Byron Underwood
ORMOND BEACH - Byron V. Underwood, 89, of North Beach Street, a former executive vice president of Associated Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Daytona Beach, died Monday at home.
Mr. Underwood, a native of Terre Haute, Ind., moved to this area in 1951 from Syracuse, N.Y. He was formerly on the board of directors for New York and Augusta Coca-Cola Bottling Co. He was a member of Oceanside Country Club and the Halifax River Yacht Club. He enjoyed golf and playing bridge.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jean; two sons, Gary, Riverton, Wyo., and Bob, Windermere; two brothers, Marion, Terre Haute, and Robert, Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and six grandchildren. Haigh-Black, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

James Wallr
ORMOND BEACH - James Ebren Waller, 56, of South Ridgewood Avenue, a Marine Corps veteran, died Wednesday at Bowman's Healthcare Center.
Mr. Waller was born in Portland, Ore., and moved here in 1986 from Newport News, Va. He enjoyed dancing, motorcycles and Mustang cars.
Survivors include a son, Nathan, Chesapeake, Va.; his mother, Janie Waller, Holly Hill; and three sisters, Janie Witham, Springfield, Vt., Julia Dunning, Holly Hill, and Anna D'Entremont, Ormond Beach. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association of Volusia/Flagler, 555 W. Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach 32174. Dale Woodward, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Marlene Wangenstein
DELTONA - Marlene C. Wangenstein, 63, of Trafalgar Street, a native of Providence, R.I., died Wednesday at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City.
Mrs. Wangenstein, a homemaker, came here in 1987 from Warwick, R.I. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Deltona. She hand painted custom jewelry for 36 years.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; a son, Danny Arsenault, Orlando; two daughters, Victoria Becker, New York City, and Patricia Wangenstein, Cranston, R.I.; and a sister, Rosemary Moylan, Providence. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 549, Daytona Beach 32115. Altman-Long Funeral Home, DeBary, is in charge.

John Werneken
SOUTH DAYTONA - John Joseph Werneken, 78, of South Ridgewood Avenue, a retired postal carrier, died Wednesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Werneken, a Navy veteran of World War II, moved to this area in 1940 from his native Brooklyn, N.Y. He enjoyed dog racing.
Survivors include a niece, Joan Gargiso, Wantaugh, N.Y., who provided for his care. Dale Woodward, Holly Hill, is in charge.

Joyce Zamorsky
DELAND - Joyce E. Zamorsky, 81, of North McDonald Avenue, a retired administrative assistant for Florida Concrete & Products Association, died Sunday at an area care facility.
Mrs. Zamorsky was born in Stillwater, Minn., and came here in 1984 from Winter Park.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Thoele, Denver. Lankford is in charge.

William Walsh III
EDGEWATER - William Edward Patrick Walsh III, 55, of Royal Palm Drive, a former clerical worker for an elevator company, died Tuesday at home.
Mr. Walsh was born in Manhattan, N.Y., and came here in 1985 from Staten Island, N.Y. He enjoyed collecting music.
Survivors include a daughter, Bridget Walsh, Queens, N.Y.; his mother, Annette Walsh, Staten Island; a brother, Richard, Manhattan; three sisters, Marian, New Jersey, Betsy, New York, and Barbara, Staten Island; and his companion, Sue Cooper, Edgewater. Volusia County Cremation, Daytona Beach, is in charge.

James Warren
DELTONA - James A. Warren, 80, of Duncan Street, a maintenance supervisor for the City of Miami Beach for 26 years before his retirement, died Thursday at home.
Mr. Warren, a Coast Guard veteran of World War II, was born in Miami and moved to this area in 1973 from his birthplace. He enjoyed fishing and boating.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marion; a son, Buddy, Ocala; two daughters, Karen Mauras and Deborah Richards, both of Deltona; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the James A. Warren Memorial Fund, c/o St. Jude's Episcopal Church, 815 E. Graves Ave., Orange City 32763. Bauldauff is in charge.

Josephine Caruso
NEW SMYRNA BEACH - Josephine Caruso, 102, of Trudgeon Avenue, a resident since 1996, died Friday at home.
Mrs. Caruso, a homemaker, was born in Italy and moved to this area from Kenmore, N.Y. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Kenmore Mercy Hospital Guild, and she was a volunteer at the Kenmore Mercy Hospital for 30 years.
Survivors include a son, Albert, Tonawanda, N.Y.; two daughters, B. Jane Kulak, Daytona Beach, and Rae Meier, Clinton, Iowa; a sister, Helen Argen, Williamsville, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Dudley, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Cathy Conyers
DAYTONA BEACH - Cathy L. Conyers, 41, of Bethune Village, a former custodian and dietitian at several local nursing homes, died Sunday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Ms. Conyers was born in Daytona Beach, and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Church of Christ.
Survivors include a brother, Larry Parks, Daytona Beach; three sisters, Patricia Conyers and Mary Sullivan, Fort Myers, and Rutha Woods, Boston, Mass.; and her godparents, Andrew and Gloria Byron, who provided for her care. Herbert-Thompson is in charge.

Delois Goodrum
DAYTONA BEACH - Delois Parker Goodrum, 76, of Maple Street, a former housekeeper for private families, died Saturday at her place of employment on Seabreeze Boulevard, Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Goodrum moved to this area in 1939 from her birthplace, Lake City. She was a member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church, where she was a member of the usher board #2. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Valetta Butler, Daytona Beach; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Gainous is in charge.

James Holcomb
PORT ORANGE - James Sherman Holcomb, 79, of Madeline Avenue, a former owner of Jim's TV Sales and Service, Southshore, Ky., died Sunday at home.
Mr. Holcomb, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, was born in Firebrick, Ky., and moved to this area in 1992 from Portsmouth, Ohio. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, DeLand, Masonic Lodge, Veterans of the Foreign Wars, and he was a past president of the Disabled American Veteran's.
Survivors include four sons, James Holcomb Jr., Southshore, Rick Ruby, Columbus, Ohio, Mark Pyle, Olive Hill, Ky., and Steven Pyle, DeLand; three daughters, Marcella Masonbacher and Michelle Sowards, both of Columbus, and Melinda Timmer, Port Orange; a brother, William, Baltimore, Md.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia /Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32119. Volusia Memorial, Port Orange, is in charge.

Catharine Kahler
PORT ORANGE - Catharine G. Kahler, 82, of Sugar House Court, a native of Philadelphia, died Thursday at Atlantic Medical Center-Daytona Beach.
Mrs. Kahler, a homemaker, moved here in 1978 from Feasterville, Pa. Memberships included: Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, Port Orange; Order of Eastern Star Chapter 428, Somerton, Pa., and the American and East Central Florida American Ex-Prisoners of War associations.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John; a son, John Jr., Philadelphia; a daughter, Kathleen Mecs, Chesnee, S.C.; a brother, Leroy Goerlich, Philadelphia; a sister, Maria Van Horn, Lawton, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Bible Society, 1865 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10023. Cardwell & Maloney is in charge.

James Bohannon
DAYTONA BEACH -- James Donald Bohannon, 63, of Carol Lee Street, who retired from Teco Gas Co., died Thursday at home.
Mr. Bohannon moved to this area in 1956 from his native Conway, Mo. He enjoyed sports, card games and collecting trains.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mikel; a son, Jimmy, Holly Hill; three daughters, Loretta Brinkley, Bunnell, Cindy Griffin, Ocala, and Rosetta Sapp, Blackshear, Ga.; his mother, Ida Roberts, and a brother, Rigdon Roberts, both of Satsuma; a sister, Jane Terry, Modesto, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Volusia Memorial, Ormond Beach, is in charge.

Elsie Camisa
BERKELEY, Calif. -- Elsie D. Camisa, 93, a former 10-year resident of Daytona Beach, died Oct. 3 at Berkeley Pines Care Center.
Mrs. Camisa, a former high school teacher in Jersey City, N.J., was born in New Jersey. She earned a master's degree from New York University. She was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Danville, and enjoyed painting, needlepoint and knitting.
Survivors include a son, John; a daughter, Ellen Nelson; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel, Walnut Creek, Calif., is in charge.

Ronald Fisher Jr.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Ronald I. Fisher Jr., 43, of Rasley Road, an investigator with World Security Inc., died Wednesday at home.
Born in Rochester, N.Y., Mr. Fisher moved to this area in 1972 from Atlanta. He was a former sergeant with the New Smyrna Beach Police Department and also worked as an international body guard. He was a former manager of health clubs in Georgia, Florida and Tennessee, and he was a former football player for North Alabama College. He attended Christ Community Church of New Smyrna Beach. He enjoyed scuba diving.
Survivors include a daughter, Annette Fisher; his parents, Ronald and Kathleen, New Smyrna Beach; a brother, Patrick, Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Ann Waites and Karen Looman, both of New Smyrna Beach; and his grandparents, Mildred and Wallace Trickey, Edgewater. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

David Huckins
PORT ORANGE -- David T. "Buddy" Huckins, 55, of Sandpebble Circle, a cook at Dustin's Barbecue and former owner of Huckins Spray Service, Miami, died Wednesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Huckins, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in North Carolina. He moved to this area in 1994 from Miami. He was a member of Amvets Post 911, the American Legion Post 361, South Daytona, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 4401, Daytona Beach.
Survivors include a son, David Jr., Miami; two brothers, Donald, Daytona Beach, and Vincent Jr., Naples; a sister, Valerie Frederick, Palatka; and his companion, Patty Grant, Port Orange. Cardwell & Maloney is in charge.
