Maudell Townsend, 77, of Bushnell died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, in Bushnell. Born in Perry, Fla., she lived in Bushnell since 1972, formerly of Tampa. Mrs. Townsend was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Hunt of Bushnell, Dianne Mosher and Margaret Ivey, both of Tampa; two brothers, A.J. Jackson of Perry, Fla. and Parker Jackson of West Palm Beach; two sisters, Thelma Driggers of Bushnell and Myrtice Howell of West Palm Beach; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by son, Robert L. Townsend Jr. Funeral services for Mrs. Townsend were held Nov. 8, 1999 at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell.

Rev. Laurence J. Vincent, 81, Pastor
The Reverend Laurence J. Vincent, 81, of Bushnell died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Scranton, Pa. Born in England on June 30, 1918, Rev. Vincent graduated from Gordan College in Boston, Mass., in 1942; obtained a Bachelor of Divinity Degree from Augustana Lutheran Seminary in Rock Island, Ill., and a Masters Degree in Christian Education from Hartford Theological Seminary in Hartford, Conn. He was a Southern Baptist and spent 53 years in the ministry, pastoring many churches during this time. Rev. Vincent was survived by his wife, Jeremy; two daughters, Margery DelCarlo of St. Louis, Mo., and Pat Vincent of Bushnell; a granddaughter; one brother, John Vincent of Riverside, Calif.; two sisters, Pauline Farnham of Riverside, Calif., and Ruth Peacock of S. Burlington, Vt. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Bushnell, with Reverend Ron Thomas and the Reverend James Hughey officiating. Ogie Mae Crisp, 73, of Lake Panasoffkee died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at her residence. She was born in Willard, Ohio, and lived in Lake Panasoffkee since 1985 coming from Brandon in 1976. Mrs. Crisp was a homemaker in her own home.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee and a member of Too Far Organization, Lake Panasoffkee.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas; two sons, James Ronald Rogers of Ashland, Ohio, and Alan Dean Rogers of Davenport; daughter, Linda Ferne Leverett of Thonotosassa; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Crisp of Loveland, Ohio; eight brothers, Frank E. Britton of Lake Panasoffkee, James Britton of Albuquerque, N.M, David H. Britton of Grand Rapids, Mich., George E. Britton of Kissimmee, John P. Britton of Zanesville, Ohio, Larry C. Britton of Polk City, Harley U. Britton of Grand Rapids, Mich. Paul E. Britton of Columbus, Ohio; six sisters, Linda Saltz of Lake Panasoffkee, Jean Henry of Galion, Ohio, Thelma Smith of Jacksonville, Bonnie Richardson of Temple Terrace, Mary Thornsberry of Lake Panasoffkee, Ruth Britton of Mobile, Ala.; one step-grandchild, eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon.
Thomas A. Disch, 82, Foreman
Thomas Anthony Disch, 82, of Wildwood died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999. A native of Chicago, Ill., he came here in 1984 from Utica, Mich. Mr. Disch was a retired foreman with Diecraft of Troy, Mich. He was employed Maintenance Supervisor with Shutze & Techman Laboratory and was a graduate of Lane Technical High School, Chicago, Ill. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Coleman. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte E.; sons, Thom Disch of Lake Bluff, Ill., and Terry Disch of Rochester Hills, Mich.; daughter, Charlene Caudill of Wildwood; sisters, Dorothy Branger of Dallas, Texas, Beatrice Shannon of Genow City, Wis.; and five grandchildren. Joel William Domres, 23, Line operator
Joel William Domres, 23, of Brooksville died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999. Born in Marshfield, Wis., he moved to Brooksville this year from Webster. Mr. Domres was a line operator in egg production. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Bushnell. Survivors include his wife, Jeannie; parents, Allen and Sheri Domres of Auburndale, Wis.; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Clara Domres of Rosellville, Wis.; maternal grandparents, William and Audra Stute of Marshfield, Wis.; one brother, Jason Domres of Auburndale, Wis.; two sisters, Stacey Antoine of Marshfield, Wis., Kim Domres of Auburndale, Wis.

Elzie Floyd, 81, Retired
Elzie Floyd, 81, of Oxford died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999. Born in Georgia he moved to central Florida in 1960 from there. Mr. Floyd was retired from Lake County. He was a World War II veteran.
He was Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Reynolds; four sons, Paul Lloyd of Dona Vista, O'Neil Reynolds, Jack Reynolds and Bill Reynolds, all of Oxford; daughter, Ruth Martin of Oxford; two brothers, J.D. Floyd of Glenn St. Marys and Richard Foster of Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. M. Jane Gerhart, 74, of Wildwood died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999. Born in Muhlenberg, Pa., she moved to Wildwood in 1998 from Lancaster, Pa. Mrs. Gerhart was a retired bookkeeper. She was Lutheran. Joe Schoolcraft, 65, of Center Hill died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in Leesburg. Born in Clinton, Tenn., he moved to Center Hill in 1945 from Clinton, Tenn. Mr. Schoolcraft was a cattle truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Ethelyn; son, Joe Schoolcraft of Tarrytown, Fla.; half brother, John Schoolcraft of North Carolina; sister, Louise Kapazinski of Leesburg; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Alene Giddens Smith, 88, of Bushnell, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, in Gainesville. Born in Otter Creek, she was a lifelong resident of Florida and a long-time Bushnell resident. Mrs. Smith was a citrus sectionizer. she was a member of Lake Panasoffkee Church of God. Survivors include four sons, Kenneth B. Smith Sr., Lamar Smith, Grover C. Smith Jr., all of Bushnell, and John R. Smith of Inverness; two daughters, Betty Boyd of Dade City, and Margaret Johnson of clay Sink; four brothers, Bartley Giddens of Mims, Fla., Rudolf Giddens of Tampa, Richard A. Sara Kathleen Webster, 85, of Lake Panasoffkee died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999. Born in Kingsland, Texas, she lived in Sumter County most of her life. Mrs. Webster was a homemaker in her own home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Panasoffkee. Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Robinson of Wildwood; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Nov. 28, 1999, at Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell.
James Burl Whittaker Jr., 57, Retail sales
James Burl Whittaker Jr., 57, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, in Jacksonville. Born in Williamson, W.Va., he moved to Jacksonville 20 years ago from Orlando. Mr. Whittaker was in retail sales in the building supplies. He was served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as Master/Sgt. He was Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two sons, Jim Whittaker of Longwood and Torrey Whittaker of Orlando; daughter, Julie McCoy of Altamonte Springs; mother, Thelma Whittaker of Williamson, W.Va.; two brothers, Marvin Whittaker, Maryland, and David Whittaker of Beckley, W.Va.; sister, Colleen Taylor of S. Shore, Ky.; five grandchildren. Services for Mr. James Whittaker Jr were held Nov. 30, 1999 at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel in Bushnell. Interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with the Marine Corps League #708 officiating.
Diana Hudson Johnson, 71
Diana Hudson Johnson, 71, of Bushnell died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999. Born in Hungerford Berkshire, England, she moved to Bushnell from Canada in 1960.
Mrs. Johnson retired from the Sumter County Road Department after more than 30 years of service. She was Angelican.
Survivors include her husband, C.M. "Buster"; two sons, T.Michael of Leesburg and Robin B. of Bushnell; one grandson, Marcus Levi; one brother, Robert Hudson of Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada; her mother, Mary Hudson of Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada; and several neices and nephews.
Funeral Services were held for Mrs. Johnson on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel in Bushnell with the Rev. Ronnie Hunt officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Sarah Ruth Slinker, 76, Homemaker
Sarah Ruth Slinker, 76, of Dade City, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999 of natural causes. Ms. Slinker was born in Montgomery, Ala. and lived most of herlife in Florida. She was a Homemaker and a Protestant.
She is survived by her sister, Joan Reeves of Winter Park; and several neices and nephews.
Funeral Services for Ms. Slinker will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30 at Purcell Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Marvin Strickland officiating. Interment at Center Hill Cemetery.
Marie Etta Salerno, 83, Beautician
Marie Etta Salerno, 83, of Lake Panasoffkee, died on Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999. She was a beautician. Born in Plumbville, Ala., Ms. Salerno had been a resident in Spring Hill since 1989 prior to moving to Lake Panasoffkee.
She was Presbyterian.
Survivors include: two sons, Gene of Lake Panasoffkee and Jerry of Stow, OH; one daughter, Christine McCoy of DuBois, PA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
