Lucile K. Berman, 83, of Oak Run

Lucile Kaye Berman, of Oak Run, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at home. A native of Manhattan, N.Y., she moved here three years ago from Port St. Lucie. She was 83.

Mrs. Berman was a homemaker and was Jewish.

Survivors include her husband, Seymour D.; sons, Sanford H. Berman of Pompano Beach and Robert K. Berman of Smyrna, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Grace Kemp, R.N., 77, of Oak Run

Grace Kemp, R.N., of Oak Run, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Girardsville, Pa., she lived here since 1986, formerly of Frederick, Md. She was 77.

Mrs. Kemp was a registered nurse. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church; Florida State Registered Nurses Retired (RNR); Oak Run Medical Team, Ocala.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine Handy of Finksburg, Md.; two sons, George Morrison of Salt Lake City, Utah and David Morrison of Germantown, Md.; sister, Ruth Bakey of Long Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kemp, June 15, 2001.

Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge Chapel, handled the arrangements.

Helga A. Michniak, 64, of Spruce Creek Preserve

Helga A. Michniak, of Dunnellon, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 in Ocala. A native of Bad Soden, Germany, she came here in 1997 from Corpus Christi, Texas.

Mrs. Michniak was a retired horticulturist and was Christian.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony G. Michniak of Spruce Creek Preserve; son, Steven Winter of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Sandra Kissman of Austin, Texas; two cousins, Hilde Gies of Tucson, Ariz. and Betty and Friedrich Hassler of Germany.

Aleta Mae Noble, 84, of Ocala

Aleta M. Noble, of Ocala, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at home. A native of Carrsville, Ky., she moved here in 1992 from Oxford, Ga. She was 84.

Mrs. Noble was a homemaker. She was a member of Ocala West United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Shirley M. Burgess of Covington, Ga., Karen S. Dickerson of Eastman, Ga., and Judy A. Taylor and Linda L. Jaax, both of Port Charlotte; 11 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Weston Noble, and by her son, Dr. Richard Noble.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County or Ocala West United Methodist Church.

Gordon M. Ross Sr., 78, of OTOW

Gordon M. Ross Sr., of OTOW, died at Surrey Place in Ocala. A native of North Sydney, Nova Scotia, he has lived here since 1996, formerly of Rockport, Maine.

Mr. Ross was the owner of the Mini-Golf Course in Rockport, Maine. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Tuscaloosa for four years in Normandy and Iwo Jima.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Ross of Ocala; son, Gordon M. Ross Jr. of Belfast, Maine; and brother, Stewart Gray Ross of Lyndeborough, N.H.

Memorial contributions may be made to College Road Baptist Church building fund.

Esther F. Sharps, 73, of OTOW

Esther Foggin Sharps, of OTOW, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Parkersburg, W.Va., she moved here in 1994 from Miami. She was 73.

Mrs. Sharps was a homemaker. She was a member of Ocala West United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the West Virginia Club at On Top of the World.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Richard "Dick" H. Sharps; sons, Robert Sharps of Miami and Bruce Sharps of Dallas, Texas; sister, Anne Friend of Boynton Beach; brother, Robert Foggin of Wilmington, Del.; and two grandchildren.

Nancy San Giacomo, 87, of Marion Oaks

Nancy San Giacomo, of Marion Oaks, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of Staten Island, N.Y., she came here in 1984 from Newington, Conn. She was 87.

Mrs. San Giacomo was a retired employee of Travelers Insurance Company. She was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, an avid gardener and loved cats and ballroom dancing.

Survivors include her daughters, Carla San Giacomo of Ocala and Toni Jean San Giacomo of Wethersfield, Conn.; brother, John Kulynyck of Hebron, Conn.; sisters, Catherine O'Connor of Tolland, Conn., and Anne Dedar of Lebanon, Conn.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Audrey R. Carlisle, 86, of Ocala

Audrey Ruth Carlisle, of Ocala, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Dunnellon, she came here in 1979 from Miami. She was 86.

Mrs. Carlisle was a registered nurse and employed by the Miami Children's Hospital and St. Luke's in Jacksonville. She was a member of the DAR and the Daughters of the Confederacy, past member and treasurer of the Florida Nursing Association, and a member of the Coventry Episcopal Church in Ocala. She served in the Army Nursing Corps during World War II.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Al Kay Carlisle, and a nephew, Lawrence Keith Carlisle.

Survivors include a nephew, James Carlisle of Jacksonville; niece, Janice Turjillo of Bernalillo, New Mexico.

Jacquelyn E. Carnick, 73, of Saddle Oak

Jacquelyn E. Carnick, of Saddle Oak, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at TimberRidge Nursing Home. A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., she moved here in 1990 from Detroit. She was 73.

Mrs. Carnick was a retired secretary. She was Lutheran.

Survivors include her sons, David F. Carnick, of Warren, Mich, and John M. Carnick of Clinton Township, Mich.; daughters, Mary E. Patrick of Phoenix, Ariz., Louann Fialkowski of Mikado, Mich., Janice M. Cerini of Macomb, Mich., Judith A. O'Shea of St. Claire Shores, Mich., Anne M. Feil of Edwardsburg, Mich., Suzanne Longo of Clinton Township; 14 grandchildren and one great- grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Carnick.

Jean R. Fitzgerald, 78, of Oak Run

Jean R. Fitzgerald, of Oak Run, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Summerfield Suites. A native of Chester, Pa., she moved here in 1989 from Salisbury, Md. She was 78.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a retired school library secretary with the Wicomico, Md., County Board of Education. She was a member of Ocala West United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, George L.; sons, Alan Fitzgerald of Austin, Texas, and Mark Fitzgerald of Princess Anne, Md.; a brother, John Ransone of Annandale, Va.; a sister, Sue Aktug of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Anita W. Jackson, 80, of Marion Oaks

Anita W. Jackson, of Marion Oaks, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Oakhurst Rehabilitation Center. A native of Jacksonville, she has resided in the Ocala area since 1989, formerly of Atlanta, Ga. She was 80.

Mrs. Jackson was a retired Purchasing Assistant with Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. She was a Charter Member of Ocala West United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women; an avid bingo player, loved bridge and euchre.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence J. Jackson.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy J. Henson of Jacksonville and Joan J. Heazel of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Donald C. Jackson of Upper Saddle, N.J.; two sisters, Edith L. Anderson of Jacksonville and Marion Blue of Ormond Beach; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lucille J. Bishop, 79, of Ocala

Lucille J. "Penny" Bishop, of Ocala, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Estelle's House. A native of Fitchburg, Mass., she moved here in 1994 from Peoria, Ill. She was 79.

Mrs. Bishop was a retired purchasing director for the Peoria, Ill. public schools. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, William J.; daughter, Jill B. Rubin of McLean, Va.; brother, Robert LeBlanc of Leominster, Mass.; sister, Annette Allaire of Fitchburg, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
