dan McClellan of Fort Meade; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLean Funeral Home, Fort Meade.
The funeral: Thursday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Fort Meade, 500 North Lanier Avenue. Pastor Robert G. Beck will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Retha M. Lewis
Retha M. Lewis, 85, of Bartow, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Bartow Center.
Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Hazlehurst, Ga., Mrs. Lewis moved to Bartow 59 years ago.
She was a homemaker. She attended Wildwood Baptist Church in Bartow.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Grady D. Lewis, and three sons, Donald Lewis, Jimmie Lee Lewis, and David Russell Lewis. Survivors include: three sons, Bobby Lewis of Waycross, Ga., and Steve Lewis and Glenn Lewis, both of Bartow; three daughters, LaVerne Marsh and Joanne Sanchez, both of Bartow, and Betty Adams of Reidsville, Ga.; two sisters, Florabell Walker of Baxley, Ga., and Lollie Sasser of Lake Alfred; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, April 12, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.
The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. Paul R. Foxworth officiating.
Interment: Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow.

Marguerite Holland
Marguerite Holland, 90, of Mulberry, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland.
Ms. Holland was born in Tampa on Oct. 5, 1913.
She was a homemaker. She attended Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Mulberry.
Survivors include one son, Walter Bryant, Jr., of Fort Meade; two daughters, Emily Bell and Evelyn Bryant, both of Mulberry; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, April 16, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Gause Funeral Home in Bartow.
The funeral: Saturday, April 17, at 2 p.m., at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Mulberry.
Interment: Palm Cemetery in Bartow.
E. Leon Mann
E. Leon "Slick" Mann, 80, of Bartow, died April 9, 2004, in Leesburg.
Born in Bartow, Mann was a veteran, having served as a U.S. Marine from 1942-46. He was a retired employee of the phosphate industry.
He was an Episcopalian and a member of the Lakeland Rifle and Pistol Club and Single Action Shooters Society.
Survivors include his son, Edward L. Mann, Jr. of Leesburg; two daughters, Ellen Claire Mancaso of Lantana and Kathleen A. Mann of Deland; two stepsons, Paul David Mathers of Fort Myers and Lee F. Mathers of Panama City Beach; and four grandchildren.
The funeral: April 17 at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Bartow.
