LONGWOOD -- John Albert Work, 62, of Longwood, a pool and tile sales representative in the Daytona Beach area, died Wednesday at Northside Hospital Heart Institute, St. Petersburg.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Deanna Work, Altamonte Springs, and Sara George, Indianapolis; and four grandchildren. Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Sanford, is in charge.
Diana Alvarez

PALM COAST -- Diana Alvarez, 49, of Blairsville Drive, who owned and operated Altavilla Restaurant in Bunnell, died Monday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Miss Alvarez was born in Bayshore, N.Y., and came to this area in 1987 from North Bergen, N.J. She was a member of Calvary Christian Center, Ormond Beach. She enjoyed drawing, painting and arts and crafts.
Survivors include two sons, Carmelo Pronesti, Palm Coast, and Joseph Alvarez, Renton, Wash.; her mother, Aura Alvarez, Palm Coast; four brothers, John, Palm Coast, Victor, Hoboken, N.J., Daniel, North Bergen, and James, Hastings; and three sisters, Martha Seickendick, Crossville, Tenn., Sylvia Engelhardt, Prospect Park, N.J., and Lucy Alvarez, New York City. DELAND -- Lena "Iris" Barefoot, 71, of Old Perkins Highway, a resident since 1978, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mrs. Barefoot, a homemaker, was born in Lexington, N.C., and moved here in 1978 from Tampa. She was a member of First Baptist Church, DeLeon Springs, where she served on several of its committees. She enjoyed fishing and watching sports.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Herbert; two sons, Terry Barefoot, Cape Coral, and Ronald Stewart, Leechburg, Pa.; a daughter, Patti Benson, DeLand; a brother, Robert Everhart, Advance, N.C.; a sister, Joyce Tysinger, Denton, N.C.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. PALM COAST -- Jonathan Allan Berry, 15, of Sea Spiral Path, a student at Buddy Taylor Middle School, died Monday at Halifax Medical Center from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident in March near his home.
Jonathan was born in Marietta, Ga., and lived in South Daytona before moving here in 2002. A country music fan, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes, go-karts and all-terrain vehicles.
Survivors include his parents, Allan and Elisabeth Berry, two brothers, Brandon and Matthew, and a sister, Kayley Berry, all of Palm Coast; his grandparents, Freddie and Dorothy Hinkel, Ormond Beach; his grandmother, Kathy Burns, Carrollton, Ga.; great-grandmother, Dorothy Bridges, Edgewater; and great-grandparents, Hoke and Marcella Smith, Veal, Ga. ORMOND BEACH -- Richard N. Campbell, 82, of Grizzly Bear Path, a native of Philadelphia, died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Campbell, an Army veteran, moved here in 1997 from Pennsylvania. He was a member of Tomoka United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed antique cars and boating.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Susan Del Percio, 48, of Hollywood, a Daytona Beach native, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Del Percio, a former surgical technician with Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, moved to Hollywood in 1997 from Daytona Beach. She graduated from Mainland High School and Daytona Beach Community College. Mrs. Del Percio enjoyed scuba diving, boating, travel and animals.

Mrs. Haberlan, a homemaker, was born in Lincoln, Neb., and came to this area from Orlando. She was a member of Church of the Epiphany, the Ocean Racket Club and Halifax River Yacht Club.

HOLLY HILL -- Pearl J. Hamn, 70, of Astor Street, a former school teacher, died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Hamn was born in Federalsburg, Md., and moved here in 1969 from Jacksonville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach. She enjoyed arts and crafts and teaching Sunday school.

PONCE INLET -- Jane Herr, 81, of Jennifer Circle, a native of St. Louis, died June 16 at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Ms. Herr, a homemaker, moved here in 1985 from her birthplace. She also was an artist and writer.
Survivors include two sons, David Kantrovitz, St. Louis, and Mark Kantrovitz, Festus, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Kantrovitz, St. Louis, who provided for her care. DAYTONA BEACH -- Louise R. Higgins, 96, of South Segrave Street, a former model, died Wednesday at Halifax Medical Center.
Mrs. Higgins was born in Eldorado, Ill., and moved here in 1950 from St. Louis. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed travel, ballroom dancing, piano, tennis and ice skating.

Conrad Irwin

DELAND -- Conrad John Irwin, 82, of South Hull Avenue, a journeyman electrician for a refrigeration and air conditioning company before his retirement, died Wednesday at home.
Mr. Irwin, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Evart, Mich., and moved here in 1988 from Fort Lauderdale. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Deerhaven, Veterans of Foreign Wars, DeBary, and the American Legion, Moose and Elks lodges and Disabled American Veterans, all in DeLand. Mr. Irwin enjoyed fishing, sailing and flying and was a Boy Scout leader in Fort Lauderdale.
Survivors include a son, James, DeBary; a daughter, Linda Dewahan, DeLand; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Alavon Direct Cremation, South Daytona, is in charge.

PORT ORANGE -- Donald G. Kean Jr., 60, of Linden Street, who retired from Aetna Insurance in Connecticut, died Tuesday at Hospice Care Center.
Born in Hartford, Conn., Mr. Kean, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, moved here in 2003 from Wethersfield, Conn. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church.

Mr. Lafferty, an Army veteran, was born in Runnemede, N.J., and moved to this area in 1979 from Wenonah, N.J. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles, American Legion Post 267 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3282.
