He was a long-time resident of Hernando.
He was born Feb. 26, 1936, to Allen and Iva Retter in Muncie, Ind.
He was a professional musician for more than 40 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, John R. Gray of Oak Glen, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia C. (Hamm) Retter of Deerlodge, Tenn.; three sons, Shane A. (Celina) Retter of Hernando, Marty Retter of Alexandria, Ind., and Jamie Retter of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Shanda (Dean) Suris of Tallahassee, Roxanne (Paul) Schott of Alexandria, Ind., and Dawn (Dwayne) Jimes of Dupont, Ind.; a brother, Jack (Judy) Retter of Anderson, Ind.; four grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; and two great-nieces.

Elmer J. Russell, 91, Citrus Springs, died Thursday July 10, 2003, in Crystal River.
Born Sept. 20, 1911 in Waterbury, Conn., to Ernest and Mary Russell, he came here from Gilroy, Calif., in 2001.
He was a retired toolmaker and machinist for Scoville Manufacturing.
He attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs.
Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Russell, in 1958; wife Violet Russell in 1993; and son Edward Russell.
Survivors include two sons, Robert J. (Barbara) Russell of Citrus Springs, and John (Jean) Russell of Canton, Ga.; a stepson, Gus Breney of Naples; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was the former owner of Gino's Pizza in Plant City.
He came here from Plant City in 1973.

Loretta A. Walek, 83, Citrus Springs, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Lecanto.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she came here 20 years ago.
She was a homemaker.
She attended Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Citrus Springs.
She volunteered at the Citrus Springs Library.
Mrs. Walek was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Walek, in 1961.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan L. Ravenscroft and husband John of Citrus Springs, Diedre Mason of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Russell Pischinger, M.D., of Texas; two brothers, Eugene Zola of Cleveland, Ohio, and Michael Zola of Washington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

James Coffron, 77 Beverly Hills
James Robert Coffron, 77, Beverly Hills, died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Lecanto.
Born Feb. 6, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., to Willard and Bridgette Coffron, he came here 23 years ago from Mancelona, Mich.
Mr. Coffron was manager of Twisted Oaks Golf Course for 12 years. He retired in 1973 from the Detroit (Mich.) Police Department and he taught accident reconstruction at the University of North Florida and Northwestern University.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by brother, Willard Coffron.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Antoinette M. Zion of Beverly Hills; son, James Coffron of Ocala; three daughters, Ann (Steven) Krukowski of Beverly Hills, Janet (Dennis) Paul of Salem, Ore., and Kathleen Harrington of Wixom, Mich.; two brothers, Jack Gosslin and Francis Gosslin, both of Michigan; and seven grandchildren.

Helen Hall Morpeth Culgin, 93, Inverness, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Mariner Health Care of Inverness.
Born March 16, 1910, in East Providence, R.I., to Mabel Cornell Hall and William H. Hall, Mrs. Culgin came here in 1999 from Rhode Island, where she resided for 89 years.
She had been a member of the Barrington Congregational Church in Rhode Island, the Women's Guild, and devoted much time to the children's unit at Rhode Island Hospital.
She was interested in primitive art, Rhode Island history and its antiquities.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harold L. Morpeth Sr. (1967) and Raymond Culgin (1977).
Survivors include son, Harold L. Morpeth Jr. of Saunderstown, R.I.; daughter, Jan K. Hall of Lake Elmore, Vt., and Floral City; brother, Robert P. Hall of Floral City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Inverness; Youth advisor; VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Leroy Rooks Post 4252, Hernando; American Business Women's Association; Suncoast Chapter of the Sweet Adelines; Grand Lodge of Ladies Auxiliary of United Transportation Union; Citrus Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, CMH SHARE Club and president of the Women of the Church.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy J. Peterson of Hollywood and Joseph (Lori) Peterson of Logansport, Ind.; daughter, Patricia (Wally) Ditzler of Hernando; daughter-in-law, Maria Peterson of Miami Springs; brother, Charles E. Walker of Zephyrhills; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas Joseph Ramsey, 46, Hernando, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at his home.
Born June 12, 1957, in Beloit, Wis., to Vernon and Cecelia (Mitchell) Ramsey, he moved to Hernando in 1997.
Mr. Ramsey worked for the Avante' at Inverness nursing home in Inverness.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala, and attended St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon B. Ramsey.
Survivors include his companion, Nancy Goldsmith of Hernando; son, Thomas Ramsey of Beloit, Wis.; two daughters, Amanda Kurth and Tabitha Ramsey, both of Beloit, Wis.; brother, Larry R. Ramsey (Lynette) of Port Charlotte; and two sisters, Cindy Garland (Richard) of Beloit, Wis., and Pamela L. Pepitone (Joseph) of Inverness.
