David R. Melendez, 74
David Rodriguez Melendez, 74, of Citrus Springs, died Friday, June 27, 2003, at the Woodland Terrace in Hernando. Born June 8, 1929, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, to Angel and Carmen Rodriguez, he came here in 1999 from Puerto Rico.
Mr. Melendez was a U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War. He was the owner of a food service business in Puerto Rico.
Survivors include his daughter, Anybeth Rodriguez of Dunnellon; four grandchildren, Linnet Morales of Citrus Springs, Kenny Gonzalez, Carolyne Cintron and Yanelli Cruz, all of Dunnellon; and three great-grandchildren, Ernesto, Julynett and Nashally Morales, all of Citrus Springs.

Emily R. Miller, 78
Emily Rose Miller, 78, of Dunnellon, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Devonshire Parrish, she came here in 1982 from Miami.
Mrs. Miller was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunnellon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edison Eugene Miller.
Survivors include her son, Donald Bruce Miller of Saratoga, Calif.; daughter, Vicki Ann Orquhart of Parker, Colo.; four brothers, Jerry DeCouto of Fort Myers, Ernest DeCouto and Roderick DeCouto, both of Bermuda, and Anthony DeCouto of Marrietta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Julia Vaughn, 101
Julia M. Vaughn, 101, of Citrus Springs, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, in Citrus Springs. A native of Hammond, La., she came here in January 1998 from Riverside, Calif.
Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker. She was a Gold Star Mother and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion in Riverside, Calif. She was Methodist and was an active member at Rubidoux Methodist Church in California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vaughn, and her son, Keith Seaman who was killed in the Korean War on April 25, 1952.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Findlay and her husband, Donald, of Citrus Springs; stepson, John Vaughn and his wife, Vi, of Boise, Idaho; stepdaughter, Eula Smith of Pinole, Calif.; brother, George Freeman of Junction City, Ore.; sister, Juanita Freeman of Upland, Calif.; three grandsons; 14 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several step-great, grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

John Stanley Richardson, 80, of Dunnellon, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at his residence. A native of Canandaigua, N.Y., he moved to Dunnellon from Phelps, N.Y., in 1999.
Mr. Richardson was the owner of Richardson-Van Horn Insurance Agency. He was a member of Ocala Word of Faith Church and a Marine in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, John C. Richardson of Deer Lodge, Mont.; daughter, Janis Richardson of Cocoa; stepsons, Brian Kelly of Phelps, Sean Kelly of Fairport, N.Y., and Patrick Kelly of Clifton Springs, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Deborah Grudzien of Vernon, Conn., and Jacquie Schraffenberger of Walworth, N.Y., and 10 grandchildren.

John Frank Vickers Jr., of Dunnellon, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, in Ocala. He was born in Thomasville, Ga., and came here in 1948 from Jacksonville.
Mr. Vickers was a retired control center operator for Florida Power Corp. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a deacon and active member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Vickers of Dunnellon and sister, Virginia Tankersley of Ocala.

Robert Andrew Yuncker, 82, of Dunnellon, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Florida. Born in Loudonville, Ohio, he came here 18 years ago.
Mr. Yuncker was the owner and manager of a company that sold boats. He was a U.S. Army paratrooper.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Yuncker.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; and his brother, Donald E. Yuncker of Jackson, Miss.

Delores Mae Alstodt, 70, of Dunnellon, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala. A native of Calera, Ala., she moved here in 1995 from California.
Mrs. Alstodt was a former business owner.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; sons, Williams Moores of New Port Richey, Bradford Moores of Ocala and Charles Moores III of Fort Lauderdale; stepdaughter, Perri Kramerman of Cooper City; stepson, Brian Alstodt of Williston; and seven grandchildren.

Shirley A. Bruce, 64, of Inglis, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. She was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and came here 27 years ago from Ohio.
Mrs. Bruce was a retired waitress. She was Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Bruce; daughter, Luhanna Wilsey of Inglis; brother, Robert Becker and nine grandchildren.

Dean I. Fox, 88, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, in Summerfield. A native of Tontogany, Ohio, he moved here in 1990.
Mr. Fox was a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice LeFurge Fox of Dunnellon; sons, Bernard Fox and Kirk Fox, both of Dexter, Mich.; sister, Martha Bengtson of Dunnellon; brothers, Ardon Fox of Fort Myers and LaVerda Fox of Bradenton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Ivey was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post 4864.

Mrs. Michniak was a retired horticulturist. She was Christian.

Mary Terrell, 56, of Dunnellon, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at home. A native of Dunnellon, she was a lifelong resident of North Central Florida.
Mrs. Terrell was a custodian for the Marion County School Board and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Victor Terrell of Dunnellon; sisters, Beatrice Grant of Dunnellon and Audrey Young of Miami; brother, Dennis Williams of Dunnellon; stepdaughter, Helen Wilson of Dunnellon; stepsons, Isaac Terrell of Orlando, Norris Terrell, Frank Terrell, Robert Terrell and Jimmie Terrell, all of Dunnellon; four grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
