Dorothy Wilson

SEPT. 14, 1929 -- MAY 3, 2005

DELAND -- Dorothy L. Wilson, 75, of South Salisbury Avenue, a 32-year employee of Grand Union Super Market before her retirement, died Tuesday at home.

Born in DeLand, Ms. Wilson moved to New York City in 1956 and in 1991 returned to DeLand. She was a member of the Greater Union First Baptist Church and a graduate of Euclid High School.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Diana Monroe, Stone Mountain, Ga., both of whom provided for her care; a brother, Mitchell Jr., DeLand; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mack is in charge.

Christine Beebe
APRIL 14, 1934 -- MAY 2, 2005

EVERGREEN, Ala. -- Christine R. Beebe, 71, of Evergreen, a Holly Hill resident from 1962 to 1992, died Monday at home.

A native of Vienna, Austria, Mrs. Beebe retired as a comptroller for General Electric.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; a son, Rodney, and a daughter, Kathryn Northrup, both of Wildwood; a brother, Frank Rudiger, Simi Valley, Calif.; a sister, Eva Fialko, Evergreen; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Evelyn Bolt

JUNE 15, 1930 -- MAY 2, 2005

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Evelyn Marie Bolt, 74, of Anderson, S.C., a former resident of Daytona Beach, died Monday at Anderson Area Medical Center, Anderson.

Mrs. Bolt, a homemaker, was born in Oconee County, S.C. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Anderson. She was an avid gardener.

No known immediate relatives survive. The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, is in charge.

Alice Bridges

MARCH 2, 1914 -- APRIL 29, 2005

DAYTONA BEACH -- Alice Bridges, 91, of South Ridgewood Avenue, who worked in retail sales with Pat Parker Clothing, died Friday at Halifax Medical Center.

Mrs. Bridges was born in Findlay, Ill., and moved here from Indianapolis. She was a longtime resident of Louttit Manor.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Schlosberg, Port Orange; a sister, Jan Apcherman, Hawaii; and four grandchildren. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

Mavis Cheney

MAY 23, 1923 -- APRIL 30, 2005

DELTONA -- Mavis S. Cheney, 81, of Collinswood Drive, a resident since 1988, died Saturday at Florida Hospital DeLand.

Ms. Cheney, a homemaker, was born in Detroit and moved to this area from Elmira, Mich. She was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. She was a member of Glenwood Presbyterian Church, Glenwood. Ms. Cheney enjoyed reading.

Survivors include a daughter, April Waters, Deltona; and a grandchild. Tri-County Cremation, Longwood, is in charge.

Darlene Chiocca

OCT. 13, 1942 -- MAY 1, 2005

ORMOND BEACH -- Darlene Chiocca, 62, of Fernery Trail, a probation counselor in Volusia County, died Sunday at Daytona Beach Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Chiocca moved here in 1976 from her native Chicago. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting.

Survivors include three sons, Bob, Ormond Beach, Frank, Chicago, and Joe, Lockport, Ill.; three brothers, Anthony, Fort Lauderdale, and Basil and Robert, both of Chicago; a sister, Marianna Hamilton, Waldorf, Md.; and two grandchildren. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Helena Collins

APRIL 23, 1938 -- MAY 1, 2005

ORMOND BEACH -- Helena E. Collins, 67, of Avenue E, a drug counselor, died Sunday at home.

Mrs. Collins was born in West Haven, Conn., and moved here from Massachusetts in 1986.

Survivors include a son, John, Holly Hill; two daughters, Dawn Collins and Lorraine Hendrickson, both of Ormond Beach; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Newlife Cremation is in charge.

George Dominianni

MAY 9, 1919 -- MAY 2, 2005

PALM COAST -- George J. Dominianni, 85, of Foster Lane, who retired as a meat inspector for the State of Florida, died Monday at Florida Hospital Flagler.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Dominianni, moved here in 1995 from Keystone Heights. He also retired as a meat dealer and owner of butcher shops in New York. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus where he was a Third degree Knight and a former exalted ruler and captain. He also was a district vice president of the Order of the Elks Lodge, where he has served on several committees.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ada; a son, Warren, Boston; a brother, Frank, Orange, Va.; and two grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Florida Elks Lodge Charities, co Ormond Beach Elks Lodge, 285 Wilmette Ave., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Robert Goodwin

JUNE 3, 1943 -- APRIL 25, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Robert Albert Goodwin, 61, of Lacey Lane, a tree landscaper, died April 25 at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mr. Goodwin, who was born in Holly Hill, was a lifetime resident of Volusia County.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Goodwin Jr., and Eric and William Anderson, and three daughters, Tonya Goodwin, Pamela Anderson and Kristina Goodnogh, all of Daytona Beach; and three grandchildren. Newlife Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

William Kell

MAY 31, 1944 -- APRIL 27, 2005

BUNNELL -- William "Bill" Kell, 60, of Ash Street, who moved here from Orlando in 1985, died Friday at Monroe County Hospital, Tompkinsville, Ky.

Mr. Kell, a former mechanic, was born in Hoopeston, Ill. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Idella; three daughters, Sarah Martenson, Holly Hill, Crystal Lutes, Deltona, and Tracy Viera, Orlando; his mother, Clara Garmon, Tompkinsville; two brothers, Daryl, Lakeland, and Leslie, Franklin, Ky.; three sisters, Darlene Mitchell, Glasgow, Ky., Cheryl Richardson, Tompkinsville, and Ruthie Jessie, Edmonton, Ky.; and four grandchildren. Yokley-Trible Funeral Home, Tompkinsville, is in charge.

Walter Kersey

JUNE 30, 1945 -- MAY 3, 2005

DELAND -- Walter Kersey, 59, of Stevens Avenue, a restaurant dishwasher, died Tuesday at Woodland Terrace Extended Care.

Mr. Kersey, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in Metter, Ga., and moved here in 1960 from Sevierville, Tenn.

Survivors include his mother, Fleta Blount , and a brother, George Jr., both of DeLand. Tri-County Cremation, Longwood, is in charge.

Vicki Kulkofsky

MARCH 28, 1940 -- APRIL 30, 2005

PORT ORANGE -- Vicki Kulkofsky, 65, of Mariposa Avenue, who retired as an assistant manager in 1996 from K-Mart in Cleveland, died Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, Jacksonville.

Mrs. Kulkofsky was born in Cleveland and moved here in 1996 from Parma Heights, Ohio. She was a member of the Pilots Club of Daytona Beach, and was a co-chairperson of the LaCosta Village Ladies Luncheon Committee. Mrs. Kulkofsky enjoyed crafts, cards and bingo.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Michael; a son, Michael, Marion, Ohio; her father, A. Velisek, Cleveland; and a grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to the Halifax Humane Society, P.O. Box 9035, Daytona Beach, FL 32120-9035. Hatcher Cremation, Jacksonville, is in charge.

Russell Leonard

SEPT. 1, 1930 -- APRIL 30, 2005

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Russell W. Leonard, 74, of South Myrtle Avenue, a retired electrical aerospace engineer, died Saturday at home.

Mr. Leonard, who served in the Marine Corp, the Navy and Marine reserves, was born in Norwich, Conn., and moved here in 1958 from Connecticut. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Martha; two sons, Russell and James Leonard, both of Georgia; a daughter, Laura Crowder, Arkansas; a stepson, Michael Nohr, New Smyrna Beach; a stepdaughter, Connie Holiskey, Florida; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Newlife Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Cecelia Loper

MAY 12, 1916 -- MAY 1, 2005

OAK HILL -- Cecelia R. Loper, 88, of West Loop, a former employee in the bakery industry, died Sunday at the Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Mrs. Loper was born in East Jordan, Mich., and moved to this area in 1985 from Comstock Park, Mich. She was an avid crafter.

Survivors include a son, Wayne, Wyoming, Mich.; two daughters, Christine Nixon, Oak Hill, and Millie Bentley, Grand Rapids, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Baldwin Brothers Memorial, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.
