Carmine Danio

JAN. 1, 1933 -- AUG. 25, 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Carmine Danio, 71, of Gull Drive South, former owner and operator of Sorrento's Restaurant, died Wednesday at Halifax Medical Center.

Mr. Danio, a native of Modica, Italy, moved here in 1971 from Long Island, N.Y. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange, and Pelican Bay Country Club. Mr. Danio enjoyed playing golf and travel.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Rose; a son, John, Ormond Beach; a daughter, Grace Quick, Port Orange; a sister, Mary Cicero, Delray Beach; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174; or American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.

Wunya Feaster

DEC. 30, 1965 -- AUG. 14. 2004

DAYTONA BEACH -- Wunya Lavada Feaster, 38, of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard, a resident since 1982, died Aug. 14 when she was electrocuted on South Martin Luther King Boulevard by a downed power line during Hurricane Charley.

Mrs. Feaster, a Popeye's Chicken employee, moved to this area from her native Lake City. She was a 1984 graduate of Mainland High School and enjoyed singing and sports.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy; a son, Frankie Lee, and a daughter, Kelly Thomas, both of Daytona Beach; three brothers, Wallace Thomas, Daytona Beach, Nathaniel Thomas Jr., McClenny, and Roosevelt Thomas, Lake City; four sisters, Nancy Thomas, Daytona Beach, Shirley Thomas, Wilburn, and Veionza and Vernice Thomas, both of Detroit; and her grandmother, Annie Thomas. Gainous is in charge.

Christine Garro

DEC. 27, 1919 -- AUG. 25, 2004

PALM COAST -- Christine E. Garro, 84, of Peppercorn Lane, a native of Mountain Lakes, N.J., died Wednesday at home.

Mrs. Garro moved to this area in 1990 from Montville, N.J. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, William; a son, William Jr., Boonton Township, N.J.; a daughter, Susan Kovacs, Palm Coast; a sister, Norma Journey, New Jersey; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Florida Hospital Memorial HospiceCare, 770 W. Granada Blvd., Suite 319, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

Charles Hundley

APRIL 29, 1957 -- AUG. 17, 2004

HOLLY HILL -- Charles Bradley Hundley, 47, a native of Martinsville, Va., died Aug. 17 at a friend's home in Holly Hill.

Survivors include a brother, John, Florida City. Newlife Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Sara Irland

JAN. 16, 1935 -- AUG. 24, 2004

DEBARY -- Sara Nell Hardin Irland, 69, of Valencia Road, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Tuesday at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford.

Mrs. Irland was born in Sanford and moved to West Volusia in 1943.

Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Rae; three daughters, Wanda Withem, Enterprise, Donna Kelly, Orange City, and Sara Jewell, Ormond Beach; two brothers, Wise Hardin, Enterprise, and James Hardin, Winter Haven; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, Orange City, is in charge.

Parie Jenkins

NOV. 3, 1919 -- AUG. 21, 2004

DELAND-- Parie Lee Jenkins, 84, of West Euclid Avenue, a resident since 1959, died Saturday at University Center West.

Mrs. Jenkins, a homemaker, moved to this area from her native Cuthbert, Ga. She was a member of New St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Jenkins enjoyed arts and crafts.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph, Miami, and Amos, Fayetteville, N.C.; three daughters, Alma Kimes and Elizabeth Scott, both of DeLand, and Retha Nance, Winter Springs; a brother, Fred Porter, Fort Lauderdale; 25 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Brinson Funeral Home, Orlando, is in charge.

Ernest Kovacs

JAN. 10, 1933 -- AUG. 23, 2004

DELTONA -- Ernest Julius Kovacs, 71, of Abagail Drive, a resident since 1992, died Monday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Mr. Kovacs, an Air Force veteran, was born in North Bergen, N.J., and moved here from Carteret, N.J. He worked as a dispatcher for a dental supply warehouse before his retirement. Mr. Kovacs was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and Disabled American veterans. A Little League coach, he also enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen; two sons, Charles, Jackson, N.J., and Michael, Great Meadows, N.J.; a daughter, Mary Mruk, Henderson, Nev.; two sisters, Ethel Bamburak, West Virginia, and Betty Stima, Morganville, N.J.; and six grandchildren. FourTowns Cremation, Orange City, is in charge.

Elizabeth Lollich

MAY 6, 1919 -- AUG. 24, 2004

PORT ORANGE -- Elizabeth B. Lollich, 85, of Sunrise Oaks Drive, a former director of Christian education in Clinton, Iowa, died Tuesday at Manila Home Care.

Mrs. Lollich was born in Richmond Hills, N.Y., and moved here in 1996 from Clinton. She earned a bachelor's degree in 1948 from Maryville College in Tennessee and in 1957, she received a master's degree in religious education from Biblical Seminary in New York. Mrs. Lollich, a homemaker and avid gardener, was member of Port Orange Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a son, James, Port Orange. Memorial donations may be made to Manila Home Care, 5463 Landis Ave., Port Orange, FL 32127. Shannon is in charge.

Florence Molstre

JULY 24, 1910 -- AUG. 24, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- Florence "Patty" Molstre, 94, of North Old Kings Road, a resident since 1969, died Tuesday at Avante At Ormond Beach.

Mrs. Molstre, a homemaker, was born in Terryville, Conn., and moved from New Haven, Conn. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed sewing, crafts and shopping.

No known immediate relatives survive. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Janice Phillips

OCT. 29, 1949 -- AUG. 22, 2004

DEBARY -- Janice Lynn Phillips, 54, of Riviera Drive, a customer representative for Convergys, Heaththrow, died Sunday at home.

Mrs. Phillips, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in Clifton, Texas, and moved here in 1993 from Sanford. She earned an associate degree from Seminole Community College.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Bill; two sons, Todd Brown, Juno, Alaska, and Nicki Brown, Cedar Key; two stepsons, Marc, DeBary, and Ryan, Florida; a step-daughter, Sharon Phillips, Albuquerque, N.M.; and a sister, Cindy Thies, Clifton. Altman-Long is in charge.

John Randow

APRIL 15, 1922 -- AUG. 20, 2004

ORMOND BEACH -- John J. Randow, 82, of Falls Way Drive, a toll collector on the Pennsylvania Turnpike before his retirement, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.

Born in Atlantic City, N.J., Mr. Randow, an Army veteran of World War II, moved here in 1990 from Denver, Pa. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and Riviera Golf Club. He enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mildred; a son, John, Ephrata, Pa.; and a brother, Edward, Haddon Heights, N.J. Lohman-Daytona, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Thomas Young

SEPT. 21, 1949 -- AUG. 23, 2004

PORT ORANGE -- Thomas D. Young, 54, of East Willow Run, a courier for Southland Corp., died Monday at his companion's home in Port Orange.

Mr. Young, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, moved here in 1956 from his native Ashville, N.C. A 1969 graduate of Mainland High School, he formerly owned Humdinger Restaurant in Daytona Beach. A Miami Dolphins fan, he enjoyed travel.

Survivors include a son, Christopher, Port Orange, and a brother, Joseph, Key Biscayne. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174; or Pet Society Inc. of Edgewater, 2922 Unity Tree Drive, Edgewater, FL 32141. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.

Vitant Abraitis

MAY 3, 1916 -- AUG. 23, 2004

PALM COAST -- Vitant Abraitis, 88, of Patric Drive, a supervisor of a New Jersey shipping company, died Monday at Florida Hospital-Flagler.

Mr. Abraitis was born in Manhattan, N.Y., and moved here in 1968 from New Jersey. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He also worked as a lawyer in Europe and enjoyed politics, golf and writing.

Survivors include his wife Stefania. Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.
