FORT WHITE - Dorothy Lacy "Annie" Williams, 70, of Fort White died Friday, June 9, 2000 at the residence of her niece Dorothy Green in Lake Butler.
Born in Union County, Mrs. Williams moved to Fort White later in her life.

Mary Bell
LAKE BUTLER - Mary Jean Bell, 57, of Lake Butler died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at Hospice House in Gainesville following an extended illness.
Born in White Plains, N.Y., she lived in Inverness before moving to Lake Butler. She was a homemaker and was of the Protestant faith.
Mrs. Bell is survived by: her husband Ray Bell of Lake Butler; her father Danny Wajaett of Lake Placid; two sisters, Mabel Louise Flannagan of Winter Haven and Jean Wajaett of New York; a brother Danny Wajaett of New York and a half brother Frank Ackley of Inverness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bell will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000 in the Chapel of Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke with the Rev. Neil Griffis officiating with burial in Lawtey Cemetery.

Angie Brantley
JACKSONVILLE - Angie Gomez Brantley, 92, of Jacksonville died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at the Homestead Alzheimers Home in Starke following an extended illness.
Born in Baghdad, Fla., Mrs. Brantley moved to Jacksonville in 1991 from Ft. Lauderdale. She was of the Baptist faith and was a waitress.
Mrs. Brantley is survived by: a son Harry Smith of Jacksonville, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brantley will be held at a later date. Jones Funeral Home of Starke is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc. of NE Fla., 2131 Mango Pl., Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Ona Griffis
LAKE BUTLER - Ona Richardson Griffis, 88, of Lake Butler died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 at BrookeWood Nursing Center in Starke following an extended illness.
Born in Sanderson, Mrs. Griffis lived most of her life in Raiford. She retired in 1954 from the Union County School Board as a bus driver. She was a member of the New River New Congregational Methodist Church in Raiford.
Mrs. Griffis is survived by: two daughters, Alice Ellington of Lake Butler and Winnofae Fair of Tallahassee; a son Keith Griffis of Macclenny; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Griffis will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000 at the New River New Congregational Methodist Church with Brother Franklin Griffis and Brother Michael Norman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove cemetery near Raiford. Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 6-8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Clifton Polk
STARKE - Clifton A. Polk, 84, of Starke, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Brooker, Mr. Polk lived most of his life there before moving to Starke nine years ago. He was a heavy equipment mechanic.
Mr. Polk is survived by: his caregiver Mary N. Johns of Starke; two daughters, Sherry Myers of Gainesville and Alice Polk of Bell; a son Charles Polk of Bell and a brother Lewis D. Polk of Greenville, Ga.
Funeral services for Mr. Polk were Sept. 8, 2000 in the Chapel of Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler with the Rev. Al Paulson officiating. Burial followed in Dedan cemetery in Brooker.

Amy Scripture
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - Amy M. Scripture, 103, of Keystone Heights died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at The Alliance Health Care Center in Deland following an extended illness.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., Mrs. Scripture moved to Keystone Heights in 1963 from Homestead. She was a charter member of Friendship Bible Church. She was a homemaker and long-time minister's wife.
Mrs. Scripture is survived by: two daughters, Faith Smith of Keystone Heights and Alice Mosura of Kissimmee; a son the Rev. George B. Scripture of Keystone Heights; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Milton J. Scripture.
Funeral services for Mrs. Scripture will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000 in the Friendship Bible Church with the Rev. Ralph Godwin and the Rev. Lloyd Green conducting the services. Interment will be in Keystone Heights cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Keystone Heights.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scripture Memorial at the Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Calif.

Mary Smith
STARKE - Mary Jeane Smith, 68, of Starke died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville following an extended illness.
Born in Moline, Ill., Mrs. Smith moved to Starke in 1972. She retired in 1995 as secretary of Smith Brothers Body Shop in Starke.
Mrs. Smith is survived by: her husband Harold "Smitty" Smith of Starke; two sons, Tom Smith of Lawtey and Jerry Smith of Starke; two sisters, Elizabeth Taylor and Cindy Crawley, both of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area; a brother Jon Smith of Orion, Ill.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2000 in the Chapel of Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke with the Rev. Gene Folsom officiating with entombment in Crosby Lake Cemetery.

Jefro Watkins
STARKE - Jefro Watkins, 65, of Starke died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000 at Shands at Starke Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Ellenton, Mr. Watkins was a member of Church of God by Faith in Starke. He was retired from the construction industry.
Mr. Watkins is survived by: a companion Alene DeSue of Starke; a son Emmit Watkins of Augusta, Ga.; a daughter Addie B. Newsome of Sarasota; two sisters, Ethel Williams of Sarasota and Mary Williams of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Watkins were Sept. 9, 2000 with Elder James E. McKnight conducting the services. Interment was in Oddfellow cemetery under the direction of Haile Funeral Home of Starke.

Clarence Bivins
EARLTON - Clarence Earl Bivins, 86, of Earlton died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000 at Shands at Alachua General Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Columbia County, Mr. Bivins was a farmer and was also employed with the Florida State Prison before his retirement in 1976. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Waldo.
Mr. Bivins is survived by: his wife Jessie Green Bivins of Earlton; a son Eldred Bivins of Earlton; two daughters, Jan Bivins of Earlton and Marion Smith of Waldo; a sister Letha Corbitt of Providence; a brother Alferd Bivins of Providence; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Bivins will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 at the First Baptist Church of Waldo with the Rev. Jim DuBois officiating and the Rev. Craig Jacobs assisting with burial in Providence Cemetery. Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke is in charge of arrangements.

Hilda DuBay
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - Hilda G. DuBay, 84, of Keystone Heights died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000 at Shands at Starke following an extended illness.
Born in Germany, Mrs. DuBay moved to the USA in 1926 and to Keystone Heights in 2000 from Philadelphia, Pa. She was a retired factory worker and was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. DuBay is survived by: a daughter Henrietta Bielling of Keystone Heights, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John S. DuBay.
Funeral services for Mrs. DuBay were Sept. 27, 2000 at St. Helena Catholic Church in Philadelphia. Interment was in Holy Sepulcher cemetery with Jones Funeral Home of Keystone Heights in charge of local arrangements.

Ruby Edwards
LAKE BUTLER - Ruby M. Edwards, 56, of Lake Butler died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Brooker, Mrs. Edwards moved to Lake Butler from Raiford 30 years ago. She was a member of Body of Christ Assembly Church of God in Christ of Lake Butler.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by: four daughters, Debra Jenkins and Jacquelyn Webb, Robin Edwards Watkins and Kristy Edwards, all of Lake Butler; a son Tommy Albritton of Gainesville; three sisters, Ethel Clark of Jacksonville, Erma Albritton and Carolyn Coger, both of Raiford; two brothers, Larence Albritton of St. Petersburg and Willie Albritton of Macclenny and six grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edwards will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at Body of Christ Assembly, Church of God in Christ, Lake Butler with Elder Jacob James officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Call cemetery under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home of Gainesville.
There will be a wake at Body of Christ on Friday, Sept. 29, 2000 from 6-7 p.m.
