James Eric Allen
James Eric Allen, 53, of Kissimmee, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Osceola Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Allen was born March 24, 1950, in Fort Meade.
He was employed in the food industry.
Mr. Allen is survived by: three aunts, Myra Cannon of Fort Meade, Peggy Owens of Orlando, and Pat Manley of Titusville; one niece, Jill Rogers Bradley of Bradenton; and three nephews, Jason Rogers of Lake Placid, Kyle Strickland of Fort Meade, and Miles Strickland of Tallahassee.
The funeral: Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Meade, with Rev. Richard Humston officiating.

Clora Begley
Clora Begley, 90, of Bartow, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Bartow Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 14, 1913, in Jackson, Ky., Mrs. Begley moved to Bartow in 1976.
She was a former machine operator at Lantiner Brush Company in Detroit, Mich. She was a member of Lake Garfield Baptist Church and a member of the choir. She also was a member of the Women's Missionary Union Quilting Group, making quilts and donating them to the Church Service Center.
Mrs. Begley was preceded in death by her husband, Birchel Begley, and two great-grandchildren, Coleen Jean and Alisha Begley. She is survived by: two sons, Leon Begley and Herschel Begley, both of Bartow; one sister, Trusty Molly of Jeffersonville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Diane Young of Rose City, Mich., Laurie Decker of Fairgrove, Mich., Jeff Begley and Chuck Begley, both of Shepherd, Mich.; Pattie Beson of Bay City, Mich., Marion Jean of Augres, Mich., and Jenny Ronk of Akron, Mich.; 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, March 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.
The funeral: Tuesday, March 30, at 11 a.m., at Lake Garfield Baptist Church, 1170 Eighty Foot Road, with Rev. Garnet E. Pitts officiating.

Ouida B. "Smith" Hanke
Ouida B. "Smith" Hanke, 95, of Fort Meade, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at the Rohr Home in Bartow.
Born April 10, 1908, in Chipley, Mrs. Hanke was a lifelong resident of Fort Meade.
She was a homemaker and a rancher. She was a member of First Church of God in Fort Meade.
Mrs. Hanke was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hanke, and one daughter, Aldwilda Smith. Survivors include: one daughter, Luwahna S. Zink of Fort Meade; one brother, Bill Reddick of Lake City; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, April 3, from 2 to 3 p.m., at McLean Funeral Home in Fort Meade.
The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Conners officiating.

Kenneth Richardson
Dr. Kenneth Wayne Richardson, 70, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna.
A member of the Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church and a native of Eustis, Dr. Richardson graduated in 1959 from the University of Miami School of Medicine and known as a talented musician.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty J. Richardson, of Chatta; two daughters, Connie Michael of Fort Worth, Tex. and Debbie Cliver of Highland City; four sons, Ronald Ranew of Rincon, Ga., Kenneth W. Richardson, Jr. of Lebanon, Thomas Richardson of Bradenton, and Steven "Mark" Richardson of Roswell, Ga.; one sister, Gail Baildon of Bartow; two brothers, Ivan Richardson, Jr. of Bartow, and Keith Richardson of Bartow; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Brian Roop
Brian Roop of Bartow died Sunday, April 4, 2004, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
He was 30 years old.
Born July 4, 1973, Mr. Roop was a lifelong resident of Bartow.
He was a self-employed maintenance man. He attended Vineyard Church of God in Bartow.
Mr. Roop is survived by: one son, Jonathan Roop, and one daughter, Alexis Roop, both of Alturas; his mother and step-father, Gail and Richard Sanders of Winter Haven; his father and step-mother, Jay and Marilyn Roop of Auburndale; and three brothers, Lee Roop of Winter Haven, Tommy Kirkland of Bartow, and Bryant Sanders of Winter Haven.

Della M. Holder, 80, of Homeland, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland.
Born Aug. 10, 1923, in Midland City, Ala., Mrs. Holder moved to Polk County in 1965.
She was a homemaker. She attended Homeland Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holder was preceded in death by her husband, Abe Holder. She is survived by: two daughters, Carolyn Baker of Homeland and Shirley M. Hurley of Englewood; two sons, Dallas Smith of Bartow and Jessie Holder of Homeland; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Dolores L. Jahn
Dolores L. Jahn, 49, of Lakeland, died of complications of pneumonia Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Bartow Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Survivors include her mother, Dolores Jahn of Brooklyn; two brothers, Rhett Jahn and Brett Jahn, also of Brooklyn; one step-sister, Nancy Stern of Carlsbad, Cal.; and her friend, Hank Fredrickson of Lakeland.
Interment: Central Florida Crematory, Lakeland.
