ORMOND BEACH -- Merle G. Altman, 82, of Collins Street, a former Wal-Mart employee, died Tuesday at home.
Mrs. Altman moved to this area in 1954 from her native Jacksonville. During World War II, she worked on ships in Jacksonville. She was a member of Fort Caroline United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, Disabled American Veterans, and the Eagles and Moose lodges. She enjoyed bingo.
Survivors include a son, Richard, Astor; three daughters, Linda Sypian, Ormond Beach, Ruth Mathabel, Hinesville, Ga., and Darlene Osborne, Libertyville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. ORMOND BEACH -- Mike Atamanec, 84, of Clyde Morris Boulevard, who retired from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union in Ohio, died Tuesday at Halifax Convalescent Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Atamanec, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Cleveland and came here in 1976 from Parma, Ohio. He also worked for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach.

DAYTONA BEACH -- Clarence Eady Jr., 70, of Tomoka Road, a retired mosquito control employee, died Wednesday at home.
Mr. Eady, an Army veteran of World War II, moved here in 1942 from his birthplace, Willacoochee, Ga. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed repairing bicycles.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary; two sons, Clarence III and Wayman, both of Decatur, Ga.; two daughters, Karen Eady, Daytona Beach, and Felezia Goodwin, Tallahassee; two brothers, Wilson Eady, Daytona Beach, and Richard Oliver, Miami; three sisters, Evelyn Pettway, Daytona Beach, Annie Denson, Augusta, Ga., and Mary Cooper, Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. DELTONA -- Claudia Joan Erickson, 72, of Coronado Terrace, who was self-employed in real estate sales, died Tuesday at home.
Mrs. Erickson was born in Nashville, Tenn., and came to this area in 1987 from Fort Lauderdale.

PALM COAST -- Helen Grybowicz, 85, of Becker Lane, who retired in 1981 from Atlantic Tool Machine in Newington, Conn., died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Flagler.
Mrs. Grybowicz was born in Hartford, Conn., and came here in 1989 from Windsor, Conn. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing.

FLAGLER BEACH -- Paul Edward Husk, 55, of Osprey Lane, a retired employee of the Akron Institute, died Monday at home.
Mr. Husk, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, was born in Akron, Ohio. He moved here in 1998 from Mogadore, Ohio. He was a member of the Daytona BMW Club and the American Motorcyclist Association and was a past vice president of the Bulow Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed boating.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- George Thomas Marsh, 53, of Crawford Road, a self-employed gardener and handyman, died Sunday at home.
Mr. Marsh, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War who received the Purple Heart, was born in Fort Myers. He moved to this area in 1983 from Winter Garden.

DELAND -- Deloris L. Mayfield, 61, of North Kentucky Avenue, a retired in-home child care provider, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-DeLand.
Mrs. Mayfield, a DeLand native, was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses-West Congregation. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.

Mr. Nunez, an Army veteran of World War II, was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He moved to this area in 1999 from Land O'Lakes. He also served in the National Guard. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Daytona Beach. He enjoyed reading.

DELAND -- Larry Ray "Diesel Don" Pinkston, 55, of Old Daytona Road, a truck driver for East Coast Concrete, Bunnell, died Saturday in Bunnell from injuries sustained in a work truck accident in Bunnell.
Born in Oil City, Pa., Mr. Pinkston moved here in 1974 from Union City, Pa. He enjoyed gardening, especially roses.

SOUTH DAYTONA -- Edna V. Reynolds, 78, of Magnolia Avenue, a former 30-year lace winder for Native Textile Mills, Glens Falls, N.Y., died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Reynolds came here in 1996 from Hudson Falls, N.Y. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ladies of Harley, N.Y.

ORMOND BEACH -- Judith Anne Stanton, 62, of South Ridgewood Avenue, a member of Ormond Beach Alliance Church, died Tuesday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Mrs. Stanton, a homemaker, was born in Daytona Beach and was a lifelong area resident.

ORANGE CITY -- Georgia E. Stump, 82, of Water Oaks Circle, a retired bookkeeper for Florida Gas, DeLand, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.
Born in Paris, Ky., Mrs. Stump came here in 1957 from Cynthiana, Ky. A painter, she was a member of a local artists' association.

DAYTONA BEACH -- Peter F. Urka, 79, of Aleatha Drive, who retired in 1979 after 20 years with the Naval Oceanographic Office, Picayune, Miss., died Tuesday at home.
Mr. Urka, an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II who achieved the rank of sergeant, was born in Pittston, Pa. He moved here in 1990 from Tallahassee. He attended Penn State University and also worked for the Department of Natural Resources. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange.

Mr. Whitesell, an Army veteran, was born in Loyalhanna Township, Pa., and moved to Flagler Beach in 1991 from New Smyrna Beach. He attended Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, Daytona Beach Shores. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, dancing and stock car racing.
