Robert E. Bedaw, 66, of Ocala

Robert Ervini Bedaw, of Ocala, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at his residence under the care of his companion, Patty Prest, family and Hospice of Marion County. Born in Keene, N.H., on March 23, 1937 to the late Leon and Frances (Stevens) Bedaw, he came to this area last year from Turner Falls, Mass. He was 66.

Mr. Bedaw was a retired tool and die maker for the Bete Fog Nozzle Company of Greenfield, Mass., with 36 years of service and served our country in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two sons, Leonard Bedaw and Robert Bedaw Jr., both of Greenfield, Mass.; twin sister, Beverly Conway of Conway, Mass.; half sister, Judy Hawkins of Florida; several grandchildren and his companion, Patty Prest of Ocala.

Daniel D. Butryn, 81, of Spruce Creek

Daniel D. Butryn, of Spruce Creek, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at MRMC Emergency Center at TimberRidge, Ocala. A native of Chicago, Ill., he resided in the Ocala area since 1996, formerly of Lynwood, Ill. He was 81.

Mr. Butryn was a retired bearing repairman with LTV Steel Manufacturing. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala; Knights of Columbus 3323, Chicago, Ill., and the Republic Steel Firefighters Brigade. He was an avid bowler and a sportsman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Butryn 1994 and Lewis Butryn 1973.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Annette; a son, Mark Butryn of Ocala; and four sisters, Joan Drzazga of Sun City, Ariz., Veronica Koenigshofer, Cecilia Roszak and Adele De Bartolo, all of Chicago, Ill.

Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge Chapel, handled the arrangements.

Robert W. Chalue, 80, of Ocala

Robert Walker Chalue, of Ocala, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Summerfield Hospice Suites in Summerfield. A native of Toronto, he moved here in 1986 from Needham, Mass. He was 80.

Mr. Chalue was a retired photographer. He was a member of Community Congregational United Christian Church, American Legion Post No. 14, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2498, 87th Division Association and volunteer for the Marion Oaks Crime Patrol Unit. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Thelma L.; sons, Paul J. Chalue of Dover, N.H., and Richard Walker of Ocala; daughter, Nancy Chalue Stice of Pensacola; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Theresa Duffy, 75, of Ocala

Theresa "Tess" Duffy, of Ocala, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Rochester, N.H., she came here in 1993 from Hollywood, Fla. She was 75.

Mrs. Duffy was a retired Air Pax Corp. electronics assembler. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Aside from being involved with Civil Air Patrol; she loved reading, traveling and baking cakes.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Rene J.; daughters, Kristine D. Register of Miami and Nancy A. Dzamba of Winter Springs; and two grandchildren.

Philip J. Jagielski, 86, of OTOW

Philip Joseph Jagielski, of OTOW, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at his residence in Ocala. A native of Bridgeport, Conn., he resided in the Ocala area since 1989, formerly of Meriden, Conn. He was 86.

Mr. Jagielski was an experimental assembly welder with United Technology. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala, and enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne D. Jagielski of Ocala.

Lucien L. Link, 76, of Ocala

Lucien L. Link, of Ocala, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. A native of Dubuque, Iowa, he moved to Margate in 1958 and retired to Ocala in 1987. He was 76.

Mr. Link was a retired supervisor with Denison Marine and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; stepfather, Harold W. Nielsen of Omaha, Neb.; three sons, Roy G. Link (Anne) of Coconut Creek, Fla., Ronald K. Link (Pamela) of Houston, Texas and Gregory C. Link (Page) of Apex, N.C.; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

John A. Dydynski, 84, Pine Run

John A. Dydynski, of Pine Run, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. A native of Beaver Falls, Pa., he resided in the Ocala area since 1985, formerly of Hyattsville, Md. He was 84.

Mr. Dydynski was a retired serviceman. He was a member of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and Korea. He was also a member of the VFW Angela Santos Post 4781, Ocala; American Legion Post 354, Marion Oaks; life member of "The Old Guard" Association of Ocala; the 7th Infantry Division 2071, Ocala, and Commanders Club of DAV, Ocala.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; and two sisters, Shirley Verrico and Theresa Verrico, both of East Rochester, Pa.

Kathryn P. Maloney, 80, of Pine Run

Kathryn P. Maloney, of Pine Run, died at her residence in Ocala. A native of Norwich, Conn., she came here in 1983 from Greenville, S.C. She was 80.

Ms. Maloney was a homemaker and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Maloney in 1997 and by her daughter, Ann Marie Maloney in 1990.

Survivors include two sisters, Rita Thurman of Ocala and Marie Mercier of Norwich, Conn.; and three granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Madison D. Pesce, Infant, of Ocala

Madison Danielle Pesce, of Ocala, beloved infant daughter of Matthew and Kelli Pesce, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala.

In addition to her parents, she is also survived by maternal grandparents John and Linda Lauderdale of Opelika, Ala.; paternal grandmother Sally Sawyer of Ormond Beach, and an uncle, Jonathan Pesce of Ormond Beach.

Donald F. Gerke, 75, of Ocala

Donald F. Gerke, of Ocala, died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Estelle's House. A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., he moved to Ocala from Coral Springs in 1993. He was 75.

Mr. Gerke was a retired construction manager. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and an avid auto-racing fan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sue Gerke.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty J. Gerke; son, Mark F. Gerke of Panama City; daughters, Carla Copeland of Jupiter, and Rhonda Maier of Port St. Lucie; sister, Lillian Bolyard of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

James William Alston, 79 Lilburn, Ga.

James William Alston, 79, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Emory Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Ga.

He was born born icon Sept. 3, 1923, in Taylor County, Fla., and lived in Crystal River.

He was Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Elfrieda M. Alston of Lilburn, Ga.; his daughter, Travis Elvia Thompson of Edison, N.J.; his stepson, William Davis of Lilburn, Ga.; his sister, Florida Josephine Weiss of Orlando; and two grandchildren.

August J. Bendler, 62 Homosassa

August J. Bendler, 62, died Friday, June 27, 2003, in Homosassa.

Born Dec. 19, 1940, in Darby, Pa., to August and Nancy Bendler, he came here from West Deptford, N.J. in 1997.

He was a truck driver.

Mr. Bendler was a member of the SHARC Amateur Radio Club, the Emergency Operations Center and Retreads Motorcycle Club. He was Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bendler of Homosassa; his son, John R. Bendler of Waynesboro, Va.; his daughter, Donna C. Bendler of Bridgeton, N. J.; his father, August G. Bendler of Voorhees, N. J.; and his sister, Nancy Rosciczewski of North East, Md.
