Shannon H. Robinson of Cedar Key, passed away December 19, 2010 in Jacksonville. She was 39 years old.
She was born in Gainesville on November 12, 1971 and was a computer technician.
She is survived by her brother, Carl Robinson of Cedar Key, nieces, Callie Robinson, and Melissa Casto and nephew, K. C. Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curley & Janie Robinson and her brother, James Robinson.

Vaughn Judge "Jud" Quinn
Vaughn Judge "Jud" Quinn, Jr., passed away at his home in Augusta, GA, on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. He was 44 years old. He was born in Oklahoma to Vaughn Judge Quinn, Sr., and his wife Louise on November 7, 1966. He attended the Academy of Richmond County in Augusta, GA, a school which was founded as a military academy in 1783, was utilized by the Confederate Army during the Civil War, became a public school and has continually operated in Augusta since its inception.
Jud showed great artistic talent from the time he was a small child and grew into a reputable artist in Augusta. He was a loving father and friend. Through his kind heart and humor he touched many people, who now mourn the loss of a true friend.
He is survived by two sons, Vincent Quinn and Vaughn Judge "Jay" Quinn III of Cedar Key; step-children, Angelika "Jelly" Bodie and Daniel Smith of Augusta, GA; and a host of beloved friends. Jud became a Christian shortly before his death, and he will be missed by his church family.
A memorial service was held at The Building Worship Center in Augusta, GA on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
Arline Woods Healy
Arline Woods Healy of Cedar Key died at the Haven Hospice facility in Chiefland on October 28, 2010, as a result of several debilitating illnesses. She was 95, born in Bangor, Maine on November 9, 1914.
Arline and her husband, Richard, moved to Cedar Key upon Richard`s retirement from the Army in 1970. She remained in Cedar Key after his death in 1974. Arline was a part of the "Greatest Generation," the part that remained in the US raising their children while their husbands were half a world away at war. After WWII, she moved her family from Army postings across this country and in two foreign countries over a 26 year period, nurturing her children while instilling in them life`s essential moral values.
Arline was active in the Cedar Key Woman`s Club for several years. She is survived by her daughter, Carol, of Cedar Key, her primary care provider for the past decade, and her sons, Richard (Dick), of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Maurice (Buzz), of Cedar Key, and James (Jim) of Sanford, North Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Cedar Key at 11 a.m. on November 6, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Arline`s name be made to the Haven Hospice facility of Chiefland (311 NE 9th St., Chiefland, FL 32626).
Dewitt William Taylor
1914-2010
Dewitt William Taylor of Cedar Key passed away December 7, 2010 at Haven Hospice of the Tri Counties in Chiefland. He was 95 years old.
He was born in Cedar Key in 1914, the youngest of 12 children, and he graduated from Cedar Key High School in 1934. He left to pursue a career as a State Health Inspector, returned to Cedar Key upon his retirement in 1970 and resided here until his death.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Key. He enjoyed music, playing the piano and organ, and he was most proud of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nellie Mae Taylor, of Cedar Key, sons Robert D. Taylor of Frostproof and Mel Taylor of Tallahassee, grandson Rob Taylor, great-granddaughters Michelle Taylor, Robin Taylor and Heather Morgan and 2 great-great-grandchildren Shaylee Taylor and Mickey Taylor, all of Tallahassee.
Graveside services will be Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Key cemetery with Rev. Todd Pope officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Taylor`s memory to Cedar Key First Baptist Church, 717 2nd Street, Cedar Key, FL 32625.

Laura M. Watson
1912-2010
Laura M. Watson of Gulf Hammock passed away at the Tri County Nursing Home in Fanning Springs on November 12, 2010. She was born October 15, 1912 near Bronson, and she was 98 years old.
Mama was a life long resident of Levy County and a member of the United Methodist Church of Ellzey. She enjoyed working in the garden, working crossword puzzles, reading the Bible and talking about her family and friends. She grew sugar cane and made cane syrup for many years at her home in Gulf Hammock. She delivered the Gainesville Sun Newspaper for 11 years ending in the early 1970`s. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Will T. Watson, and a daughter, Patricia.
Mama is survived by her seven sons, Willie E. Watson (Elsie) of Rosewood, Jesse L. Watson (Carolyn) of Naples, FL , Hughy Watson ( Mary) of Kirby, Arkansas, Doyle A. Watson ( Chris) of Inglis, FL. , Stephen D. Watson ( Betty Kay) of Gulf Hammock, FL, William M. Watson (Elaine) of Chiefland, FL., Jerry W. Watson ( Elizabeth) of Gulf Hammock, FL., 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Mrs. Marie Meeks of Ellzey, FL.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Ellzey. Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home in Chiefland.
Myrl Bell Richburg
1919-2010
Myrl Bell Richburg of Chiefland passed away December 8, 2010 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 91 years old.
She was born in Cross City on April 27, 1919 to James and Annie Sheffield. She spent her lifetime in the Tri County area and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Richburg was owner of Richburg Seafood Restaurant in Cedar Key. She was a Christian, loving mother, grandmother and wife. Her hobbies were gardening and crocheting.
She is survived by her grandsons, Preston (Joanne) Richburg of Chiefland, Tracy (Kimberley) Richburg of Newberry and granddaughter Glenda Richburg of Cedar Key, 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Richburg, sons Gary and Bobby Richburg and grandsons Grant and Nelson Richburg.
Graveside services will be Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Key Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, December 11 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Chiefland.

Daisy Frances Tewmey Freeman
1934-2011
Daisy Frances Tewmey Freeman of Cedar Key died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 77 years old.
Born March 24, 1934 in Harrodsburg, KY to Laura and Garnett Tewmey, sister to Irma and James Lloyd Tewmey, Daisy Tewmey married
her childhood sweetheart, Nolen W. Freeman, on February 17, 1951 in Harrodsburg, KY. The couple enjoyed over 60 years of devoted marriage to each other.
After their marriage, the Freemans lived in several cities as Mr. Freeman built a career in law enforcement. While he was with the Kentucky State Police, they lived in Alexandria, KY. They moved to Lexington, KY, where he was Chief of the Lexington Police Department.
Later, he became Chief of Police in Gainesville, FL.
For the past 20 years, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman have lived in Cedar Key.
Devoted to her husband, family and friends, Daisy was well-known and loved in all of the communities in which she lived. A strong, yet quiet, presence to her family and friends, she never had a negative thing to say of anyone. She lived a life of varied interests that included figure skating, cycling and archery (where she was the U.S. Eastern Division Field Archery champion).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and James Garnett Tewmey, her sisters Besse and Irma, and son James Anthony.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her husband of sixty years, Nolen W. Freeman of Cedar Key; four sons: Nolen W. II (Lexington, KY), William A. (Grinnell, IA), David Joseph (Falmouth, KY) and Eric Scott (Georgetown, KY), loving daughters-in-law, Susan Freeman (Georgetown, KY) and Evelyn Freeman (Grinnell, IA); eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be planned for the near future in Cedar Key.
Patricia Smith
Patricia Smith of Cedar Key passed away on January 23, 2011. She was 73 years old.
She was born on August 20, 1937 in Portola, CA to Dewey and Mertie Hastings. She was of the Catholic faith but attended church at the Christ Episcopal Church of Cedar Key. She moved to Cedar Key in 1989 from Kentucky with her husband Robert B. Smith.
She was the owner of a book store in Cedar Key for many years. She volunteered her time at the Cedar Key Public Library, also serving on the county-wide Library Advisory Committee. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and needle point.
She is survived by her sister Zoie Raney and her husband Carmelo Cantore, 2 nephews, 1 great niece, 1 great nephew and 1 great-great nephew. A graveside service will be held on January 31, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Florida National cemetery in Bushnell, Fl with Pastor Jim Wright officiating. She will be interred next to her husband who passed away in 1991.
The family plans on holding a memorial service on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church of Cedar Key with Father Jim Wright officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland.
Lori Rae Harris Hoff
Lori Hoff passed away on January 7, 2005, due to complications. She was 37 years of age. Lori lived in Cedar Key off and on for a few years. She moved back to Ohio 2 years ago.
Survivors include her parents; Ronald and Janet Taylor Harris, her Daughter; Jessica Hillman, and one Brother; Douglas (Colleen) Harris.
Graveside services were held on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at the Elks cemetery in McArthur, Ohio. Reverend James Taylor officiated.
Arrangements were by Garrett Funeral Home in McArthur, Ohio.
