Bobby Bon Fleur

AUG. 12, 1944 -- AUG. 5, 2004

PANAMA CITY BEACH -- Bobby Bon Fleur, 59, of Panama City Beach, a Daytona Beach native, died Thursday at home.

Mr. Bon Fleur, a Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War, attended the University of Kansas and was a 1963 graduate of Mainland High School, where he played on the football and baseball teams. A Panama City Beach resident since 1971, he formerly worked as a mutuel manager at the Ebro Greyhound Park. Mr. Bon Fleur enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Beverly; two daughters, Andreia Posey and Amy Gorman, both of Panama City Beach; his father, William "Bill, " Daytona Beach; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405. Wilson Funeral Home, Panama City, is in charge.

William Jones

MARCH 21, 1942 -- AUG. 5, 2004

ORANGE CITY -- William Michael Jones, 62, of Buford Avenue, who owned and operated Paddy's Pub and Eatery, died Thursday at home.

Mr. Jones was born in Youngwood, Pa., and came to this area in 1979 from Greensburg, Pa. He was president of the Orange City Little League.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; two sons, Michael, Orange City, and William Jr., Maitland; two daughters, Mary Stafidas, Orange City, and Crystal Dunwiddie, DeBary; and four grandchildren. FourTowns Cremation is in charge.

Max Katz

MAY 19, 1930 -- AUG. 4, 2004

DEBARY -- Max Jacob Katz, 74, a former teacher and executive director of Harrisburg-Steelton-Highspire Vo-Tech School for Business Education, died Wednesday at home.

Mr. Katz, a Navy and Navy Reserves veteran, was born in Pittsburgh, and moved here from Harrisburg, Pa. He also was principle of Steelton-Highspire High School and retired as the assistant superintendent of the Steelton-Highspire School District.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dolores; a son, David, Hershey, Pa.; a daughter, Deborah Bressler, Harrisburg; a brother, Stanley, Henderson, Nev.; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Reese Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is in charge.

Elmo Lane Jr.

JAN. 23, 1948 -- AUG. 4, 2004

DELTONA -- Elmo Allen Lane Jr., 56, of Keyes Lane, one of the first black firefighters to serve in his hometown of DeLand, died Wednesday at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford.

Mr. Lane attended the former Southwestern High School, where he played tailback on the football team before graduating in 1966. After high school, he attended Alabama A&M and Shaw universities and continued his football career, playing safety. He also played semipro football in Atlanta before returning to DeLand. Mr. Lane worked about six years for the DeLand Fire Department and later owned a tree surgery business serving West Volusia. He enjoyed reading the Bible, poetry and painting.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, the Rev. Carolyn; three sons, Spirited, Deltona, Marvis, Atlanta, and Perse, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.; three daughters, Faithe Lane, Deltona, Tonya Walker, Tampa, and Mia Lane, Atlanta; two brothers, Wallace, College Park, Ga., and Michael, Powder Springs, Ga.; six sisters, Vera Butler, Fay Watson and Mistic Fisher, all of DeLand, Joan Hughley, Riverdale, Ga., Vanessa Wilson, Stone Mountain, Ga., and Lynne Young, Columbus, Ga.; and 16 grandchildren. Mack, DeLand, is in charge.

John Mazey

NOV. 21, 1919 -- AUG. 5, 2004

PORT ORANGE -- John Mazey, 84, of Dove Avenue, who retired after 10 years from Anheiser-Busch Brewery, Newark, N.J., died Thursday at Hospice Care Center.

Mr. Mazey, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and came here in 1984 from Pocono, Pa. He formerly worked for 31 years at Ballentine Brewery in Newark. He was a member of White Chapel Church of God, South Daytona, Port Orange Elks Lodge and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3282. He enjoyed bowling, dancing and travel.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Jenny; and a stepdaughter, Doreen Ferguson, Port Orange, FL 32129. Cardwell & Maloney is in charge.

William Miller

MARCH 25, 1924 -- AUG. 5, 2004

DEBARY -- William E. Miller, 80, of Plantation Road, a professional bowler, died Thursday at home.

Born in Plainfield, N.J., Mr. Miller, a Navy veteran of World War II, moved here in 1975 from North Plainfield, N.J. He owned and operated pro shops and bowling alley's in New Jersey and Florida. A charter member of the Professional Bowlers Association, he also played in minor league baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an avid golfer and was a starter for 10 years at the DeBary Country Club. Mr. Miller also worked at the DeLand skate park.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jeanne; two sons, William, Orange City, and Randy, DeLand; a daughter, Kathy Senna, North Plainfield; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia - Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Altman-Long is in charge.

Eugene Noble

MARCH 8, 1919 -- AUG. 5, 2004

DELTONA -- Eugene Franklin Noble, 85, of Herndon Avenue, a retired metallurgist for Rex of Florida, died Thursday at a private home in Deltona.

Mr. Noble was born in Lafayette, Ind., and came here in 1988 from Orlando. He was a master Mason at South Seminole Masonic Lodge No. 364 and the Bahia Shrine-Orlando. An avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, he also enjoyed square dancing, bowling, travel, playing cards and cooking.

Survivors include a son, Robert, Chicago; three daughters, Debra Peltz, Deltona, Nancy Criswell, Coral Springs, and Joyce Howard, Tallahassee; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Millie Robinson

FEB. 6, 1940 -- AUG. 4, 2004

PALM COAST -- Millie Jean Robinson, 64, of Ryecroft Lane, a native of Saltville, Va., died Wednesday at home.

Mrs. Robinson, a homemaker, came here in 2001 from North Canton, Ohio. She enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include five sons, Doug, David and Jerry, all of Palm Coast, and Terry Massillon, Ohio, and Reed, Costa Mesa, Calif.; three sisters, Peggy Davidson, Akron, Ohio, Connie Davidson, Tippecanoe, Ohio, and Kathlyn Adamo, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Newlife Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Virginia Suitt

AUG. 7, 1942 -- AUG. 5, 2004

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Virginia Moody Suitt, 61, of Fairgreen Avenue, a director of housekeeping and hospitality at Holiday Inn Daytona Beach Shores, died Thursday at home.

Born in Basking Ridge, N.J., Mrs. Suitt came to this area in 1988 from Myrtle Beach, S.C. She formerly worked at the Boardwalk Beach Resort in Panama City. She was a member of Christ Community Church, International Housekeeping Association and was a founding member of Grand Strand Chapter of the National Housekeeping Association.

Survivors include a son, Spencer, Haleiwa, Hawaii, a daughter, Sandra Cribb, Little River, S.C.; three brothers, Richard Moody, Edgewater, William Moody, Wesley, Maine, and Robert, Holiday; and two grandchildren. Baldwin Brothers is in charge.

Dominick Telesco

OCT. 24, 1913 -- AUG. 5, 2004

DELTONA -- Dominick Telesco, 90, of Buttercup Terrace, a retired machinist for Massie Tool & Die Co., St. Petersburg, died Thursday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Mr. Telesco was born in Italy, and moved here in 1995 from St. Petersburg. He was a member of Deltona Christian Church "Disciples of Christ." He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Rose; a son, Victor, Southbury, Conn.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Marie Trainor

SEPT. 29, 1922 -- AUG. 5, 2004

DELAND -- Marie Elizabeth Trainor, 81, of West Oakdale Avenue, an insurance claims adjuster for Maryland Casualty Co., Baltimore, for 15 years, died Thursday at Alliance Community Center for Health Care.

Mrs. Trainor moved here in 1985 from Baltimore, her birthplace. She enjoyed knitting and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Owen, DeLand; a daughter, Janet Watson, Tampa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Edmund Winzinger

FEB. 17, 1911 -- AUG. 6, 2004

ORANGE CITY -- Edmund Winzinger, 93, of North Camelia Court, who retired as a wholesale plumber in Jamaica, N.Y., died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.

Mr. Winzinger was born in Jamaica, N.Y., and moved here in 1972 from Stony Brook, N.Y. He was the CEO for Fairway Plumbing Supply. Mr. Winzinger was a member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Helen; three daughters, Gail Toufectis, Hilton Head, S.C., Helen Embree, San Francisco, and Catherine Erny, Los Gatos, Calif.; a brother, Theodore, Holiday; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Hannah Cremation, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Yvette Conklin

JULY 3, 1925 -- AUG. 5, 2004

ORANGE CITY -- Yvette Marie Conklin, 79, of Grand Plaza Drive, a resident since 1979, died Thursday at Merrill Gardens Assisted Living Facility.

Mrs. Conklin, a homemaker, was born in Milwaukee, and came to this area from Petersburg, Ill. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, bowling and softball.

Survivors include two sons, Michael, Middletown, Ill., and Kevin, Boynton Beach; two daughters, Kathleen Gardner, Orange City, and Corinne DeAngelis, Spartansburg, Pa.; a brother, Johnny Massruha, Milwaukee; and eight grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Florida Hospital Memorial HospiceCare, 770 W. Granada Blvd., Suite 319, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Altman-Long, DeBary, is in charge.
