Marilyn J. Case, 66, of Lake Panasoffkee died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000. Born in Kokomo, Ind., she moved from Sevierville, Tenn. in 1983 to Wildwood and in 1998 moved to Lake Panasoffkee. Mrs. Case was a homemaker. She was Protestant. Survivors include her husband, Don; two sons, Donald Dukes of Maine and Patrick Murray of Kokomo, Ind.; daughter, Rebecca Earnhert of Kokomo, Ind.; three sisters, twin sister, Jane Irwin of Kokomo, Ind., Charlotte Pennycuff of Kokomo, Ind., and Kathleen Sindlebach of Arizona; five grandchildren. Lera Ross Giddens, 101, Teacher
Lera Ross Giddens, 101, of Bushnell died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Bushnell. Born in Galloway, Fla., she lived in Bushnell since 1921. Mrs. Giddens was a school teacher. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bushnell; a member of the Eastern Star; former president of Bushnell Woman's Club; former choir director of 1st United Methodist Church of Bushnell; was the oldest member of the Sumter County Retired Educator's Association. Survivors include her daughter, Dot Coleman of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lillian Whitaker of Merritt Island, Clara Melton of Melbourne; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Giddens was held Jan. 28, 2000 at the First United Methodist Church of Bushnell with the Reverend Edward Dinkins and the Reverend Ron Sumter officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Bushnell. Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.
Gary G. Goodman, 46, Truck driver
Gary George Goodman, 46, of Bushnell died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in Leesburg. Born in St. Petersburg, he lived in Bushnell since 1985, formerly of Pinellas Park. Mr. Goodman was a truck driver in the electric supply industry (BESCO Electric). He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Carol; daughter, Sheena Diane Goodman of Bushnell; son, Donavan Denver Goodman of Bushnell; brother, Daniel J. Goodman of St. Petersburg; mother, Catherine Goodman of Lake Panasoffkee. A memorial service for Gary Goodman was held Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000 at the Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, with the Reverend Carl Tatum officiating.

Christine Victoria Iserman, 92, of Gastonia, N.C., died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000. Born in Cherokee, Kansas, she moved to Gastonia in 1995 from Wildwood. Mrs. Iserman was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter #24, Wildwood; Daughter of Nile; Charter member Leesburg Elks Auxiliary; Sponsor of the Beta Sigma Phi, Wildwood. She was Presbyterian. Survivors include a son, Dr. Herbert A. Iserman of Waynesville, N.C.; grandson, Art Iserman of Florida; granddaughter, Susan Stover of Gastonia, N.C.; four great-grandchildren. Ida Mae Mahl, 87, of Wildwood died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000. Born in Quebec, Canada, she moved to Wildwood in 1974 from Rome, N.Y. Mrs. Mahl was a retired nurse. She was Methodist. Norval E. Reno, 69, Railroad worker
Norval Eugene Reno, 69, of Wildwood died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000. Born in Hillsboro, Ohio, he moved to Wildwood in 1950 from there. Mr. Reno retired from CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 118, Wildwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Dorene; two daughters, Cindy Reno of Wildwood, Julie Cumbie of Wildwood; brother, John Anderson of Eustis; sister, Carolyn Williamson of Lady Lake; and two grandchildren. Funeral services for Norval E. Reno was held Feb. 2, 2000 in the Banks-Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Wildwood. Interment followed in the Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford.

John Edward Taylor, 66, of Lake Panasoffkee died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Leesburg. Born in Pennville, Ind., he moved to Sumter County in 1955. Mr. Taylor was a dairy farmer in the agriculture industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Taylor of Lake Panasoffkee; four sons, Michael Taylor of Hahira, Ga., Steven Taylor of Brooksville, David Taylor of Clermont, Scott Taylor of Brandon; daughter, Donna Mumma of St. Petersburg; brothers, George Robert Taylor of W. Thomas Richard Barnes, 59, of Coleman died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. He was a native of Coleman. Mr. Barnes was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was Baptist. Survivors include four brothers, J.C. of Wildwood, Franklin of Lake Panasoffkee, Jimmy of LaGrange, Texas and Greg of Coleman; two sisters, Virgie Everett of Coleman and Alice Armstrong of Ocoee; several nieces and nephews. Lamar R. Rogers Sr. 52, Correctional Officer
Lamar R. Rogers Sr., 52, of Clermont died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Bushnell. He was born May 19, 1948 in Leesburg. Mr. Rogers was employed by the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer. He was an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam era. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Clermont. Survivors include his wife, Reyna Rogers of Clermont; two sons, Lamar Roy Rogers Jr. and Daniel Rogers, both of Tarrytown, Fla.; two daughters, Monica Rogers and Juliette Rogers, both of Clermont; mother, Mrs. Sammie Rogers of Tarrytown; brother, Fred Rogers of Wildwood; sister, Margaret Finstein of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren. Services were held Sept. 13 at First Assembly of God, Clermont with the Rev. Edward Sattesahn, Rev. H. Lee Burnham, and Rev. M.T. Williams officiating. Interment at Linden Cemetery, Linden. Oscar W. ‘‘Bill’’ Schulz, 92, Safety engineer
Oscar William ‘‘Bill’’ Schulz, 92, of Wildwood died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Wildwood in 1983 from Bradenton. Mr. Schulz was a retired safety engineer for the U.S. Government. He was a life member of West Point Masonic Lodge #877, Highland Falls, N.Y.; instructor for AARP 55 A live Driving Course; Boy Scouts of America Counselor and had earned the Silver Beaver Award; past member of Lions International. He was a member of Wildwood United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Idus; son, William John Schulz, US Navy Captain, retired, of Alexandria, Va.; daughter, Barbara Ann Walker of Putnam Valley, N.Y.; two step-sons, Bernard Robertson of Port Orchard, Wash. and Joseph Robertson of Darien, Ga.; two step-daughters, Mary Ann McIntosh of Shellman Bluff, Ga., and Nell Easton of Allenhurst, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 289 great-grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren. Memorial services for Oscar William Schulz will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 in the Wildwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Harry Holloman officiating. Richard E. Wilcox, 59, of Bushnell died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 in Bushnell. Born June 22, 1941 in Boston, Mass., he moved to Sumter County in 1985 from New Hampshire. Mr. Wilcox was employed by Sumter County Correctional Facility as a paramedic. He was an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam era. He was Catholic. He is survived by one brother, David Wilcox of Nevada City, Calif. A memorial service was held Sept. 11 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with Chaplain Leslie as the officiant.
