Tamara K. Gromadzki, 73, Tarpon Springs, died Friday, July 25, 2003, in Tarpon Springs.

Born Dec. 3, 1929, in Warsaw, Poland, she moved to Tarpon Springs from Beverly Hills in 2000.

Mrs. Gromadzki was a retired teacher.

Survivors include her husband, Jan Gromadzki of Tarpon Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Brete-Harte Hannaway, 79 Inverness

Brete-Harte Hannaway, 79, Inverness, died at his home.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he moved to the area in 1994 from Seekonk, Mass.

Mr. Hannaway was a retired mechanical engineer, a member of Church of England, and also belonged to the Masons, Netop Lodge.

He served with the British Royal Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Violet, of Inverness; sister, Rosa Sonntag of Basil, Switzerland; and aunt, Leonora Jenner of Cinderford, England.

Geraldine Hopper, 86 Hernando

Geraldine G. Hopper, 86, Hernando, formerly of Inverness, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Crystal River.

Born Jan. 2, 1917, in Yonkers, N.Y., to Edward and Anna (O'Brien) Brancard, she moved to Inverness in 1991 from Yonkers, N.Y.

She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills.

She loved bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hopper, on Jan. 19, 1990, and three grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Robert Hopper and wife, Dorothy, of Citrus Springs, and Joseph Hopper of Stuart; two daughters, Grace Stannard and Lenore Coyne and husband, Frank, all of Citrus Springs; sister, Frances Puncar of Yonkers, N.Y.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Angela Marchese, 90 Brooklyn, N.Y.

Angela Marchese, 90, Brooklyn, N.Y., former Inverness resident, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Margaret Tietz Hospice Home in Queens, N.Y.

Born June 18, 1913, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Rosario and Antonia Gino, she moved to Inverness in 1974 from Rosedale, N.Y., before returning to Brooklyn in June of this year because of health reasons.

She was a retired seamstress in the clothing industry.

She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Highlands Civic Association and Highlands Surveillance.

Survivors include two sisters, Providenza Julia Catalano of Smithtown, N.Y., and Lillian Crimi of Moscow, Pa.; and nieces and nephews, including Antoinette Castiglione of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Christine Olmstead, 49 Lecanto

Christine Marie Olmstead, 49, Lecanto, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.

Born Dec. 22, 1953, in Brattleboro, Vt., to Franklin N. and Rose-Marie Olmstead, she came to Florida a month ago from South Strafford, Vt.

She was a department supervisor for a tool and die company.

She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star chapter in Wilmington, Vt.

Survivors include son, Francis "Duff" Bergendahl of Columbia, Mo.; daughter, Tricia Bergendahl of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughter, Debra Slowe of East Dummerston, Vt.; parents, Franklin and Rose-Marie Olmstead of Lecanto; two brothers, Craig Olmstead of Wilton, N.Y., and Scott Olmstead of Keene, N.H.; and two grandchildren.

Leah Orcutt, 22 Crystal River

Leah Kay Orcutt, 22, Crystal River, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Brooksville.

She was born Sept. 24, 1980, in New Port Richey to Wayne Orcutt and Tammy Baker and was a lifelong resident of this area.

She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance.

She enjoyed butterflies, fairies, music, playing guitar and singing.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Wallace Orcutt, and maternal grandfather, Dalton Baker.

Survivors include mother, Tammy Baker of Crystal River; father, Wayne Orcutt of New Port Richey; brother, Billy Joe Baker of Crystal River; maternal grandmother, Deanne Baker of Crystal River; paternal grandmother, Florence Orcutt of New Port Richey; an uncle; two aunts; and several cousins and friends.

Myrtle Johns Pendleton, 93, a Lecanto native and Ocala resident, died Monday, July 28, 2003.

She was a member of Northside Missionary Baptist Church of Ocala.

Survivors include son, Frank L. Pendleton and wife, Patricia, of Grand Bay, Ala.; grandson, Leslie W. Pendleton and wife, Eva, of Birmingham, Ala.; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Allison Pendleton of Birmingham, Ala.

William Peterson, 71 Trenton

William August Peterson, 71, Trenton, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at North Florida Regional Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in New Jersey and lived in New York, N.Y., Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio, and Inverness before moving to Trenton.

Mr. Peterson was a retired architect and color and lighting consultant. He served as chairman of the Trenton Code Enforcement Board. He was a member of Suwannee River Moose Lodge and a past member of the Elks. He was president of the Gainesville area Billiard League.

He was a professional member of the Institute of Professional Designers; the Illuminating Engineering Society, SID, and was awarded many honors such as, Who's Who in the South and Midwest, Men of Achievement, 5000 Personalities of the World, Personalities in America and Who's Who In Design. Mr. Peterson's designs are spread across America and foreign countries.

He was Catholic.

Survivors include wife, Mary Erline Peterson of Trenton; son, Roger Kevin Peterson and wife, Teresa, of Titusville; daughter, Regina Peterson Stroud and husband, Carl, of Kingston, N.C.; stepdaughter, Joyce Goss; a grandson; three step-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter.

Gladys Louise Phillips, 67, Tampa, formerly of Crystal River, died Monday, July 28, 2003.

Survivors include her husband of 491/2 years, Verldon; three daughters, Donna and husband, Steve Henry, Jennie and husband, Gary Eccher, and Sheila and husband, Albert Jorge; two sons, Tommy and wife, Cindy and Donnie; two brothers, Clyde and Charles Jones; and two sisters, Sue Irwin and Fay Conner; and 11 grandchildren.

Born July 22, 1954, in Ypsilanti, Mich., to Frederick J. Rowe and Viola Yerebeck Snyder, she came here in 1983 from Fort Bragg, Calif.

She was a homemaker and a member of Leroy Rooks VFW Post 4252 Auxiliary, Hernando.

She was Catholic.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Rowe of Winter Haven and Shawn Falk of Denver, Colo.; mother, Viola Snyder of Hernando; stepfather, Franklin Snyder of Hernando; two brothers, Ricky Rowe of Jackson, Mich., and Terry Rowe of Hernando; and two sisters, Janet L. Smith and Patricia Rowe, both of Winter Haven.
