Sue G. Roberson, 82, Inverness, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

Mrs. Roberson was born July 9, 1921, in McCall, S.C., to Howard and Delightal Grice.

She was an administrative assistant for the U.S. Government. She was Methodist.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert Roberson of Inverness; daughter, Pamela McKinney of Inverness; two brothers, James Grice of Charlotte, N.C., and Robert Grice of Carolina Beach, N.C.; one sister, Colleen Lowder of Charlotte, N.C.; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Gordon Weaver, 70 Dunnellon

Gordon Victor Weaver, 70, Dunnellon, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at home under the care of his family and Citrus County Hospice.

Born in Johnson City, N.Y., he moved to Spring Hill 21 years ago from Nashua, N.H., and to Dunnellon in March 2002.

He retired as Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy in 1970. He was a real estate broker-associate until retiring in 2002.

He was a life member of the USS Boston Shipmates Association, a member of Branch 186, Fleet Reserve Association and of VFW Post 4864. He belonged to Brotherhood Lodge 375, F&AM; in Spring Hill and Dunnellon Lodge 136, F&AM.;

Survivors include his wife, Janice M.; four daughters, Sharon Brandt and Deborah Hagerman of Binghamton, N.Y., June Jewell and Marie Rausch of Homosassa; a sister, Carol Munro of Dunnellon; a brother, George Weaver of Sacramento, Calif.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Zoraida Bernal, 94 Dunnellon

Zoraida Bernal, 94, Dunnellon, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Sunshine Gardens of Dunnellon.

A native of Cuba, she was born on Oct. 4, 1909, to Adolfo and Jaquina Villa. She came to Inverness in 1975 with her husband Iluminado. She moved to Dunnellon three years ago.

She was a retired clothing seamstress.

Mrs. Bernal was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo and Jaquina Villa; and her husband, Iluminado, in 1994.

Survivors include one son, John Bernal and his wife Dolores of Dunnellon; one daughter, Theresa Toner of South Farmingdale, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Patrick 'Pat' Higgins, 68 Homosassa

Patrick Thomas "Pat" Higgins, 68, Homosassa, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at his residence under the care of his family and Hospice.

He was born Dec. 19, 1935, to Eugene Higgins and Laverne Bouvat Wendorf, and moved to Homosassa 25 years ago from Dallas.

He was a retired electronics manager for Wal-Mart of Homosassa.

Mr. Higgins was Catholic.

Survivors include five daughters, Pamela Diaz, Terri Switzer and Toni Higgins, all of Milwaukee, Wis., Debra Anderson of Dallas, Texas, and Michelle Andrews of St. Cloud; one brother, Michelle Wendorf of Oshkosh, Wis.; one sister, Kathleen Bourbon of Homosassa; and eight grandchildren.

Marion Pritchard, 82 Floral City

Marion Graham Pritchard, 82, Floral City, died Monday, December 22, 2003, at his son's home.

He was born in St Paul, S.C., Oct. 11, 1921, to Harry McLemore and Eunice Barwick Pritchard.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a section chief management analyst with the Air Force Systems Command at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Md.

He was a member of the Lions Club of Calvert County, Md., and Floral City. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Floral City United Methodist Church. He was a Mason. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, golf, reading, music and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lal Hiers Pritchard.

Survivors include a son, Marion Graham Pritchard, Galway, N.Y.; a daughter, Mary Linda Greene and her husband, John, of Annapolis, Md.; four sisters, Lucille Harden and Ernestine Lisk, both of Manning, S.C., Ann Brown of Sumter, S.C., and Sandra Stokes of Summerton, S.C.; a brother, Thomas Davis Pritchard of Baltimore, Md.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in Florida at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Galway Lions Club Inc., P.O. Box 244 Galway, NY 12074 for its sight and hearing programs.

Gerry Marlene Hughes, 65, Dunnellon, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in Dunnellon.

Born March 26, 1938, in Miami to William and Janee McClellan, she came here from Port St. Lucie in 1997.

She was a secretary in the audio visual industry.

She attended the First Baptist Church of Dunnellon.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Michelle) Lowry of Miami, and Richard (Cindy) Lowry of Margate; mother, Janee Murphy McClellan of Dunnellon; sister, Sandra (Tom) Hamilton; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Antoinette C. Johnson, 87, Citrus Springs, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in Lecanto.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here from Patchogue, N.Y., more than a year ago.

She was retired from J.C. Penney after 20 years as a data processor in New York City.

She was a Christian.

She was a former member of the Venice East Golf Club. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and reading.

Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Edward W. Johnson, April 15, 2003; brother Raymond Goodwin; and sister Dorothy Deller.

Survivors include two sons, Will L. (Joyce) Johnson of Citrus Springs, and Larry V. (Denise) Johnson of Patchogue, N.Y.; four brothers, Edward Goodwin of Merrick, N.Y., Robert Goodwin of Lake George, N.Y., George Goodwin of Colorado, and Howard Goodwin of Mastic Beach, N.Y.; two sisters, Eleanor Nelson and Helen Dowd, both of Lake George, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mitchell Maddox Sr., 89 Bushnell

Mitchell P. Maddox Sr., 89, Bushnell, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, in Lecanto.

Born in Beaver Dam, Ky., he came here from Sarasota in 2000.

He was an ordained minister. He served in churches in Texas, Georgia and Florida as an educational director. He was a director of missions in Florida.

He was Baptist, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sarasota.

He enjoyed carpentry work and working with people. He enjoyed being with his family.

Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel H. Maddox on July 13, 2002; and a brother, Coleman Maddox.

Survivors include three sons, Mitchell P. Maddox Jr. and wife Kaye of Panama City, Joseph K. Maddox and wife Karen of Bushnell, and William E. Maddox and wife Nora of Sarasota; brother, James Maddox of Frankfort, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

Michelle Mae Whitford, 33, Inglis, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 in Inglis.

Born in Titusville, she came here from Hudson in 1999.

She was a homemaker.

She was involved with a fund-raiser for Scooter Haven.

Survivors include her mother, Marlyn Ellsberry of Inglis; father, Prather Ellsberry of Inglis; daughter, Shanda Mae Trammell of Hudson; grandmother, Elizabeth Ellsberry of Chillicothe, Mo.; brother, John Whitford of Homosassa; two step-brothers, Kevin Ellsberry of San Francisco, and Joe Barrow of New Port Richey; three sisters, Martyn Davenport of Inglis, Marlyne Mayberry of New Port Richey, and Marcella Whitford of New Port Richey; and two step-sisters, Lisa Ellsberry of St. Louis, Mo., and Linda Barrow of New Port Richey.

Born July 8, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Harriett Yore, he came here from Buffalo, N.Y., in 1983.

He was a supervisor for 38 years with Western Electric & ATT, Buffalo, N.Y.

He attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa.

He wa a member of BPOE 2693, Homosassa; past president of Telephone Pioneers of Western New York and Spring Hill chapters; and the Sugarmill Woods Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Virginia Yore of Homosassa; two sons, Charles P. (Nancy) Yore, and Lawrence Michael Yore, all of Grand Island, N.Y.; two daughters, Margaret Konar of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Patricia (Lee) Paine of Auburn, Ga.; sister, Mary Ganser of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
