Charles Brady, 86 Beverly Hills

Charles Brady, 86, Beverly Hills, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Inverness.

The son of James R. and Martha (Donelly) Brady, he was a native of Detroit, Mich. He came here from Harrison Township, Mich., in 1980.

He was protestant.

Mr. Brady was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his son, Charles Brady II of Harrison Township, Mich.; daughter Carol Sroka of Dearborn, Mich.; three brothers, John Brady of Winter Park, Thomas Brady of Port St. Lucie, and William Brady of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; a sister, Eleanor Pierct of Roseville, Mich.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jennie Grebenc, 89 Lecanto

Jennie A. Grebenc, 89, Lecanto, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness.

A native of Aurora, Minn., she was born Nov. 30, 1913, to John and Angela Miklousich.

She came to Inverness in 1975 from Chisholm, Minn.

Mrs. Grebenc was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, the Catholic Woman's Club, Highlands Civic Association and The Foresters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Grebenc, on Sept. 25, 1996.

Survivors include her son, Franklin J. Grebenc of Inverness; daughter, Jane M. Fore of Peterburg, Ill.; two brothers, Joseph Miklousich of Inverness, and Edward Miklousich of Virginia, Minn.; a sister, Mayme Rebrovich of Aurora, Minn.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Victoria Ivey, 76 Dunnellon

Victoria E. Ivey, 76, Dunnellon, died June 17, 2003, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in McKeesport, Pa., and was a member of V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary Post 4864.

Survivors include daughter, Linda J. Scrivner of Green Cove Springs; son, Michael T. Ivey of Sunrise; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32254.

Laverne Jensen, 75 Dunnellon

Laverne V. Jensen, 75, Dunnellon, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, in Ocala.

Born in Chicago, Ill, she came here in 1985.

Mrs. Jensen was a retired sales person.

She was a member of the Rainbow Lakes United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include three nephews, Michael Fredriksen of Newark, Del., George Fredriksen of Elkton, Md., and Burton Fredriksen of Landenberg, Pa.; two nieces, Dorothy Kowalewski of Belair, Md., and Julie Render of Reston, Va.

Mary Zapetis Marsh, 67 Hernando

Mary Zapetis Marsh, 67, Hernando, died Saturday, June 21, 2003 in Hernando.

Born Nov. 10, 1935, in Miami to Ernest and Adalen Zapetis, she came here from Burnsville, N.C. in 1998.

She was a retired dietary supervisor with Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, N.C. She previously worked at Burnsville Hospital and Spruce Pines Community Hospital in North Carolina.

She was a member of the Business Women's Association in Burnsville, N.C.

Mrs. Marsh was Catholic.

Survivors include her husband Walter R. Marsh of Hernando; son John H. (Norma) McCracken; stepson William Marsh of Starke; two daughters, Nicki (Kevin) Lewis of Springfield, Ohio, and Jan (William) Hoppe of Hollywood; stepdaughter Frances (Louis) Williams of Annapolis, Md.; three brothers, Ernest (Shirley) Zapetis Jr., Michael (Karen) Zapetis, and Jimmy (Pat) Zapetis, all of Miami; sister Arlene (Robert) Kolz of Burnsville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Mary Prentice, 83 Inverness

Mary L. Prentice, 83, Inverness, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Citrus Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wolf Point, Mont., she was born March 17, 1920. She came here 14 years ago from Far Hills, N.J.

Mrs. Prentice was Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Stanley E. Prentice on May 21, 2000.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Charles A. Prentice and his wife Kathy of Inverness, John G. Prentice of Allentown, Pa., and Robert S. Prentice and his wife Linda of Blue Jay, Calif.; daughter Wendy Cramer of Plano, Texas; brother Robert Gano of Crescent City; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Sandra Schaefer, 59 Homosassa

Sandra L. Schaefer, 59, Homosassa, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Tampa.

Mrs. Schaefer was born Nov. 1, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., to Harvey and Catherine Schaefer. She came here in 1991.

She was a waitress.

She was Catholic.

Mrs. Schaefer was an avid bingo player at the Homosassa Lions Club.

Survivors include five brothers, Fred (Phyllis) Schaefer of Inverness, Robert (Roberta) Schaefer of Homosassa, Harvey (Cassandra) Schaefer and Gary (Dez) Schaefer all of Chicago, Ill., and Harold(Diana) Schaefer of S. Barrington, Ill.; sister Kathleen (Gene) Nutoni of Glenview, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

John Simonsen, 84 Beverly Hills

John Simonsen, 84, Beverly Hills, died Friday June 20, 2003, in Crystal River.

The son of Jen and Etine Simonsen, he was a native of Germany. He came here from Long Island, N.Y. in 1988.

Mr. Simonsen was a retired painter. At one time he worked as painting foreman for Huntington Hospital in Long Island, N.Y.

He was Lutheran.

He served during World War II with the Merchant Marines of Germany.

He was a past member of the Beverly Hills Lions Club and the Inverness Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Hilda Simonsen of Beverly Hills; son Kai Jonny Simonsen of Long Island, N.Y.; daughter Signy Anita Haagensen of Norway; stepson Thomas Rabolt of Long Island, N.Y.; two step-daughters, Janis Donohue and Carol Ann Rabolt, both of Long Island, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Beverly Hills Lion Foundation, Inc., 72 Civic Circle, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.

Carol E. Ball, 61, of Ocala

Carol Elaine Ball, of Ocala, died Friday, June 20, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Detroit, Mich., she came here in 2001 from Fort Myers. She was 61.

Mrs. Ball was a member of Apostolic Bible Church of Leesburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Coakley of Felicity, Ohio and Judy Williford of Ocala; four sons, Kenny Ball of Rome, Ga., Sherwood Ball, Ronald Michael Ball, Robert Ball, all of Fort Myers; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon, handled the arrangements.
