Harry Lane
DELAND -- Harry L. Lane, 81, of Circle Oaks Trail, who retired as a project manager for Bechtel Corp., died Sunday at home.
Mr. Lane, a Navy veteran of World War II serving as an engineering officer, was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved to this area in 1997 from Vero Beach. He also worked as an engineer for West Virginia Electric Co., Fairmont, W.Va. He earned a degree from Texas A&M.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jerome "Jerry"; and a son, David, DeLand. Memorial donations may be made to the Duvall Home, P.O. Box 220036, Glenwood, FL 32722. Tri-County Cremation Service, Longwood, is in charge.

Helen Maloney
DELTONA -- Helen Theresa Maloney, 85, of LaFoy Court, an 18-year resident, died Monday at Deltona Health Care.
Mrs. Maloney, a homemaker, was born in Youngstown, Ohio. She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Jr., Pensacola, and Jack, Seattle; two daughters, Cheri Wallace, Deltona, and Nancy Massie, Freeport, Ill.; a brother, Ray Marguard, Fontaine, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Axiotes, Bradenton, and Doris Rogers, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Eileen Morris
DELAND -- Eileen Morris, 87, of Foxfire Lane, a resident since 1998, died Monday at Lake Eustis Nursing Home, Eustis.
Mrs. Morris, a homemaker, was born in Ramona, S.D., and moved here from Missouri.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Morris, DeLand, and Richard Morris, Arkansas; and a sister, Fern Bonhart, St. Louis. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Howard Norton Jr.
DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- Howard S. Norton Jr., 76, of Oceans West Boulevard, a resident since 1992, died Tuesday at home.
Mr. Norton came here from his birthplace, Baltimore. He was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and the Port Orange Model Ship Builders Organization.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth; a son, William, Maryland; a daughter, Regina Plocek, Charlottesville, Va.; and two grandchildren. Baggett & Summers, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Adeline Richards
PORT ORANGE -- Adeline M. Richards, 64, of Devon Street, a resident since 1987, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Richards, a homemaker, came here from her native Cincinnati.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Kline, and a daughter, Lisa Pascarella, both of Port Orange; three brothers, Robert Davis and Dan Kline, both of Port Orange, and Ray Davis, Cincinnati; a sister, Violet Lucas, Cincinnati; and five grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 555 W. Granada Blvd., Suite A-1, Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Caroline Ross
SOUTH DAYTONA -- Caroline Ross, 82, of Hickory Wood Drive, a 15-year resident, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Ross, a homemaker, came here from her native Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Daytona Beach. She enjoyed bingo and karaoke.
Survivors include a son, John, South Daytona; a brother, Carmine Fronduto, Paterson, N.J.; a sister, Olympia Marchese, Brooklyn; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Baggett & Summers, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Marie Ross
PALM COAST -- Marie K. Ross, 58, of Blakemore Drive, who was born in Bridgeport, Conn., died Monday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Mrs. Ross, a homemaker, moved to Palm Coast in 1995. She enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; a son, Michael Rabasco, Bloomingdale, Minn.; a brother, Lawrence Frederick, Danbury, Conn.; and a sister, Susan Frederick, Westport, Conn. Watts Funeral Home, San Mateo, is in charge.

James Rossin
DAYTONA BEACH -- James Rossin, 87, of Stocking Street, a retired gardener, died Saturday at Halifax Medical Center.
Mr. Rossin moved to this area in 1956 from his native Lake City. He was a member of the Providence Metropolitan Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacons and trustees boards and was a past president of the ushers board. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Rossie; five sons, Jonathan, Allen, Marvin and Bobbye, all of Daytona Beach, and Ray, Lake City; six daughters, Genoma, Janice, Carolyn, Martha, Linda and Patricia, all of Daytona Beach, and Joann Gaines, Lake City; three bothers, Allen Jr., Willard and Alexander, all of Lake City; a sister, Eunice Miller, Miami; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Gainous is in charge.

Melvin Ryan
DELAND -- Melvin J. Ryan, 67, of Leaf Circle, who retired in 1990 as the purchasing manager of General Dynamics in Fraser, Mich., died Monday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Born in Detroit, Mr. Ryan came here in 1990 from Fraser. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carolyn; a son, Mark, DeLand; two daughters, Lori Knight, DeLand, and Pamela Beasejour, Port Orange; a sister, Joan Cavanaugh, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Charles Tolson
DAYTONA BEACH -- Charles Warren Tolson, 58, of Wallace Drive, a resident since 1977, died Sunday at Halifax Medical Center.
Mr. Tolson, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in Wolf County, Ky., and came here from Cincinnati. He was a commercial fisherman.
Survivors include three brothers, Robert Tolson, Warsaw, Ky., Richard Tolson, Florence, Ky., and Eugene Hollan, Verona, Ky. New Life Cremation, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Rupert Trott
DELAND -- Rupert E. Trott, 67, of Bent Oaks Boulevard, a self-employed custom floor craftsman, died Saturday at home.
Mr. Trott came here in 1993 from his birthplace, Bermuda.
Survivors include a son, Gregory, Warwick, Bermuda; a brother, Henry, DeLand; and a grandchild. Lankford, DeLand, is in charge.

Jean Vaskovich
PORT ORANGE -- Jean Vaskovich, 86, of West Piedmont Avenue, a native of Schenectady, N.Y., died Monday at home.
Mrs. Vaskovich was a press operator of a print shop in Plantation, Fla. She moved to this area in 1990 from Plantation. She was a member of United Church of God, Deltona.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Gaskin, Port Orange; two brothers, William, Daytona Beach, and Richard Hatch, College Park, Ga.; a sister, Martha Shank, Moulena, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

Ronald Adkins
SANFORD -- Ronald Wayne Adkins, 34, of Randolph Street, brother of Tammie Hollifield, Deltona, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Orlando after a long illness.
Mr. Adkins, a forklift operator, was born in Cape Canaveral and moved to the Sanford area 12 years ago. He enjoyed the beach, fishing and fixing things.
Additional survivors include a son, Ernie, and his mother, Wanda Adkins, both of Sanford; and two brothers, Richard Smith, Florida, and Shannon Smith, Texas. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

William Adkins
PORT ORANGE -- William E. Adkins, 86, of South Peninsula Drive, a retired coal miner, died Sunday at home.
Mr. Adkins was born in Dunlow, W.Va., and came here in 1974 from Logan, W.Va.
Survivors include three sons, Bill, Tampa, Gerald, Cattlesburg, Ky., and Gary, Kenova, W.Va.; two daughters, Neltha Gibson, Tampa, and Brookie Donahue, Hurricane, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Patricia Joyner, Port Orange. Shannon is in charge.

Matilee Andrews
DELTONA -- Matilee Garland Andrews, 82, of West Hancock Drive, a senior accounting clerk for Seminole County until retiring after 17 years of service, died Saturday at the home of her sister in DeBary.
Mrs. Andrews, a Women's Army Corps veteran of World War II, was born in Johnson City, Tenn. She moved here in 1972 from Potomac, Md. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Deltona. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, baking and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, David; two sons, David Jr., Deltona, and John, Orlando; two daughters, Linda Burton, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Pam Pinion, Auburn, Ga.; two sisters, Kate Cooper, DeBary, and Grace Johnston, Lynchburg, Va.; and four grandchildren. Deltona Memorial, Orange City, is in charge.

Florence Bell
DEBARY -- Florence Martha Bell, 99, of Highbanks Road, who was born in Washington County, Ohio, died Monday at home.
Mrs. Bell, a homemaker, came here in 1972 from Zanesville, Ohio. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Osteen and the Welcome Wagon of Deltona.
Survivors include a son, William, DeBary; a daughter, Faith Barton, Lima, Ohio; a brother, James Flowers, Washington County, Ohio; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Baldauff, Orange City, is in charge.

Thomas Callahan
PROSPECT, Pa. -- Thomas W. "Turbo Tom" Callahan, 72, of Prospect, the father of James Callahan, Daytona Beach, died Saturday at a hospital in Prospect.
Mr. Callahan, an Air Force veteran, was born in Butler, Pa. A frequent winter visitor to the Daytona Beach area, he was a retired truck driver and garage owner.
Additional survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rose; a son, Thomas Jr., Hubbard, Ohio; two daughters, Judith Callahan, Grove City, Pa., and JoAnne DeCola, Butler; and four grandchildren. Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, Prospect, is in charge.
