NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Frances Ross, 78, of North Duss Street, a resident since 1965, died Friday at home.
Mrs. Ross moved to this area from her birthplace, Tallahassee. She was a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church where she was a former usher and choir member.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Richard; two sons, Overton McDaniel, New Smyrna Beach, and Thomas Dozier, Tampa; a daughter, Lefonia Boyd, New Smyrna Beach; her mother, Edna Carthon, Titusville; two sisters, Pansy Rutherford, Titusville, and Carleen Adkins, Richmond, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Gainous-Wynn is in charge.
Florence Satler

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Florence A. Satler, 70, of Cedar Dunes Drive, a systems analyst for Eastern Airlines, Miami for 33 years, died Friday at home.
Born in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Satler moved here from Sunrise in 1994. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and Eastern Airlines Employees Association. She also was a systems analyst for electronic data systems in Fort Lauderdale.

Mary Schonger

HOLLY HILL -- Mary Schonger, 83, of LPGA Boulevard, a native of Kingston, N.Y., died Monday at Bishop's Glen.
Mrs. Schonger, a homemaker, moved to this area in 1987 from Stone Ridge, N.Y. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Howard; a daughter, Barbara Severs, New York City; and two grandchildren. Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.
Loretta Weber

DELTONA -- Loretta D. Weber, 84, of Mariner Terrace, a buyer for several ladies clothing stores including Jaynes in Dunkirk, N.Y., died Saturday at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Orange City.
Mrs. Weber, a native of Pomfret, N.Y., came to this area in 1982 from Dunkirk. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, John; a brother, Raymond Dudek, Dunkirk; and a sister, Delphine Glenn, Midland, Mich. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.
Byron White

PALM COAST -- Byron L. White, 87, of Wynnfield Drive, a commercial mechanic for Hart & Co. in Brooklyn, N.Y., died Thursday at Flagler Pines, Bunnell.
Mr. White was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and in 1990 moved here from Queens, N.Y. He was a member of United Evangelical Missionary Outreach Church. She enjoyed watching baseball, gardening and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Veronica Mayne, MorantBay, Jamaica; and Elaine Reid, Chicago; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. INDIANAPOLIS -- Jeanette E. Eld, 32, of Indianapolis, a former Daytona Beach resident, died Monday at Community Hospital South.
Ms. Eld was born in St. Louis. She worked for Bank One in Indianapolis, and was a graduate of Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Jeffery Maurice Essick, 49, of South Atlantic Avenue, an administrator in radio broadcasting at WKTO FM, died Monday at home.
Born in Columbia, S.C., Mr. Essick moved here in 2002 from Marietta, Ga. He was a member of Faith Renewal Center. Mr. Essick enjoyed music, the beach, his Mustang and making people laugh.
Survivors include his father, Irving, Brunswick, Ga.; his mother, Kathleen Dodd, Marietta; a sister, Sandra Harper, New Smyrna Beach; and two brothers, Lou Jr., Marietta, and Ron, Brandon. ORANGE CITY -- Delores K. Funky, 78, of Veterans Memorial Parkway, a resident since 1984, died Monday at Majestic Oaks.
Mrs. Funky, a homemaker, was born in Chicago and came here from Higgins Lake, Mich. She was a member of The Chapel At John Knox Village. Mrs. Funky attended the University of Michigan and was an avid golfer.

KEY WEST -- Mary Ethel Cox Hilbert, 74, of Key West, a former resident of DeLand, died Sunday at home.
Mrs. Hilbert, a homemaker, was born in Bethel, Ky.

ORANGE CITY -- Marion A. Hurley, 74, of Water Oak Circle, a solderer for Stromberg Carlson before her retirement, died Tuesday at Majestic Oaks.
Mrs. Hurley moved here in 1962 from her native Rochester, N.Y.

Zula Johnson

SANFORD -- Zule Mae Johnson, 76, of Sanford, a part-time resident of Walker Street in Holly Hill, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Johnson, who retired from Sheller Globe Manufacturing, Norfolk, Va., was born in Marion, N.C. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church.

James Leyden

ORMOND BEACH -- James K. Leyden, 46, of Sunny Shore Drive, the owner of Coastal Irrigation, died Saturday at home.
Mr. Leyden, a Navy veteran, came to this area in 1990 from his birthplace, Worcester, Mass.

Robert Long

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS -- Robert E. Long, 86, of Altamonte Springs, a former Deltona resident, died Sunday in Lake Mary at a care center.
Mr. Long, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, was born in Cincinnati. He moved to Altamonte Springs from Deltona in 1996. He retired in 1979 after 20 years as a medical equipment salesman with General Electric in King of Prussia, Pa. A 32nd-degree mason, he was lifetime member of Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 95, Louisville, Ky., and the Scottish Rites Bodies, Orlando.
Survivors include a son, Larry, Daytona Beach; two daughters, Jennifer Walsh, Ormond Beach, and Andria Herr, Lake Mary; a sister, Barbara Bauer, Washington State; and four grandchildren. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.
