Leon S. Morgan, 59, Mechanic

Leon S. "Gabby" Morgan, 59, of Center Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Leesburg. A native of Sherman Hills, Maine, he moved here 20 years ago from Worcester, Mass. Mr. Morgan was a mechanic in the automotive industry. He was Protestant. Survivors include two sons, Ross Morgan and Scott Morgan; two daughters, Luann Morgan and Lauri Boucher; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, William L. Morgan of Maryville, Tenn., Frank Morgan of Marydel, Del.; companion, Mildred Stevenson of Center Hill; extended family: two sons, Sgt. Steve Stevenson of Clermont, David Stevenson of Webster; three daughters, Bonnie Mills Werner of Powder Springs, Ga., Brenda Johnson of Ware Shoals, S.C., Karen Stevenson of Center Hill; two granddaughters, Samantha Stevenson of Center Hill, Bonny McCallister of Greenville, S.C.; two grandsons, Ricky Brackett of Ware Shoals, S.C., and Benjamin Johnson of Ware Shoals, S.C. The family held a Memorial Service on Nov. 15 at the Center Hill Presbyterian Church with Pastors Wayne and Nancy Hood officiating.

Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Luvadell L. Glenn, 85, Pottery worker

Luvadell L. Glenn, 85, of Wildwood, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, in Inverness. A native of Crooksville, Ohio, she has lived in Wildwood since 1958 and was formerly of East Liverpool, Ohio. Mrs. Glenn was a pottery worker and of the Protestant faith. Survivors include two sons, Robert Glenn and John Glenn, both of Bushnell; brother, Bernard Fickle of East Liverpool, Ohio; sister, Vivian Russell of East Liverpool, Ohio; seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, with Pastor Jon King officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Viola E. Smith, 87, Merchant

Viola E. (Cuneo) Smith, 87, of Istachatta, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in Istachatta. A native of Istachatta, she lived in Immokalee 50+ years. Mrs. Smith was a devout Baptist and devoted mother and wife. She was a merchant in the mercantile industry, rock hound, antique dealer; a Jane of all trades who loved to fish. She returned to her home in 1995. Though she is gone, her spirit, faith and goodness will affect us forever. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Istachatta. Survivors include a son, Frank Smith of Istachatta; two daughters, Joyce Carol Smith of Istachatta and Jo Ann Ramey of Immokalee; four grandchildren, Aaron and Matthew Ramey, Anthony Smith and Carlye Mader; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lois Waller of Istachatta, Connie LaFayette of Istachatta, Bertha Taylor of Felds, Fla., and a daughter by heart, Ruby. She was preceded in death by her husband if 58 years, Joe W. and two brothers, Charles and J.C. Cuneo. Services were held Nov. 18 at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, with Chaplain Roland Nelson officiating. Interment at New Hope Cemetery, Istachatta. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell.

William T. Roe Jr., 73, Supervisor

William Thomas Roe Jr., 73, of Monticello, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at his home. He was born in Monticello where he was a life-long resident except for some years in Wildwood. Mr. Roe retired after a life-long career at Florida Power as a supervisor of the Special Equipment Pool. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic F&AM;, Hiram Lodge #5 in Monticello, where he served as a past Master in 1963. Survivors include his wife, Johnelle; three daughters, Cindy Roe Littlejohn (and husband Chuck) of Tallahassee, Pam Roe Young of Davidson, N.C., and Linda Roe McDonald (and husband Marty) of Tallahassee; a brother, James Roe of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Jamie Harper of Washington, D.C., Tracy Harper of Dunedin, Kristen Young of Orlando, Jason Young of Wildwood, Chrissy McDonald, Savanna McDonald, and Hannah McDonald, all of Tallahassee; a step grandchild, Jeff Scott Littlejohn of West Palm Beach, and two devoted friends, Kaiser Oglesby and Trish Blue. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gina Young. Funeral services were held Nov. 15 at the First Baptist Church, Monticello; Interment followed in the Roseland Cemetery, Monticello. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 493, Monticello, Fla. 32345. T.J. Beggs Jr. & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, Monticello, handled the arrangements.

Ethel L. Willingham, 62, Assembly Line Worker

Ethel L. Willingham, 62, of Webster, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in Dade City. A native of Richfield, Idaho, she was a resident of Webster since 1974, formerly of Talisman Estates. Mrs. Willingham was an assembly line worker in the electronic industry. She was Methodist. Survivors include a son, R.C. Willingham of Bushnell; five brothers, Robert Branen of Wicomico, Va., William Branen of Cerritos, Calif., Glen Branen of Bellevue, Idaho, Tommy Branen of Homedale, Idaho, and Joe Branen of Nampa, Idaho; and three grandchildren. Memorial service was held Nov. 19 at Evergreen Cemetery, Bushnell, with Rev. Clarence Crane officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Mary T. Zdrojewski, 89, Homemaker

Mary Theresa Zdrojewski, 89, of Bushnell, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in Leesburg. A native of Detroit, Mich., she was a resident of Bushnell since 2000, formerly of Detroit. Mrs. Zdrojewski was a homemaker and Catholic. Survivors include four sons, Frank Zdrojewski and Ronald Zdrojewski, both of Redford, Mich., Albert Zdrojewski of Dade City and John Rymut of Largo; three daughters, Mary Ann Dziewit of Dearborn, Mich., Frances Nieckarz of Westland, Mich., and Kathleen Martin of Bushnell; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. Services were held Nov. 15 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Bushnell, with Father Peter Sagorski officiating. Interment at St. Hednig Cemetery, Dearborn, Mich. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

William G. Clark, 77, Civil Servant

William George Clark, 77, of Pensacola, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, in Pensacola. A native of Wilmington, Del., he moved to Wildwood in 1996 from Virginia Beach, Va., then moved to Pensacola in 2001. Mr. Clark was in the civil service. He was a veteran of the Navy and a member of the D.A.V. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Clark is survived by his daughter, Mary E. Clark-Wilson of Pensacola. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Trinity Baptist Church, Adamsville, with Rev. John Reichard officiating. Burial was at the Florida National Cemetery. Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, handled the arrangements.

Gerald D. Plumb, 67, Truck Driver

Gerald "Jerry" D. Plumb, 67, of Lake Panasoffkee, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in Lake Panasoffkee. A native of Lafayette, Ind., he was a winter resident of Lake Panasoffkee. Mr. Plumb was a union truck driver. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Battleground, Ind.; the VFW; York Rite; American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Carol S.; two sons, Tony Plumb of Colfax, Ind., and Jerry Plumb of Redding, Calif.; daughter, Pamela Felix of Battleground, Ind. and seven grandchildren. Interment was at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lafayette, Ind. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Alva D. Potter Jr., 74

Alva D. Potter Jr., 74, of Oxford, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003. Mr. Potter was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retiree of Disney World Inc. Survivors include his wife, Mary Potter-Oxford; son, Stephen Porter of Floresville, Texas; daughters, Sherry Tripp and Sheila Bernstein, both of Oxford; brother, Grady Potter of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at the Chapel of Banks Page Theus Funeral Home with Brother Charles Boddy of the Wildwood Church of Christ officiating. Banks Page Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, handled the arrangements.

Timothy J. Rice, 35, Meat cutter

Timothy J. Rice, 35, of Bushnell, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in Bushnell. A native of St. Petersburg, he was a lifelong resident of Central Florida. Mr. Rice was a meat cutter with Winn Dixie. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Chuck and Brenda Rice of Panama City Beach; mother, Martha Jo Rice of Bushnell; two sons, T.C. Rice and R.J. Rice, both of Bushnell; brother, Charles (Chuck) A. Rice of Bushnell; sister, Beth Cameron of Brooksville. A Memorial Service was held Nov. 8 at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel, Bushnell, with Rev. Stan Burke officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Bushnell. Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, handled the arrangements.

Annie Bleile, 71 Hernando

Annie LaFlamme Bleile, 71, Hernando, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, in Hernando.

She was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Fall River, Mass., to Joseph and Mary Perreira, and she moved here in 1982 from Pawtucket, R.I.

Mrs. Bleile was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the Leroy Rooks VFW Post 4252 Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose in Dunnellon and the Highlands Civic Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andre N. LaFlamme, Oct. 4, 1986.

Survivors include four sons, Andre N. LaFlamme Jr. of Foster, R.I., Joseph LaFlamme of Pawtucket, R.I., Robert LaFlamme and William LaFlamme, both of Hernando; five daughters, Linda Cyr and Jeannie DiLugio, both of Hernando, Patricia Rouillier of Pawtucket, R.I., Donna McParlin of Greenville, N.H., and Mary Ann Belmont of Pawtucket, R.I.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

John Conway, 84 Inverness

The Rev. John P. Conway, 84, Inverness, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, in Inverness.

Born July 31, 1919, in New York City to John and Grace Conway, he was a graduate of Long Island University. He retired from Grumman Aircraft after 32 years as an aeronautical engineer.

After retiring from Grumman, he attended Mercer School of Theology in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island. He was ordained a priest in August 1970. He served in the Diocese of Albany, N.Y., Central Pennsylvania, Long Island, N.Y., and the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida. He moved to Inverness in 1990 from Bedford, Pa. The Rev. Conway was an associate priest for St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Inverness.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bertha Conway of Inverness; daughter, Susan Ann Conway of Middle Island, N.Y.; two sons, John Edward Conway of Brookhaven, N.Y., and Bruce Earl Conway of Connecticut; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary King, 86 Manchester, Vt.

Mary Roland King, 86, Manchester, Vt., formerly of Rutland, Vt., and Dunnellon, died Nov. 6, 2003, while visiting family at her granddaughter's home in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

She was born May 1, 1917, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mrs. King worked in the fashion industry in New York City and later taught Latin in Warwick, N.Y. After retiring to Florida, she taught English in Ocala.

She played cornet with the Indianapolis Philharmonic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William King, long-time Dunnellon resident with Mary; and a sister, Elizabeth Belle.

Survivors include three daughters, Lynne Sanders of Dorset, Barbara McCann of Barrie, Ontario, Canada and Deborah King of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Duncan King of California; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A private service of remembrance was held Nov. 8 in Canada at Eden Mills Presbyterian Church. Her cremains will be placed in Montoursville, Pa., and in the family site in Indianapolis, Ind.
