Ralph D. Collins, 68, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, in Inverness. Mr. Collins was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and moved here in 1980 from Miami.
Mr. Collins was a retired foreman.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Tony Collins of Inverness and Dustin Collins of Dunnellon; two daughters, Donna Collins of Inverness and Fancee Harrison of Hernando; sisters, Rita Hearon of Belleview and Margaret Lee of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Thelma 'Dollie' Phelps, 75
Thelma E. "Dollie" Phelps, 75, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Munroe Medical Center in Ocala. Born Dec. 25, 1927, in Lecanto to Sumner G. and Irene (Johns) Beville, she has been a lifelong resident of this area.
Mrs. Phelps was a retired convenience store clerk at Circle K in Inglis. Her hobbies included sewing, reading and watching softball games. She was a member of the Yankeetown Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Phelps, in 1985.
Survivors include three daughters, Rendy Young (Larry) of Ocklawaha, Carol Boatwright (Cleve) of Dunnellon and Maytle Dutton (Vic) of Ocala; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Gertrude M. Power, 97, of Dunnellon, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003 in Dunnellon. A native of Manchester, N.H., she moved here four and a half years ago from Holiday, where she had lived for 30 years.
Mrs. Power was a homemaker all of her life and was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James F. Power Jr., Aug. 9, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Marguerite MacLeod and husband, William, of Dunnellon, and Helene Williams and husband, Roland, also of Dunnellon; sister, Marcella M. Hughes of Hingham, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Perry Leander Pitts, 82, of Clermont, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, in Clermont. He was born in Laurens, S.C. He moved from Zephyrhills to the Grove-land/Clermont area in 1965.
Mr. Pitts was the former owner of Citrus Harvesting. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Shirley of Clermont; three daughters, Carolyn Ann Potter of Groveland, Kim Pitts of Clermont and Patsy Leek of Inglis; son, Danny Eiland of Citrus Springs; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Janice C. Telfer, 72, of Beverly Hills, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, in Crystal River. Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Morris, Ill., to Edwin and Emma H. (Wiegand) Classen, she moved here from Jefferson City, Mo., eight years ago.
Mrs. Telfer was a homemaker, a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church of Citrus Springs, WELCA, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary, St. Martin, Mo. She dedicated her life to God, her husband and family.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Alexander R. Telfer of Beverly Hills; son, John Telfer and wife, Sherry, of Camdenton, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Klegman and husband, William, of Coal City, Ill., and Sally Modica and husband, Jeff, of Strafford, Mo.; brother, Ronald Classen and wife, Marcia, of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Gene Telfer and wife, Peggy, of Hernando; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Susana M. Umanos, 78, of Hernando, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003. A native of Agoo, La Union, Philippines, she moved to Hernando in 1990 from Lavonia, Mich.
Mrs. Umanos was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her husband, Romeo O.; sons, Henry A. Umanos of Lake Orion, Mich., and E.J. Umanos of Chicago; brother, Ricardo Mamuyac of Detroit, Mich.; sister, Felicidas Mamuyac of Agoo, La Union; and four grandchildren.

Harold E. Brawner, of Ocala, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at his residence. A native of Cartersville, Ga., he resided in the Ocala area since 1998, formerly of Cartersville. He was 61.
Mr. Brawner was a maintenance laborer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Brawner Sr. in 1980; daughter, Dodie Lynn Brawner in 1960, and a sister, Jo Ann Brawner in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of three years, Rosemarie of Ocala; two sons, Wayne Brawner of Atlanta, Ga. and Harold Brawner of Cartersville, Ga.; mother, Jessie Mae Butler of Cartersville; brother, Robert Lee Brawner Jr. of Cartersville; two sisters, Minnie Fann and Mamie Casey, both of Cartersville; and four grandchildren.

Clifford W. Brothers, of Pine Run, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. A native of Norfolk, N.Y., he resided in the Ocala area since 1989, formerly of Massena, N.Y. He was 67.
Mr. Brothers was a retired laborer at Reynolds Aluminum. He was in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, and enjoyed bowling, golfing and harness racing.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Brothers in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; mother, Ruth Jenne of Canton, N.Y.; three daughters, Cheryl Brothers of Vero Beach, Ellen Parker of Archer and Michele Brothers of Gainesville; two sons, Daniel Brothers of Escondido, Calif., and Thomas Brothers of Fort Pierce; two sisters, Joan Major of Ocala and Joyce Page of Massena, N.Y.; two brothers, Clyde Brothers of Green Valley, Ariz., and Harold Brothers of Massena, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren.

Ramona M. Elbert, of Oak Bend, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Orlando, she moved here from Alexandria, Ind. in 1995. She was 70.
Mrs. Elbert was a homemaker. She was Methodist.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Andrew "Ace" Elbert; daughters, Barbara Mittendorf of Ocala and Abby Lestage of Ellington, Conn.; sisters, Charlotte Porter of Placentia, Calif., and Rosetta Thomas of Ocala; brothers, James Giles of Ocala and John Giles of Thomaston, Ga.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Phillips.

Dale F. Marso, of Majestic Oaks, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Ocala Regional Medical Center. A native of Wisconsin, he moved here in 1991 from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was 75.
Mr. Marso was a retired machinist for a heavy equipment company. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 354. He loved traveling, fishing and hunting. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Theresa M. Marso of Ocala.

William A. O'Connell, of Oak Run, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at TimberRidge Rehabilitation Center, Ocala. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he came here in 1998, formerly of Bricktown, N.J. and New Monmouth, N.J. He was 75.
Mr. O'Connell was a retired electrical engineer with AT&T; Bell Laboratories. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; and two sons, Kevin W. O'Connell of Highland Ranch, Colo., and Keith G. O'Connell of Long Beach, Calif.
