Kenneth Walter Duke
Kenneth Walter Duke, 73, of Lakeland, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident in Lakeland.
Born Oct. 14, 1929, in Lakeland, Duke was a lifelong Lakeland/Winter Haven resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a retired bank president of the former Kissimmee NCNB Bank, now Bank of America. He was a member of the American Legion, Optimist Club, and the Moose Lodge, all in Winter Haven.
Survivors include: his wife, Iris Duke; three sons, Kenneth Duke of Carlton, Ga., Michael Duke of Auburn, Ga., and William Payne of Lakeland; one daughter, Debra Hawks of Winter Haven; a sister, Elizabeth Mack of Lakeland; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral: Friday, May 30, 10 a.m., at Oak Hill Burial Park in Lakeland, with Rev. Jim Blizzard of the Bible Presbyterian Church officiating.

Henry 'Hank' Carl Donath
Henry "Hank" Carl Donath, 95, of DeLand, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at his residence.
Born in Rotterdam, Holland, Donath moved to DeLand from Eustis in 1996. He was a retired Chief of Police. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and served in the Florida National Guard.
Donath was a charter member of the Florida Police Chief's Association, a member of the DeLand Noon Rotary of which he was a Paul Harris Fellow, past president of Plantation Florida Rotary Club, past president of the Tuberculosis Association, and a member of the DeLand YMCA. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of DeLand, a member of the West Broward Masonic #253 F&AM; in Pembroke Pines, and volunteered in the Volusia County school system.
Donath served in law enforcement for 34 years before retiring.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carlyn Smart of DeLand; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Maxine Webb Brewer
Maxine Webb Brewer, 58, of Bartow, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 12, 1945, in Sarasota, Mrs. Brewer was a lifelong Bartow resident.
She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include: her husband, Henry Brewer; two sons, Hank Brewer of Lakeland and Mac Brewer of Bartow; four brothers, Charles Webb of Bartow, Van Webb of Fort Stewart, Ga., Gary Webb of Bartow, and Murray Holloway of Tallahassee; three sisters, Barbara McCue of Bartow; Winifred Armstrong of Tallahassee, and Deborah Stallings of Orlando; and five grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, June 1, from 2-4 p.m., at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.
Funeral: Monday, June 2, 10 a.m., at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Shifflet officiating.
Interment: Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow.
Judith Lorraine Anderson
Judith "Judy" Lorraine Anderson, 59, of Lakeland, died Saturday, May 24, 2003.
Mrs. Anderson was born Nov. 19, 1943, in Lakeland.
She was preceded in death by her son, Marshall Anderson, in 1997. Survivors include: her husband, Jeff Hufstedler; one daughter, Deborah L. Hufstedler; one grandson, Jeffery Marshall Hufstedler; her mother, Earleen Todd of Lakeland; her father, Jack Todd, and step-mother, Ceil Todd, of Georgia; one brother, John E. Todd of Georgia; one half-sister, Tanyna Kittelson of Texas; and other family and friends.
Funeral: Friday, May 30, at 6 p.m., at Ardella Baptist Church, located at 709 West Pipkin Road in Lakeland.

Grace D. Benson
Grace D. Benson, 87, of Winter Haven, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at her residence.
Born in Arnoldsville, Ga., Mrs. Benson moved to the Winter Haven area in 1930. She was an interviewer with the State of Florida Job Service.
She was a member of Inman Park Baptist Church in Winter Haven. She was a Pink Lady at the Regency in Winter Haven, and was a former member of the Business Women's Professional Club in Winter Haven.
Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Eugene Benson in 1997, and her husband, Thomas Clifford Benson in 2002. Survivors include: one daughter, Shirley Blackwelder of Winter Haven; a brother, George Dean, Jr., of Winter Haven; a sister, Mildred Henson of Winter Haven; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Bessie Ramos
Bessie Ramos, 82, of Eagle Lake, died Sunday, May 18, 2003.
Ms. Ramos was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Live Oak. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Lockhart of Clinton, N.J.; two sons, Lawrence H. Hunter of San Diego and Eric Ramos of Bartow; a brother, Johnnie Gore of Daytona Beach; and four grandchildren.

James William Chandler, Sr.
James William "Bill" Chandler, Sr., 85, of Gate City, Va., died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Wexford House in Kingsport.
A native of West Virginia, Mr. Chandler had resided in Bristol, Tenn., for several years, and had lived in Gate City for the past 16 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and was retired from Ball Brothers Furniture Co.
He was a member of the Gate City United Methodist Church.
Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his first wife, Madge Branson Chandler; his parents, Ernest and Gladys Chandler, and a sister, Vivian Stanton.
Survivors include his wife, Annis Daugherty Chandler; a daughter, Janice Murphy of Bartow; a son, Jim Chandler, Jr., of Bristol, Va.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Turner of Gate City; a sister, Betty Teague of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Jamie Murphy and Jeff Murphy of Bartow, Matt Chandler, Chris Phipps, David Baker, Leigh Beth Phipps and Rachel Baker; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Dale Wyrick officiating. Music by Gate City United Methodist Church choir and Carolyn McPherson. Visitation after service.
Graveside service: Thursday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m., Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, Tenn.
