Elmer C. Richards, 81, Chassahowitzka, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at Oak Hill Hospital, Spring Hill.
He was born April 13, 1922, in Mechanic Falls, Maine, to Clifford and Lyda (Hall) Richards. He moved to the area 37 years ago from St. Petersburg.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of the D.A.V. and American Legion of Maine.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Bernece (Beck) Richards of Chassahowitzka; two sons, Curtis W. Richards and his wife, Susanne, of Salem, Ore., and Kenneth R. Richards and his wife, Deborah, of St. Petersburg; sister, Dora Perry of South Paris, Maine; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ralph Walker, 53 Dunnellon
Ralph Cecil Walker, 53, Dunnellon, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, in Floral City.
He was born in Haines City and moved to Citrus County in 1968.
He was a truck driver for DMB Enterprises, Holder.
He was a 1969 graduate of Citrus High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Vietnam era.
He was a member of Missions Possible Ministries Church of Citrus Springs. He was a Christian and family man who served the Lord in numerous ways. He ministered to others through music as a member of the adult choir and also served as leader in the Men's Ministries at his church.
His father, Cecil Prine Walker and a sister, Judith Walker Robison, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Bellamy Walker of Dunnellon; son, Maj. Ashton Walker of Fort Bragg, N.C.; mother, Dorothy Walker of Floral City; brother, Robert C. Walker and his wife, Karen, of Haines City; five sisters, Keitha Stoney and her husband, Billy Joe, of Floral City, LouAnn Stokes of Boulder, Colo., Mary Perrin Thimmes of Inverness, Christa Graham of Benton City, Wash., and Claudia Cuadros and her husband, Carlos, of Gainesville; three stepsons, Paul, Mark and Shane Mullins, all of Athens, Ga.; three stepdaughters, Melanie Mullins of Athens, Ga., Betty Ann Perez of Crystal River and Rebecca Hutchison of Dunnellon; a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born June 30, 1926, in Morgantown, W.Va., to Roy and Gertrude (Archright) McLain and she moved here 25 years ago from Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mrs. Evans was a retired fashion consultant.
She was a member of the Sugarmill Woods Country Club and was an avid bridge club member.
Survivors include husband of 53 years, Sidwell L. Evans of Homosassa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom (Jennie) Evans of Lakeland and Greg (Nancy) Evans of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Louise H. Friant, 87, Lecanto, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.
She was born March 20, 1916, in Connellsville, Pa., to Elias and Beatrice Heavner and she moved here 30 years ago from Miami.
She was a retired travel agent and a member of the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Citrus Springs, where she was a member of the choir and many other church activities.
Survivors include three nieces, Pat Johnson, Martha Wood and Janet Bernard; and nephew, Doug Heavner.

Charles Paul Probst, 73, Brooksville, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at his home.
Born June 22, 1930, in Jamaica, N.Y., to Charles and Louise Probst, he moved here 23 years ago from Boutte, La.
Mr. Probst was a retired telephone technician.
He was a 51-year member of Queensboro Masonic Lodge No. 892 of New York.
Survivors include wife, Jeanne S. (Hauss) Probst of Brooksville; two daughters, Susan Willis of Brooksville and Carol Colombo of Crystal Beach; and five grandchildren.

Born Aug. 18, 1932, in Aiken, S.C., to Joseph and Ruby (Quarles) Quattlebaum, he moved here 21 years ago from St. Petersburg.
Mr. Quattlebaum retired from Lockheed Martin (G.E. Corp.) in St. Petersburg as a chemical analyst specialist with 26 years of service.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was an avid golfer.
He was Protestant.
Survivors include wife of 47 years, Julia (Thornton) Quattlebaum; daughter, Elaine (Tony) Grant of Baton Rouge, La.; brother, D.R. "Ronnie" Quattlebaum of Aiken, S.C.; and grandson, Justin Grant.

Kenneth L. Smith, 70, Hernando, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in Inverness.
Born Dec. 16, 1932, in Montandon, Pa., he moved to Citrus Hills in 2001 from Doylestown, Pa.
Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the prefabricated concrete industry as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion both in Doylestown, Pa.
He was an avid hunter and bird watcher.
Survivors include wife of 47 years, Dorothy Smith of Hernando; two daughters, Denise Fell of Doylestown, Pa., and Lesa Wenner of Hernando: son, Robert Smith of Kitnersville, Pa.; sister, Joanne Smith of Lewisberg, Pa.; brother, Raymond Wolf of Turbotville, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Wetmore was a retired convenience store cashier.
She was Baptist.

Michael Combs, 49
Michael Combs, 49, of Citrus Springs, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, in Citrus Springs. A native of Dayton, Ohio, he moved here in 1990 from Lantana.
Mr. Combs was a drywall hanger. He was Methodist and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Combs; father, Harley Combs; and brother, Stephen Combs.
