Valerie S. Wendrycki, 86, of Dunnellon
Valerie S. Wendrycki, of Dunnellon, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. She was born Dec. 22, 1916 in Bayonne, N.J., to Joseph Sczesny and Mary Sczesny (Polonka) and moved to Dunnellon 21 years ago from East Meadow, L.I., N.Y. She was 86.
Mrs. Wendrycki was a lifelong homemaker and a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon.
Survivors include sister-in-law Heddy Selowentchich of Dunnellon and sister-in-law Helen Sczesny of Long Island, N.Y.; and 11 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, the late Henry M. Wendrycki, on Feb. 22, 1991.

Leona Una Everest Barth, 87, Oregon, Ill., a visitor to this area, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River.
She was born May 12, 1916, in Sand Lake, Mich., to Milo and Pearl (Parker) Smith.
She was a homemaker and member of the Women of the Moose and the VFW Auxiliary, both of Mt. Morris.
She attended Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Crystal River.
Survivors include two sons, Ted Everest of Homosassa, and Clarence Everest of Rochelle, Ill.; two daughters, Nancy Blume of Homosassa, and Gloria Patterson of Oregon, Ill; sister, Winnie Argetsinger of San Diego, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Hermina Victoria Breton, 99, Inverness, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 22, 1904, in Chicopee, Mass., to Charles and Victoria (Gervais) Lamotte, she moved here in 2000.
Mrs. Breton was a homemaker and she was Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leger A. Breton, in 1974.
Survivors include one son, Robert A. (Vincenza) Breton of Lady Lake; one daughter, Doris (Donald) Daigle of Inverness; and four grandchildren, Dr. Susan Breton of New York, N.Y., Linda Breton of Daytona Beach, David R. Daigle of Beverly Hills, Calif., and Daniel G. Daigle of East Hampton, Mass.

Wilma Lee (Abshire) Fields, 79, Beverly Hills, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at her home.
She was born in Stone, Ky., to Harvey W. and Anna C. (Justice) Abshire.
She married
Arnold Fields Jr. on May 1, 1943, in Pike County, Kentucky.
Mrs. Fields and her husband moved to Homestead in 1951, where they owned and operated Fields Standard Service in Cutler Ridge, then to Lecanto in 1979, where they rented out five trailers for many years. They moved to Beverly Hills in March 2003.
Mrs. Fields enjoyed crocheting, cooking and taking care of her family.
She was a member of Church of Christ of Lecanto.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruby; and brothers, Wyatt and John.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Arnold Fields Jr. of Beverly Hills; one son, Thomas Fields and wife, Sharon, of Homestead; granddaughters, Rebecca Murdock and husband, John, of Lecanto and Deborah Holt and husband, Brian, of Louisiana; grandson, John Fields and wife, Jill, of Miami; and five great-grandchildren.

Ethel Sophie Jones, 79, Floral City, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Sophie (Trojka) Kotapis, she moved here in 1978 from Hawaii.
Mrs. Jones retired from the retail sales industry as a department store sales representative.
Her memberships included the First Church of God of Inverness, life member of the Floral City VFW Post 7122 Auxiliary and Fleet Reserve Association Ladies Auxiliary, Citrus Unit 186.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Jones, June 23, 1998.
Survivors include her son, Duane T. (Mitzi) Jones of Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Sharon (William) Ferguson of Floral City; six grandchildren, Scott Cinco, Jennifer Jones, Nicholas Ferguson, Chad Jones, Dr. Clay Jones and Amy Jones; and several great-grandchildren.

Paul Leroy Ludy, 72, Inglis, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at his home.
Born May 4, 1931, in Pottstown, Pa., to Paul and Irene (Gerhart) Ludy, he moved here from Boyertown, Pa., in 1989.
Mr. Ludy was a retired truck driver for an oil company and a former pro-baseball player.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was Lutheran.

Winston "Hoss" Oatsvall, 64, Crystal River, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.
Born Dec. 10, 1939, in Kaiser, Ark., to Arthur and Ellie (Bowles) Oats-vall, he moved here 35 years ago from LaPanto, Ark.
A master electrician he owned and operated the Hoss Electric Company for 33 years in Crystal River. He was a member of the Electricians Council of America.
Mr. Oatsvall was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne and he was a member of the American Legion Post 155, Crystal River.
He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Oatsvall of Crystal River; two sons, Arthur Oatsvall of Jacksonville and Winston Oatsvall II of Osceola; two stepsons, Robert Muster of Homosassa and Billy Thorpe of Crystal River; one stepdaughter, Jo Conner of Deltona; two sisters, Sadie Foote of LaPanto, Ark., and Louise Kemp of El Centro, Calif.; and two grandsons, Philip Wade Oatsvall, U.S. Navy, and Ronnie Sharp of Jacksonville.

Kathryn L. Sherman, 72, Homosassa, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River.
Born April 20, 1931, in Escanaba, Mich., to Leslie Bud and Bertha (Couiliard) Hamilton, she moved to this area five years ago from Palm Harbor.
After graduating from high school she attended Dental Nurses School in Chicago and in later years she was the office manager at Sherman Chiropractic.
She was a member of the Crystal River Woman's Club and she enjoyed gardening.
She was the wife of 22 years of Dr. John Sherman, Homosassa.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Eldridge (Beth Ann) of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Randy Eldridge (Dorothy) of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Barbara Richards of Troy, Mich.; three grandchildren; and two nieces.
