Lois E. Coleman, 64, of Wildwood, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999. Born in Coffeeville, MI, Mrs. Coleman moved to Wildwood in 1969 from Plant City. She was a member of Sumterville Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Michael P. Gibson of Kansas City, MI, Steven Robinson and Duane Robinson both from Plant City; one daughter, Margaret Laws of Florence, SC; one brother, Johnny Greenwald of Pensacola; four sisters, Patsy Whitfield of Gadston, AL, Peggy Cook of Jackson, TN, Becky Coleman of Tulepo, MI and Catherine Sutphin; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Myra Goodwin Sanders, 86, of Leesburg, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999. Born in Center Hill, Mrs. Sanders has been a life long resident of this area.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Leesburg.
Survivors include: three nephews, John Goodwin of Belle Island, Duane Goodwin of Leesburg and Chris Fitzgerald of Thomasville, GA; and one neice, Sheri Goodwin of Jacksonville.

Col. Guilford R. "Monty" Montgomery, 85, of Oxford died Sunday, Dec. 16, 1999. Col. Montgomery is a retired U.S. Air Force Pilot. Born in Pierre, South Dakota, he came to Oxford in 1989 from Plantation Key, Florida. A member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include wife, Beverly; 4 daughters, Jeannette Taylor of Oxford, Carol Culligan of Clewiston, Lynda Gile of Monument, Colorado and Cindy Elliott of Ft. Collins, Colorado; 2 step-daughters, Cheryl Blair of Oxford and Cathy Burns of Fruitland Park; 3 half brother, Carl, Pete and Lyle Hald all of Olrecks, S. Dakota; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Essie Mae Caruthers, 82 of Wildwood, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999. Essie was a homemaker. Born in Lake Park, Georgia, she was a lifetime resident of Sumter County. She was a member of the Coleman United Methodist Church. Survivors include 2 sons, William and Tom of Wildwood; 3 daughters, Delilah Gwaltney and Becky Partridge both of Wildwood, Mary Glisson of Ocala; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Allen Lee William Carpenter, 57, of Webster died of natural causes on Dec. 19, 1999. Born in McAdenville, North Carolina, he moved here 2 years ago from Bessemer City, North Carolina. He worked at a chemical plant as a maintenance man. He was in the Vietnam Era Air Force. He was a Baptist. Survivors include wife, M. Lois Carpenter, Croom, FL; son, David Carpenter, Leesburg, FL; 2 daughters, Donna Beatty, Bessemer City, North Carolina and Marsha Hughes, Clover, South Carolina; 2 brothers, Ronald D. and Steve Carpenter, both of Belmont, North Carolina; 2 sisters, Cathy Pressley, N. Patricia Ellen Crawford, 59, of Lake Panasoffkee died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, in Leesburg. Born in Baltimore, Md., she moved to Lake Panasoffkee in August of 1999 from Hagerstown, Md. Mrs. Crawford was a restaurant waitress/cook, employed by Masons Barn, Cumberland, Md., Wayne's Family Restaurant, Greenscastle, Pa. and AmVets Post 10, Hagerstown, Md., where she worked for the last 13 years. She was a member of Assembly of God. Survivors include a daughter, Laura Crawford Keefer of Lake Panasoffkee; two granddaughters, Angelia Crawford and Laurissa Crawford, both of Lake Panasoffkee. A memorial service for Mrs. Patricia Crawford will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at 7 p.m. at the Zion Assembly of God Church, 13814 Village Mill Dr., Maugansville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Zion Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 237, Maugansville, Md 21767. Interment will be at a later date. Mr. Lewis was a laborer in market sales. He was Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Lisa; parents, Cecil and Delores Lewis of Okahumpka; two sons, Jarrett Lewis and Wesley Dees, both of Webster. Iris A. Miller, 70, of Wildwood died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999. Born in Scio Village, Ohio, she moved to Wildwood in 1991 from Dover, Ohio. Mrs. Miller was a legal secretary. She was a member of St. John's Church in Dover, Ohio; American Legion Auxiliary; Elks Auxiliary; VFW and numerous card clubs. Elmer B. Thomas, 78, of Wildwood died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999. Born in Dukes, Fla., he moved to Wildwood in 1994 from Leesburg. Mr. Thomas was a retired salesman for Discount Auto Parts. He was a member of the American Legion Post #18, Wildwood, and a member of First Baptist Church of Wildwood. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Berniece; daughter, Jan LaPorta of Tampa; two step-daughters, Debrah Rager of Minneola, and Barbara MacDonell of Clermont; one step-son, Robert Swanson of Okahumpka; three sisters, Mavis Goodge and Joyce Mock, both of Varnville, S.C., and Lois Seckinger of Springfield, Ga.; and nine grandchildren. Vestel Bennett, 81, of Leesburg died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000. He was born in Algood, Tenn. Mr. Bennett was a retired agriculture laborer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Lois Katherine Carter, 69, of Center Hill died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 in Dade City. Born in Kissimmee, she lived most of her life in Sumter County. Mrs. Carter was a telephone operator. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Survivors include one son, Buster Ward of Ocala; daughter, Lois F. Simmons of Center Hill; sister, Nancy of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Marion Kenneth Collins, 67, of Bushnell died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, in Tavares. Born in Radford, Va., he moved to Bushnell 11 years ago from Lithia Springs. Mr. Collins was a government mechanic for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; son, Richard Collins of Bushnell; two daughters, Marian Meyer of Lake Panasoffkee, Frances Streetman of Brandon; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Carl Collins of Valdosta, Ga.; sister, Mary Hicks of Lakeland. Services for Mr. Marion Collins were held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Military honors were rendered by Marine Corps League #708. Mrs. Evans was a member of First Baptist Church of Webster. Survivors include her son, Jackson B. Hodges Sr. of Bushnell; one brother, Jack Wilson of Leesburg; companion, Wesley K. Evans of Bushnell; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Everman, 77, of Lake Panasoffkee died at Citrus Memorial Hospital on Jan. 3, 2000. Born in Goshen, N.Y., on July 3, 1922, she came here 23 years ago from Maryland. Mrs. Everman represented Montgomery Ward in retail sales for many years and was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include her husband, Donald D.; son, Lawrence Crum Jr. of Prince Frederick, Md.; four daughters, Donna Elizabeth Hume of Milton, Ontario, Stacy Jeanne Loveland of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Dorothy Virginia Schlosser of Round Hill, Va., Leslie Ann Green of Inverness; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
